Chapter 2 - Ch-2 Hallucination?

Prey

Before getting into my suv, I crumbled the note and threw it away in the trash bin. Trying to shake everything off my mind I got some vanilla icecream on my way.

Parking my SUV in my driveway I got out of it and stood there looking around. No one could be seen in the road. It was quiet neighborhood, most of the houses were of big businessmen who do not even live there. Cold breeze blowing past my skin made my body dance a bit. Opening the gate I walked to the door. Standing there entering the password I stepped inside my house, it was pitched black inside. Turing on the light, I placed the car key on the hook in the wall. On my left was kitchen and dinning hall while on my right was the living room. Passing through the living room area , I stumbled upon my office room and a staircase leading upstairs. Mist, caramel and muted sage gave off an aesthetic and cozy vibe to the first floor.

Heading upstairs, there were three rooms. Walking past the guest room, I stood in front of my bedroom door, turning the doorknob and opening it I stepped inside. Turning on the light, I walked straight toward my bathroom to take a cold shower.

After an hour, I made out of the bathroom, towel wrapped around my naked body and my hair dripped wet. Drying off my hair, I went straight to my bed but before tucking myself in, I threw the towel on the ground and got inside the warm and cozy blanket covering my naked body.

Sunlight falling on my face makes my body turn over making my back face the balcony. Slowly opening my eyes, I looked straight, the room was lit up with sunlight. Sitting up straight, my eyes looked around confused. The lights were turned off , which I never did before getting on my bed. I usually leave my lights on as it gives me a sense of security. Shaking off my thoughts, I turned around a bit to grab my phone beside my pillow.

Grabbing the phone my fingers touched a folded paper below it. Heart throbbing faster, I grabbed the paper. Opening the paper my eyes almost popped out from its place. It was the same paper I threw in the trash bin before leaving for home. Now, it was in my hand. How that could ha...ppen. He was here last night. He was the one who turned off the lights.

Sweat breaks through my forehead. He broke inside my house, but the alarm didn't go off. Wrapping the blanket around the body, I checked everywhere, every door and window which can be used to get in my house. No sign of someone entering or existing the house. My soul almost left my body, I checked everywhere, every door and window which can be used to get in my house. No sign of someone entering the house. My soul left my body.

Did he follow me here or something. Shaking my head I sat on my sofa... It can't be possible, even if he did I would have noticed.

I was gonna be late for my work, so I rushed upstairs to the room to freshen up and get ready. Upon entering the bedroom , my eyes landed on the towel resting on the floor. The possibility of him seeing me naked made my cheeks flushed in anger. Grabbing the towel I rushed toward the bathroom.

All day I was fighting with myself whether I should file a case on someone broking into my house or was I just being delusional. A part of me wanted to believe that I was just hallucinating and maybe I didn't even throw it in the trash bin, maybe I did turn off the light and I just forgot about it. There was no sign of someone entering or existing the house, I checked everywhere and every room.

It's been really tiring for the past few weeks and maybe stress made me hallucinate. At the end i came to the conclusion that I will wait for something to happen again so I can be sure about it. What if it ends up killing me? I have been taking risks all my life so it won't hurt if I take another one.

But what was it , a hallucination because of work stress or he was really in the room?
