Another year had passed. It was Kiseki's birthday, and he was turning three.
Kiseki, feeling the sun on his face, woke up happily. The day before, he had been told that on his third birthday, he would finally get his own bed. He was extremely happy; after all, his crib was getting too tight for him.
As he stretched, he heard footsteps and, when he looked, he saw his father, Kizashi.
Kizashi, seeing his son waking up, approached his room and tousled his hair while saying, "Happy birthday, sleepyhead! Are you happy that today you're finally leaving the crib?"
Kiseki responded, "Yeees!" with a smile.
Kizashi, teasingly, said, "Sure, your crib was more comfortable."
Kiseki quickly replied, angry, "No! I want my bed!"
Kizashi laughed upon seeing his son's change in expression. Before he could continue teasing, he heard a voice from the kitchen, his wife Mebuki, saying, "Kizashi, stop bothering Kiseki!" And before he could defend himself, she continued, "Come to breakfast!"
"Did you hear that, dad? Don't bother me!" said Kiseki, looking at his father teasingly.
Kizashi simply ruffled his hair again and replied, "You got away with it this time. Let's eat before your mom gets mad."
They both started going down the stairs, and when they reached the table, they saw their plates. Kiseki, surprised, saw his plate with eggs and bacon. He said to his mother, tears in his eyes, "Can I eat this?"
Mebuki, laughing, responded, "Yes, it's on your plate. What do you think?"
Kiseki jumped up to hug his mother, crying, while saying, "Thank you, mom!" And he thought to himself, "Since I can remember, I've only eaten vegetables. Finally, I can eat something that isn't green!"
Kizashi, seeing his son so happy, couldn't help but tease him, "Are you sure you don't want vegetables?"
Kiseki, without wasting time, began eating his eggs and bacon happily.
As the family ate, they asked Kiseki what he wanted.
Kiseki, with the sweetest tone and puppy eyes, said, "Mom, dad, I want a little sister."
His parents, who had been enjoying their breakfast, almost choked on their food. They both looked at each other, surprised. Kiseki handed them each a glass of water, which they drank quickly while he, with the greatest innocence, said, "Are you okay, dad, mom?"
Mebuki and Kizashi, after they were able to swallow, looked at each other, and both said in unison, "Can you repeat what you just said, dear?"
Kiseki stretched one of his arms, smiling, "I want a little sister! I want to be an older brother!" While thinking to himself, "How embarrassing to make this pose, but if Sakura doesn't get born, much of the plot will fall apart."
His parents looked at each other, and Mebuki said, "Sweetheart, do you know what you're asking for?"
Kiseki, without hesitation, replied firmly, "I do want a little sister!"
His parents looked at each other again, and Kizashi, a little worried, said, "Kiseki, are you sure? We're happy with just you, we don't want more kids."
Kiseki, upon hearing this, couldn't help but curse inwardly and think, "I'll have to use this move. I have no choice." At that moment, he began crying loudly, repeating, "I want a little sister! I want to be an older brother!"
His parents, seeing their son's distress, tried to calm him down, but he wouldn't stop crying. After an hour, Mebuki, seeing she couldn't take it anymore, said, "Alright, dear. You'll have a little sister."
Kizashi, hearing this, opened his mouth in shock, like a fish out of water.
As Kiseki said, "Thank you, mommy!" and hugged her, he then went to his father and gave him a hug, saying, "Thank you, daddy!" Kizashi was still in shock, unable to believe what had just happened. Kiseki ran quickly to his room, fearing his parents might change their minds.
Once Kiseki disappeared from sight, Mebuki hit her husband to make him react.
Kizashi, feeling the hit, snapped out of it and, nervously, said, "Love, are you sure?"
Mebuki nodded, smiling, "If Kiseki asked so desperately, what can we do? Besides, I wouldn't mind having another child." She looked at her husband with a flirtatious gaze.
Before she could continue, Kizashi, still nervous, said, "Yes, it would be nice to have another son or daughter. But, changing the subject, do you think you're ready for another baby?" he asked, worried, knowing that Mebuki would be pregnant for nine months and give birth.
Mebuki responded confidently, "Of course, I didn't become a shinobi for nothing."
Kizashi, with a nervous laugh, replied, "That's true, love."
Meanwhile, in Kiseki's room, he thought to himself, "I've done everything I can to make Sakura be born. Now the decision depends on my parents." Then he continued, "Less than a year is left until Naruto's birth. I hope my parents have Sakura before then, or if not, I don't know what I'll do. Aaah, the stress! I can't do much now, I just have to wait for time to pass."
After thinking this, he lay down in his new bed, smiling while saying, "Finally, I have a bed! Goodbye to that damn crib!" And he fell asleep, hoping his great performance had paid off so his parents would have another child.
