I was coming home from my work. I would say that today, clocking off was rather early. It was afternoon, the sun projecting its light on the streets. It had illuminated the skies yellow. That was a summer day. I was sweating. The roads were full of cars. I walked as I saw the buildings.
I reached my house, ringed the bell. My daughter greeted me warmly. I went to shower. That cold water on a summer day after a shift was very refreshing. I came out of the bathroom and went to the kitchen to prepare food. I saw that there was no salt left. So, I told my daughter Chen Li Ya to go to the market and bring some. I was really grateful that we had a house with two storeys, a good living condition and stable sources of income. Most people did not have these. Especially after the Japanese invasion.
