Entering the guild and walking to the quest board.
No one was suprised that the only monster killing quests are at the part of the beach that is closed off.
"So see any quest that is our time well spent or do you just want to pick one that is easy enough?" Alex asked Emma and Kuma because he honestly did not have a quest peak his interest.
(As long as i get to use rock armor i think its find so i dont have something that i want to pick out besides some of these monster names don't tell us anything so if i did i would have no idea what we are fighting.) Kuma was really wanting to use his new ability and Alex could not blame him because Alex felt the same.
"I mean you two want to fight that much is clear but there are not a lot of interesting monsters to fight unless you plan on bullying the sea spiders to bring broodmothers but we can only kill one maybe two so if more attack us would mean that we are done for." With that it would just mean that according to Emma that there was nothing special to fight.
(Hey Alex you could ask her if there is something to fight that his tentacles to see if its easy to get.) When Kuma told Alex this he felt stupid of course he could he just not done it because he was planning on doing it when he had a spot open again but ofcourse he could get it before he has a spot it would bring a new member to the team faster.
(Thanks for that Kuma i forget i could just do that.) Alex thanked Kuma before asking Emma if there is something with tentacles.
"You want to fight something with tentacles i mean there is but why?" Emma was very confused about Alex's request because of course there is actually a lot of sea monsters with tentacles and it is also very normal that monsters in higher ranks have tentacles because of how useful it is.
"I need it for when i can make another plushie like Kuma i use my mana and some materials." When Emma heard this she understood because even thought they had not talked about it Emma just thinks Alex is a summoner who gets weird summons instead of Alex having a weird affinity.
"Well if that's the case how about the deceiving jelly fish it has tentacles and stingers so prey only think it has stingers and stay away but the tentacles grab the prey and it is end of story for the prey its F+ rank and its big enough that the stingers will hurt but we are not seen as prey so we can have the advantage because it won't attack is first because it sees it as a waste of time and while it is in water its closer to shore when its low tide." With Emma's explanation Alex decided that was a good monster to kill and they found a quest for it they have to kill 3 of them why 3 Alex did not know but he won't complain but he decided to kill 4 so he has tentacles because you have to give the tentacles to the guild so if he gets 4 he can keep one.
They let the guild know about the quest and went on their way coming to the gate and showing the guard there that they were there for a quest they were let through and even though they were there earlier that day it seemed like more monsters came out the sea.
For every monster killed it felt like two took its place with this adventurers got good experience with fighting and coordination if they had a party but it was worrying with how many monsters where coming out the sea.
With the trio walked to the shore and went ankle deep in the water looking for the deceiving jelly fish while they walked along the shore line.
They did not have to walk for long before finding one and like Emma had said the deceiving jelly fish ignored them unfortunately for the jelly fish the humans did not ignore it.
F+ rank monster deceiving jelly fish.
Alex used his telekinesis and pulled the jelly fish out the water and slammed it down on the beach before it could even do anything Emma blasted it with a fire ball.
The jelly fish tried to grab Emma but Kuma send a earth claw before using rock armor which covered him in hard rocks except for the eyes making him almost look like some knight.
Kuma now covered in rocks punched the jelly fish and the jelly fish was beyond angry and decided to send all his tentacles towards Kuma and wanted to drag him towards its mouth.
But Kuma was to heavy being covered in rocks and it could not move Kuma a inch.
Alex took advantage of this and slammed his axe down on the jelly fish and ultimately killing the jelly fish.
"I say we use this strategy i pull them out the water and slam them onto the ground while Emma burns them after and Kuma punched it with his rock armor active." Alex told hid party and they nodded it was the easiest seeing how effective it is.
Killing the jelly fish was easier then they thought but finding them took the longest because the deceiving jelly fish does not form groups so finding more than one was a rare sight.
After killing the last jelly fish Alex let out a sigh he had hoped that the jelly fish where harder to kill but it was so easy that it was almost boring.
Kuma deactivated his rock armor and multiple rocks fell from Kuma's body and Alex had a great idea if Kuma deactivated his armor and there was a ambush Alex could use his telekinesis on the rocks and just throw it at them even if not all the rocks hit atleast one should hit and even if nothing hit it would still slow them down.
While they were walking back to the guild "how are you feeling Emma?" Alex just asked the girl he was just curious about it.
"I am feeling pretty good why do you ask?" Emma was a bit confused by the question but she did not mind.
"No reason i was just curious i mean even though killing the jelly fish was easy we still did two quests so i figured that i should ask." Alex really only asked to seem nice.
"Well since you asked me how are you and Kuma doing?" Emma asked him because only Alex could talk to Kuma but also because Alex usually does not really show his emotions there is almost no emotion showed on his face but she felt happy when he asked so she figured that maybe Alex would be happy about hearing that someone cares.
(You already know i am happy since i got to use rock armor.) Kuma answered the question without a care in the world.
"Well Kuma is happy because he could use rock armor so he is happy besides he did feel like he needed something new." Alex told Emma without realizing that he had not answered the full question.
"That's nice but how are you feeling i also asked about you?" Emma noticed that Alex had forgotten himself without noticing which the girl found odd.
"Oh right you did also ask about me well i feel completely fine i also dont have anything to feel sad about." With this Alex had answered the full question but he felt a bit happy that Emma asked about him even when he had forgotten himself it made him happy.
With their conversation coming to a end they also entered the Adventurers guild walking in they noticed the guild workers were a bit more busy then normal.
Walking to give the 3 tentacles from the deceiving jelly fish and get the quest rewards but Alex got curious and could not help but ask.
"Sorry but i can't help but notice that everyone here is more busy then normal so what is happening if i can know?" He asked the attendent while giving the tentacles to them.
"Oh its just that ships or getting attacked by monsters and the monsters on the beach seem to be increasing by the day and its getting very worrying." The attendent answered him while giving him 45 copper.
"I see that is something to worry about but i thought there would be safe routes for boats?" He replied.
"Of course and at times the stray monster attacks the boat but this is not a stray they just decided to attack boats so that is a problem." The attendent answered him.
Alex nodded and said bye to the attendent and walked back out with Emma.
