Chapter 1 - The Resurrection

The town of Black Hollow had always carried a dark and twisted history. Nestled at the edge of the forest, surrounded by cliffs and fog, it had once been a booming industrial town, known for its bustling factories and steady economy. But everything changed when the great fire of 1923 tore through the heart of the town. No one ever discovered the true cause of the fire, but many believed it was no accident. Some whispered that a curse had been placed upon the land, while others spoke of strange rituals and shadowy figures that had been seen in the dead of night. After the fire, the town never quite recovered.

In the decades that followed, Black Hollow became a place shrouded in mystery. The people who lived there, once proud and hardworking, now walked with their heads down, eyes filled with a quiet resignation. Crime surged, from petty thefts to violent acts that were often covered up by the local authorities. More disturbing, however, were the reports of strange occurrences—sightings of twisted, inhuman figures lurking in the shadows, unexplained disappearances, and whispers of dark forces that plagued the town's residents. No one could explain the abnormalities, but they were undeniable. The very land seemed to be rotting, consumed by the darkness that had taken hold.

By the time DaVince Colt moved to Black Hollow, the town's sinister reputation was well-established. People who didn't know the town's history would never guess how deeply its evil had taken root. The decay wasn't just physical—there was an atmosphere of dread, an unspoken tension in the air. Strange things happened regularly, and those who dared investigate rarely returned the same. Still, for reasons DaVince couldn't explain, he felt drawn to this place, as if the cursed town itself had called him here. And he would soon find out that, in a town like Black Hollow, nothing was what it seemed.

DaVince Colt knew this was gonna happen.

All those years of collecting comics, watching superhero movies over and over, imagining alien invasions or apocalypses—he always knew that someday, a moment like this would come. Everyone thought he was just messing around, but turns out...

He was the one most ready for this!

It all started when DaVince was driving home after a long night at work. The road was empty, his car's hum the only sound in the quiet night. Everything felt like another boring routine, like it always did. But suddenly…

A blinding white light exploded in front of his car, nearly causing a crash.

I can't die now! he thought, slamming the brakes hard as the tires screeched. His car stopped just in time, and DaVince could only stare ahead, holding his breath.

In front of him, the road cracked open like it was being swallowed by the earth itself. From the rift came three objects: goggles, a glowing piece of armor, and a cube that pulsed like some forbidden magical artifact from another world.

For a moment, DaVince just stood there, speechless. This was it.

"This is it," DaVince whispered to himself, grabbing the goggles. The moment he put them on, they clicked into place, displaying strange symbols across his vision.

A cold voice echoed in his head: "Demonic entities detected. Prepare to engage."

"Demons?!" DaVince laughed, his eyes lighting up with excitement. "Oh, this is crazy!"

Out of nowhere, dark figures began to form around him—huge, grotesque creatures with claws, fangs, and glowing eyes.

"This is real!" DaVince shouted, laughing even more. He grabbed the armor near him, and it immediately snapped onto his body in a flash of light. The demon's claws scraped uselessly against the glowing runes on the armor.

"YES! YES! This is even better than I imagined!" DaVince kept laughing, dancing around in excitement. "I've been training for this my whole life, and it's finally here!"

Not long after, the cube in his hand began to pulse. Before he could even process what was happening, the world around him twisted, and suddenly, he was standing on cracked, blackened earth, a blood-red sky above him and rivers of lava flowing nearby.

And, of course, there were more demons.

The voice in his head spoke again: "You have been chosen. Use these tools to close the rift and stop the invasion."

"Oh, finally!" DaVince said, grinning widely. "I'm so ready for this!"

As one of the huge demons lunged at him, DaVince got into position, the armor flaring with energy, the goggles scanning targets, and the cube glowing brightly in his hand.

"Alright, let's do this! I'm just getting started!"
