I was just roaming around the town exploring mainly the slum area. It wasn't far away from the orphanage. I thought of earning some money but for my luck no one seems interested in hiring a seven year old. I had two silver coins that I was given before leaving. These coins were enough to buy me four days worth of food. Also I don't have any place for night so I began to look somewhere cheaper.
After being refused from many places, i came at one place famous for not having any customers and this was about to be shut down. Just when I was about to enter the place a girl about the same age as me came running to me frightened by the two strange men chasing after her. "Mister Please save me from these monsters" the girl requested. I liked helping people in my previous life, i loved to see people smile when they get what needed. I enjoyed to see them happy because of me.
I knew that this girl needed my help and I stepped up. "Who are you guys and why are you chasing after her " I asked. "It's none of you business you brat, just step aside." Said the man while he took a swing with his sword in order to attack me. In my previous life i wasn't much of a man with strength. But in this world of magic I knew I was somewhat strong.
I used the high pressure water attack in order to take one of them down. Surprised by my attack the second one rushed towards me without thinking. I dodged his swing but due to my small body i wasn't able to use any high class attack for now despite the fact that I've successfully stabilized my two cores.
I was continuously dodging his attacks but it was getting harder and harder for this young body to keep up. It was good that man didn't knew any magic attacks. I managed to take him by surprise and used all of my mana to punch him hard. He got knocked down. Due to overuse of mana this body of mine got tired easily. I was about to turn back when I felt an electric shock running through my body. "You were more of a nuisance despite your age" said the girl as I was lying down on the ground with my body feeling paralyzed by the shock.
"These idiots can't even do their work properly" said the girl as she took my money from me. "So much for two silver coins" she said with a disgusting look on her face. How did I forgot that it's always survival of the fittest. Why do I let people use me. Why i believe people so easily. The other world where magic is reality and i am even in the slum area of that world right now. This isn't a place for weak. I have to get stronger. I have to do something. Concentrated my mana and stood up as I gathered my thoughts.
"I refuse, i refuse to let people use me." I shouted. " what are blabbering just stay right where you are, don't come any closer" she said. "You have to take responsibility, when you deceive people you have to have to be ready for consequences" I said as I was concentrating the mana to use water attack on her.
Then suddenly a girl stood between us and defended that other girl. Looking at her she seemed to be of noble origin and about the same age as me.
"I, Evelyn of the great house "pearce" stand against you to protect this girl. How dare you attack such a helpless girl in front of me" she said as her guards detained me. "I will see through that you receive befitting punishment of your crime." She said.
Ah.... of course these people, I hate, I resent them, those who act blindly on the path of justice, only to satisfy their hollow morals. The other girl wanted to rob me that's logical enough but the thing i often fail to understand is those people with high and mighty pride like the one noble standing before me. Though i am too tired to tell her and i doubt she would hear me. And on top of that she has authority much greater as she belongs to the "pearce" family. I've heard about them they have much greater influence on both continents that belong to us "descendants of demons."
"There's no need to be afraid of, tell me your name" she asked the girl. "It's kathy" the girl replied while sobbing with crocodile tears. "It's okay kathy come with me I will make him pay for doing this to you. " Said Evelyn while confronting kathy. "No ma'am it's alright (it's better for me not to be involved with her I might get exposed) my father might be worried if I stay too late, I shall go now. " Said kathy as she left towards her home.
"Ah....miss Evelyn" said a lady from behind. "Oh miss Luna you here?? Oh i forgot this is your establishment " said Evelyn. "Miss Evelyn can you make a request of you??? To let that young boy go? " asked Luna. "Well I would never refuse you miss Luna but this boy here is a criminal he used a high class magic on a helpless girl. "Evelyn said. "Well you know he's my nephew, he's been a problematic child ever since the day he born. His parents died at a young age that's why he is like this. I will punish him and make sure that this kind of thing never happen again. If you file criminal charges against him his future will be destroyed so please for me, this once please overlook my nephew's crime ma'am." Requested luna as she bowed down to Evelyn.
[Who's this lady and why's she helping me??? Why is she going this far for a stranger??] As I was only able to hear but too tired to say anything. I got unconscious after that.
