Chapter 9 - Sect Master?

When Kieran steps inside the sect master's private residence, he can't help but gasp in awe as he takes in the opulence and luxury of the space.

The room is massive, with a high ceiling and walls lined with intricate carvings and designs. The floor is made of polished dark wood, and the room is filled with lavish furniture such as sofas, chaise lounges, and large oak tables.

In the center of the room was a set of stairs leading downward, and off to the side, he could see an arching doorway leading to separate rooms.

"Hello?" Kieran called out, but nobody seemed to respond.

"Maybe she's just not home? That might be true but why didn't the Disciplinary Elder tell me when she stopped me? It could be that she just doesn't know. Oh well, I'll take this chance to look around anyhow."

Moving toward the stairs, he descended. The home looked well maintained, but as he descended the stairs, they groaned and creaked under his weight.

"Well, if they didn't hear me shouting before, then they certainly heard me now. These stairs loud as hell." Kieran mumbled to himself as he continued.

At the bottom of the stairs was a simple short hallway with a single door at the end. With no hesitation he walked forward and opened the door.

What greeted him immediately shocked him and his jaw hit the floor.

In the center of the room is a large canopy bed, framed by sheer, lacy curtains that give it a soft glow. Laying in the bed is a beautiful white fox with nine tails, writhing in pain as she seems to be focusing on something.

Covered in a thin sheen of sweat the fox lay there panting heavily. Her ears were flattened against her head, her eyes squeezed shut in concentration.

The room is dimly lit by several candles, casting a soft glow over the scene.

As Kieran stood there, the Nine-Tailed White Fox's eyes flutter open as she senses Kieran's presence, her ears perking up as she looks straight at him. Despite the pain she is in, she can't help but take in the newcomer with interest.

She takes a moment to assess him, her golden eyes glinting in the soft candlelight. After a long moment, she speak in a soft, dimly recognizable voice, barely audible above the sound of her own panting.

"You...Why are you here?" She spoke.

Kieran took a moment to gather himself before he replied.

"Sect Master? Are you alright? You....are Sect Master Eleanor, right?"

The Nine-Tailed White Fox's eyes widened in astonishment.

"You...Recognize me in this form?" She muttered.

Kieran paused for a moment before replying with a light smirk.

"How could I not recognize a woman as beautiful as you," He bullshitted, "even in a form like that. But who would have thought that the prestigious Sect Master of the Divine Sword Sect was actually a Divine Beast? It certainly came as a shock to me." Kieran started walking forward. "Do you mind telling me what's going on?"

"Wait, are you telling me that you don't know? You came inside me, and got me pregnant. Divine Beasts are nothing like humans. Some give birth after thousands of years, and others, like my Nine Tailed Fox clan give birth in a single day. Honestly, if we weren't hunted to near extinction, my Nine Tailed Fox Clan would be at the peak of existence on this continent due to how quickly we reproduce. So. I take it that you're here to claim my life? While I'm pathetically weak and giving birth to your own progeny?" Eleanor looked at him with sharp eyes without a shred of fear.

Kieran smiled softly and replied, "No. Honestly, I know next to nothing about divine beasts, and I won't tell a soul about what's happening. You do know, I don't exactly have what it takes to take responsibility. You'll have to take care of the child on your own."

While Kieran said this, it wasn't a cruel statement. That was simply the nature of the world he lived in now and it was completely normal.

A soft glimmer of hope appeared in her golden, cat-like eyes and she opened her mouth to reply but she cried out in pain instead and shut her eyes and snarled.

Kieran laughed softly and left the room without speaking another word.

As Kieran stood outside he decided to use his three free lottery rolls as he waited. It turned out to be futile and he gained a single trash spirit stone.

"Fuck. Well, let's see what this scrap option does."

[You have scrapped 1x Trash Tier Cultivation Talent]

[Scrap three items to gain one free lottery spin!]

"Interesting. Scrap all my low level loot."

[Congratulations, you have gained 1x lottery spin!]

"Spin." Kieran mumbled without much hope.

That taunting Jingle played again.

Du du du dee du du dee du du

"Buddha, Jesus, Allah, Krishna, deities everywhere, please let me get something good." Kieran preyed with crossed fingers and tightly shut eyes.

Ding!

Kieran opened a single eye and peeked.

[Congratulations! You have gained 1x Rare Cultivation talent increase pill! With this, you can increase your talent to a rare cultivation prodigy only seen one in a thousand cultivators! Enjoy your new rare cultivation talent, Host!]

"Fuck yes!" Kieran pumped his fist in the air and shouted, before looking at the shut door and moving away slightly and smiling like a lunatic.

Kieran said no more and simply focused on the 3x universal effectiveness ticket.

[Would you like to use your 1x Universal Triple Effectiveness Ticket on your 1x Rare Cultivation talent increase pill?]

[Yes] [No]

Kieran excitedly selected yes.

There was a bright flash of light and instantly a deep purple pill appeared in his palm.

[Congratulations! You have received 1x Mythical Grade Cultivation Talent increase pill! With this, you can increase your talent to a Mythical Cultivation Prodigy only seen in one in a trillion cultivators, and never before seen on this planet! Enjoy your new rare cultivation talent, Host!]

Kieran thought no further and took the pill instantly. He found this to be a mistake and all of a sudden his eyes began to shut and he passed out right there on the floor.

...

...

...

Hours later, faint high-pitched squeaks, tiny meows, and whimpers could be heard. Kieran opened his eyes and sat up feeling extraordinarily refreshed like he had slept the best he had ever before. Still hearing the noises that woke him, he did nothing and sat down in a small chair in the hallway, patiently awaiting the Sect Master, but surprisingly, he didn't have to wait for long.
