Feeling the coldness on his back, Kura opened his eyes for the first time in a long time, seeing a worn ceiling, with difficulty, he got up from the table he was lying on and looked around.
He was in an old study, the bookcases filled the room but strangely there was not a single book, next to the table was the sword of extermination, he picked it up and held it against his chest, after having held it for the first time it no longer produced fear, but a feeling of closeness as if it were part of him.
He got up from the stone table, realizing he was naked, he searched the room until he found a skeleton wearing black clothing with pieces of armor and a black cape, he took the clothes off the skeleton and put them on, it felt a little loose but suddenly it adjusted to his body fitting him perfectly.
Already dressed, Kura looked for a way to leave the studio. He quickly found what seemed to be the exit. He opened the door and found a spiral staircase. He went down the stairs for several minutes until he found a door. When he passed through it, he found that he was in a tower in the center of a circular meadow with a pond. Around the meadow there were giant trees that were even taller than the tower he was in.
After looking around, Kura crouched down and touched the grass beneath his feet. He felt familiar but unfamiliar. He had no memories of his previous life but he still felt familiar with certain things.
He spent a while touching the grass until he realized that he didn't recognize his own face, so he went to the pond. When he got there, what greeted him was an unfamiliar face. He had black hair with spiky locks down to the nape of his neck and red eyes that conveyed coldness. He didn't seem to be more than twenty years old Kura touched his cheek and it took him a while to realize that it was his own face that was reflected in the pond.
he stretched out his hand and hit the water causing his reflection to disappear, falling on his back in the green grass he looked at the starry black sky while holding the sword, it was a lot to process, a short time ago he was being corroded in total darkness and now he was in a different world from his own with the mission of eliminating an entire race.
-Should I complete the mission? - Kura asked himself but quickly realized that not doing it was not an option, the academic had threatened him and he was afraid of returning to the darkness where he would cease to exist.
Also, his mission was the only thing he had in this world, he was alone and literally his only companion was his sword, it was all he had, it was made to eliminate the plague and it was the only thing he could do.
It was about an hour before Kura stood up from the grass. He had thought for a while before making the decision to eliminate the plague from this world. He knew it would be complicated, but he trusted that what the academic said was true. He would look for what to do with his life once he completed his mission.
-Well, now what?- Kura asked himself while he thought about what his next action should be. He quickly decided to find out how strong he was and then look for where one of those parasites that the academic mentioned was. With the idea of testing the capabilities of his new body, he began to walk towards the forest around the meadow.
The moment he set foot outside the meadow Kura felt a chill and felt presences similar to those he had felt before but much weaker than them being the same as him, those presences approached his location at great speed.
He quickly deduced that they were parasites. He had not expected to meet them so quickly. He hesitated to meet them but decided to go with them when he realized that he could not run away from them forever, so he ran in the direction of the parasites.
Kura's speed was much greater than any human in his previous world, he moved agilely between the trees avoiding or jumping over the roots in his path, his movement felt natural as he got closer and closer to the parasites.
When he was finally about to encounter the parasites, suddenly a black ball shot towards him like a bullet. He instinctively swung his sword in a horizontal cutting motion in front of him and split the object in half. Before the ball, split in half, fell to the ground, it disintegrated into black particles that entered the sword. For the first time in millennia, a parasite had disappeared from the world permanently.
After having eliminated the parasite, Kura put himself in a defensive position when he saw two more stop by the trees while they looked at him, they were not fools, they had seen how Kura had eliminated his partner with a single blow.
Kura finally saw what he was facing, they were dark balls with six long legs, they had three red eyes and they reached Kura's chest, both parasites began to run around Kura at great speed, they were so fast that he could barely see them, suddenly one of them jumped towards him, it was faster than the previous one, Kura used his sword to block the parasite's front legs that were like spears.
At the same time he blocked the parasite, he felt a sharp pain in his back, he quickly pushed the parasite in front of him and turned around making a cut that was dodged by the parasite that had dug its legs into his back, both parasites moved away and ran around him once more.
Realizing the situation Kura was in, he decided to take desperate measures since he did not have much time to think. When the parasite attacked him again, instead of blocking, he let its legs dig into his chest. He had felt that the other parasite's legs had not penetrated deeply; they were fast but not as powerful.
Before the parasite could get its legs out of his chest Kura pierced it with her sword and disappeared shortly after, the surviving parasite seemed to go crazy and jumped on Kura from behind before he could turn around and began to tear at his back, being alone it was all or nothing either he killed Kura or he killed him.
Feeling his flesh being torn apart Kura grabbed the parasite and slammed it against the ground in front of him on the ground in response he began to feel his chest being attacked as well, he quickly eliminated the parasite.
Before he could recover he felt the presence of a large amount of parasites running in his direction, he knew that he couldn't face them being so injured, he began to run back to the meadow where he would be in a better position, he ran as fast as he could in his current state, he felt that they were behind him and little by little they were catching up to him.
When he reached the meadow Kura fell into the grass feeling a great pain in his body, he had underestimated his injuries, but the moment he entered the meadow he realized that he could no longer feel the parasites, the meadow was a safe area, soon after he could no longer avoid falling unconscious from his injuries, he wondered if this was the way he would die before losing consciousness in the grass.
