Chapter 13 - Hana and Ren stuck in Rain

after a date they went outside them it starts to rain Hana laughed as Ren pulled her to the side of the street, trying to shield her from the unexpected downpour with his jacket. They'd just stepped out of the cozy little café where they'd spent the past two hours talking and losing track of time. The date had gone perfectly—until now.

Rain poured relentlessly, soaking the ground and casting a dreamy haze over the city lights. Hana tilted her head back and let out another laugh, droplets catching on her lashes.

"It's useless, you know," she said, gesturing to Ren's jacket, which was doing very little to shield them both.

Ren gave her a crooked grin, his hair already sticking to his forehead. "It's the thought that counts, right?"

She rolled her eyes playfully. "Sure, Mr. Chivalrous."

The street was empty except for the two of them. The shops lining the road were closed for the night, their windows fogged over. It was just Hana, Ren, and the rain.

"Do you think we should make a run for it?" Hana asked, though she made no move to leave the awning they'd taken shelter under.

Ren looked down the street toward where his car was parked. It wasn't far, but the rain made the distance seem endless. He glanced back at Hana, her cheeks flushed from the cold and her smile as warm as ever.

"Or," he said, a mischievous glint in his eye, "we could stay right here."

Hana raised an eyebrow. "And do what? Watch the rain?"

"Exactly." Ren reached out and gently took her hand. His fingers were cold, but his touch was steady. "It's not every day you get to enjoy a moment like this."

Hana's heart skipped a beat. She was about to make a sarcastic comment, but the way he was looking at her stopped her in her tracks. It wasn't just the rain making her feel lightheaded anymore.

For a few minutes, they stood there in comfortable silence, the sound of the rain filling the space between them. Hana could feel the chill creeping into her bones, but she didn't mind.

"Alright," she finally said, squeezing his hand. "Let's make this moment count."

Before Ren could ask what she meant, Hana stepped out from under the awning and into the rain, spinning in a circle with her arms outstretched. Her laughter echoed down the empty street, infectious and bright.

Ren hesitated for only a second before joining her. The rain soaked through his clothes, but he didn't care. He reached for Hana, pulling her close as they danced to the rhythm of the storm.

Hana looked up at him, her face inches from his, and smiled. "Best date ever," she whispered.

Ren grinned. "It's not over yet."

And as the rain continued to fall, he leaned in, closing the distance between them with a kiss that felt like sunshine breaking through the clouds.
