Chapter 7 - A Night to Remember

# Chapter 7: A Night to Remember

"Am going to make a big shot tonight," a girl declared, her voice bubbling with excitement. Emily strutted into Jazzo Club, her mini jean skirt swaying with each confident step, a crop top hugging her figure just right. Her hair cascaded in half-curls, and she chewed gum with a rhythmic pop, embodying the carefree spirit of the night.

Outside, Bera leaned against the hotel wall, the pulsating beat of music vibrating through her body. She felt the energy of the club seep into her bones, a stark contrast to the uncertainty swirling in her mind. "Bera!" Emily called, her voice cutting through the noise as she approached. "I've been waiting for you! We can't miss each other tonight!"

With a nod, Bera followed Emily inside, the atmosphere enveloping them like a warm embrace. They found a pair of chairs across from the bar, the dim lights casting a soft glow around them. "You good? You haven't said anything since we got here," Emily asked, concern flickering in her eyes.

"Yeah," Bera finally replied, her voice barely above a whisper. She could feel the weight of the night pressing down on her, the drinks Emily had consumed already beginning to take effect. "You've been drinking. This is your second bottle," Emily noted, her tone teasing yet knowing. Bera wasn't the type to indulge, but tonight felt different.

"Hi," a voice interrupted, and Bera turned to see a cute guy leaning against the bar, his smile disarming. Emily's eyes lit up, and she licked her lips, clearly intrigued. "Excuse me," she said, leaving Bera alone as she engaged in conversation with the stranger.

Bera felt a pang of loneliness as she watched them, the laughter and flirtation swirling around her like a distant melody. She stood up, the bar man's voice cutting through her thoughts. "Miss, please pay."

Dipping her hand into her purse, Bera fumbled with her debit card, her fingers clumsy as she struggled to remember her PIN. It took her four tries, each failed attempt heightening her frustration. Finally, the bar man handed her the card back, and she sighed in relief.

"Emily!" she called out, scanning the room for her friend. But Emily and the man had already slipped away, lost in the crowd. Bera's heart raced as she noticed a door slightly ajar, the faint glow of light spilling into the dim hallway. Curiosity piqued, she pushed the door open, oblivious to the "VIP" sign that hung above it, the letters too small for her to read clearly.

Inside, a man stood, his features sharp and captivating. "Bera," he said, his voice a low rumble that sent a shiver down her spine. But the words were muddled in her mind, the alcohol clouding her senses. "You're too cute," she blurted, reaching out to touch his face, her fingers brushing against his skin.

He gently removed her hand, but she was undeterred, her boldness fueled by the night's intoxicating energy. "You, cute," she repeated, pulling him closer, her heart racing with a mix of desire and recklessness. "I don't want to take advantage of you," he said, his voice laced with hesitation.

"No, you aren't," she insisted, her lips finding his in a fervent kiss. The world around them faded as they lost themselves in each other, the kiss igniting a fire that neither could resist. They began to undress, the boundaries of right and wrong blurring in the heat of the moment, surrendering to the passion that enveloped them.

Afterward, as the night waned, the man received a call. "Okay," he said, his voice distant as he dressed. He glanced at Bera, who lay sleeping soundly, blissfully unaware of the world outside. In his haste, he forgot to lock the door, leaving it only lightly closed.

"Alpha, the vampire scent—I can perceive it. It's near here," Jerry, reported, his senses heightened. "It's heavy over here." he pointed.

"They must have found out we're here," Renon replied, determination etched on his face. They followed the scent until they reached the room, the door unlatched. "It seems it's here," he said, pushing the door open.

Inside, they found Bera lying on the bed, the duvet pulled up to her chin. "The scent isn't here. Are you sure it's here?" Renon asked, confusion flickering in his eyes as he studied the girl laying on the bed, maybe she was a vampire. He reached out, he was so surprised to see Bera, he sat besides her, brushing his fingers against her cheek. "Are you really my fated mate? What is your connection with my mark?" he whispered, a mix of hope and disbelief in his voice.

"Alpha, is she the one?" Jerry asked, eyes wide with realization. Renon nodded, his heart racing as Bera stirred, her hand instinctively reaching for his, warmth radiating from her touch.

"Don't leave me," she murmured, her voice soft and vulnerable. Renon signaled for his guard to step outside, the weight of the moment settling around them. That night, he became her protector, falling asleep beside her, the world outside forgotten.

The morning light crept in, casting a soft glow over the room. It was only 5 AM, and Emily was in a panic, her heart racing as she searched for Bera. She had checked their house, but the old woman had seen neither of them.

Bera's eyes fluttered open, confusion clouding her mind. "This isn't my room," she mumbled, feeling a wave of dizziness wash over her. Turning to her left, she froze, her heart dropping as she saw Renon sleeping beside her. "Why are you here?!" she yelled, the shock of the moment jolting her fully awake.
