Chapter 15 - MOTHER AND SON (1)

In a twinkling of an eye, the night dossed down upon the emergence of sunrise.

There was a city called Monarch CT in the Federal Capital Territory of the country. In it lied a charming environment on the outskirt of the city where a proud, thoroughly dark and tall mansion situated, called VDM, in other words, Very Dark Mansion, where luxury was deep-dyed inside and out.

Contrasting the surrounding buildings, the very dark mansion was oh-so tightly secured like a royal palace, perfected with timeless architecture and as lavish as they come.

Proceeding to the indoors,

Within a unique pool lounge, a gentle sigh was heard, laced with a sense of maturity from a woman in her mid ages.

The pool lounge featured iconic mosaic designs that complemented VDM's style and architecture. Rows of tall windows were installed for the purpose of allowing fresh breeze and daylight in as desired.

Aside was a separate relaxation area with beautiful bed and bedding, soft sofas accessorized with good cushions, house plants and so on.

All together, everything was exquisite, a reposeful and lotus environment.

"I thought you came back for me"

The woman breathed in and out twice to recompose herself just after suffering the backlash of an impulsive euphoria.

Her eyes were looking at a silent figure who stood at one of the windows, outlooking the void in harmony with the sunshine admitting in.

Dar was his name, whose eyes held no emotions as if he was unaware of how handsome of a man he was. He was in his mid twenties yet appeared more masculine than his age.

From time to time, his brows would knit and veins throbbed on his forehead as though he was trapped in the land of bad memories, otherwise disturbed by thoughts. The woman who was his mother heard him ask after he turned around to face her

"Where is she, for the very last time mother? you don't dare deny that you have no knowledge about it whatsoever"

The mother whose name was Sabreen Duna, the owner of VDM, smiled at her son's inquiry. Not sure if it was due to the hundred days of his absence and sudden reunion or his excruciating questions.

Dar was Sabreen's only son, the apple of her eyes and the spitting image of herself however, their relationship of mother and son was terribly laughable as though Dar was an apple from another tree.

"I don't dare? Dearest Dar, have you forgotten who I am to you?"

Sabreen ridiculed herself in a chuckle. That was her son speaking to her, how funny!

If tolerance was not her second nature then, perhaps she wouldn't be standing there now, for naught was hanky-dory in her life including her personal relationships.

Dar was Sabreen's son, born with a silver spoon in his mouth yet chose to lead a commoner's life, such that even his presence now in the pool lounge of wealth and luxury was not well connected, the juxtaposition was very conspicuous as night and day.

Dar pursed his lips, second word, not say.

"Dearest, blood is thicker than water and even I, have to put my family first before anything, especially you"

"She was also our family! As a matter of fact, all these wealth and luxury is rightfully hers" Dar exploded from being irked by his mother's words.

But instead of exploding too, Sabreen elegantly and in a mature manner, approached the situation. She said

"I don't know who fed your innocent mind with all these lies because I Sabreen Duna is in my current position with my blood, tears and sweat.

Dearest Dar, you are hurting my feelings as your mother and you, the only progeny of mine. Do you know how much you matter to me? My breath is not as important as you"

Sabreen ambulated to where Dar was standing whilst saying

"In your absence, I spend the night often staring at the moon because I know although we are afar, we are still sharing the moment.

I missed you so much, I miss your smile and tears.

Dar, bear with me please".

(TO MOTHER:

"Mother, I am afeared nobody really knows me like you do.

You are my home where I feel my feet steady.

The entire world loves mother.

Love your banana pancakes")
