"I would even make you the only woman in my life," Greyson whispered as he gently brushed a lock of Alexis's hair away from her forehead.
She looked straight into those blue eyes, her heart pounding just like it did during their intimate moments at the mansion.
"I will definitely divorce Clara," he said again. "But the situation forced me to delay the divorce, and in the end, the plan to use an excuse for separation was abandoned. And..." He sighed, biting his lower lip for a moment as he gazed at her beautiful face, then shook his head.
"I don't want to be apart from you… I will bind you to me in any way possible, even if it means making you my contract lover… hiding you here… Because I can't bear to let you go… I…"
"You have me now!" Alexis stopped Greyson, wrapping her arms around his neck and gazing deeply into his eyes. "Like I said… There's always a chance if it's truly meant for you."
He was stunned.
"It's good for me, right?" she confirmed.
"Of course," he whispered, moving closer to her lips. "I will do whatever is best for you… I promise."
She closed her eyes as their lips met—so soft, sending an overwhelming rush of emotions through her. But the memory of how quickly his attitude had changed before made her uneasy. She broke the kiss, opening her eyes to look at him intensely.
"Don't make me regret of trusting you," she whispered.
Greyson nodded with a smile.
"Of course… You won't regret it. I promise!" he reassured her. "I'm yours, and you are mine… Your life is my life… I will always keep you safe, and your father as well… forever!"
Alexis remained silent, smiling happily as she quickly embraced Greyson, who immediately captured her lips in a deep kiss. Passion ignited uncontrollably as she stepped backward until she fell onto the bed, allowing him to hover over her, kissing her neck and down to her chest.
"Ah… Sir…"
"You are mine…" Greyson whispered, pulling down Alexis's bra, revealing her perfectly shaped breasts. "Oh… You're perfect!" he murmured before taking it into his mouth, kissing her fervently.
Drowning in the pleasure of Greyson's touch and kisses, Alexis arched her back, her hands instinctively gripping the white bedcover tightly.
"I'll make sure you never forget this… Your first time…"
"Yes… But why would I want to forget? Are you going to leave me?"
"Of course not!" Greyson whispered in his deep, baritone voice, caging her beneath him as he gazed at her innocent face. "I will never leave you… Sweetie."
Alexis swallowed hard, taking a deep breath while keeping her eyes locked on his. Slowly, she reached out, caressing his jawline covered in light stubble.
"Trust me," he assured her, kissing the palm of her hand.
"Don't make me overthink," she whispered. "Take away my fears…"
"Why be afraid? You've won my heart. Don't you realize that?"
"Sometimes… I can't believe it…"
"You have to believe it!" Greyson kissed Alexis's lips again, deep and lingering, before pulling away, breathless. "I'm yours… I will even draft a contract—I mean, a declaration that we will be together forever. I'll take care of everything… So you don't have to worry anymore…"
Alexis stared at him in shock, not expecting Greyson to take things this far.
"Still doubting me?" Greyson asked.
"I… I just…" She furrowed her brows. "We barely know each other, yet you're doing all these big things for me… for my sake… I don't think I deserve it…"
"No…" He shook his head. "Don't say that. You are captivating… No matter what, you have stolen my heart… And nothing will stop me from loving you… Not even you… You can't stop me!"
Alexis couldn't hide the happiness blooming on her face. She quickly wrapped her arms around Greyson's neck and kissed him.
Receiving her silent approval, Greyson didn't waste the opportunity. He moved down, trailing kisses all over her body, stripping away her clothes and tossing them aside. He even discarded his own, pressing her onto the bed, parting her legs wide before indulging her with his tongue.
"Oh… Damn it!" Alexis moaned, her hands reaching out to grip Greyson's hair. "Oh… What is this? What are you doing to me… Ah… Stop it… Ah!"
Greyson quickly moved back over her, his right hand gripping his hardness.
"What?" Alexis panted.
"I love you," Greyson whispered, capturing her lips again.
"Emh… Agh!"
She gasped as she felt him pushing inside her.
"It's okay… You'll be fine," he murmured, kissing her forehead while moving his hips slowly. "I love you… You have to believe that."
"Ehm…" She squeezed her eyes shut, clutching his arms tightly. "Oh… It hurts so much…"
Greyson remained silent, silencing her cries with soft kisses while continuing his slow, steady movements. He closed his eyes, unable to hide his pleasure, moving in sync with her as she gradually stopped wincing in pain.
Whitmore Mansion
Clara was growing restless from being cooped up in her room, so she decided to step outside. She immediately noticed the open door of another bedroom, reminding her of Alexis. Driven by curiosity, she approached the room and her attention landed on scattered papers on the sofa.
She walked over, picking them up one by one, scanning through the words.
"A contract… So… He really canceled his plan to divorce me? He even ended his contract with that girl?"
She sat down, recalling Alexis, remembering how sweet Greyson had been and how he had promised to always be there for her.
"Does he really have feelings for me? Did he cancel the divorce after learning that my boyfriend died? Does he think he can replace him? Is… Is he going to be the father of this baby?"
She pondered, lost in thought, until her phone rang, pulling her back to reality. She picked it up and answered the call from her father, David Everett.
"Dad?"
"Where are you? Don't tell me you left your husband again for that damn man!" David's voice was filled with anger.
Clara sighed, resting her head against the sofa.
"Clara!"
"This time, I have no choice," Clara murmured, her gaze distant. "Maybe it's true… Greyson is my destiny."
"Really? I thought you were still obsessed with that poor boyfriend of yours…"
"Dad… Stop insulting him… Don't keep dragging him into my life…"
"Hmm… Interesting. What happened that made you change your mind? Did you catch him cheating, or…"
"He's dead," Clara said flatly, her tears falling freely as the image of her late boyfriend flashed in her mind. "Now you can laugh… knowing I have no choice but to stay with Greyson…"
"Oh… Honey…" David's tone softened. "I'm really sorry for your loss. No father wants to see his child in pain. But you have to look at the bright side… I mean… If that man wasn't meant for you, then maybe it's time to learn to love your husband. Besides, Greyson is a good man—practically flawless. He won't hurt you. He won't cause you trouble… And, of course, your marriage will strengthen our company. I can continue working with his father… We will build a better future together…"
"Enough…" Clara cut him off. "Please don't bring business into my marriage."
"Okay… I know you're going through a tough time. But stay with your husband. I'm sure he will help you get through this."
"Yeah… Maybe…" Clara ended the call, placing her hands on her lap as she stared at her phone.
"Maybe Dad is right… Maybe Greyson is my destiny… I should learn to accept him rather than fall for another man who might not accept me and my baby…"
She gently placed her hand on her flat stomach before picking up her phone and trying to call Greyson. But there was no response.
"Why isn't he answering? Didn't he promise to always be there for me?"
