Chapter 16 - Wrath of the Unbroken

Benedict collided with Drevin like a meteor, his entire being compressed into a singular force of destruction. The sheer speed of Limit Break—Final Stage tore apart the air itself, a sonic boom ripping through the battlefield.Drevin barely had time to react. He had been preparing another rift, weaving the Weave into a defensive tear—his escape at the last second—But it wasn't fast enough.Benedict smashed through it.The Weave fractured, the half-formed rift shattered like fragile glass, its unstable edges flickering out of existence before it could fully open. And then—Impact.Benedict's sword, wreathed in Weave-forged power, slammed into Drevin's chest with unstoppable force. The explosion of energy that followed was colossal. The ground beneath them caved in, entire sections of the battlefield splintering apart. Shockwaves blasted outward, reducing ruins to rubble. The air burned with friction, turning the entire battlefield into a storm of devastation. For the first time in the fight—Drevin screamed. His body hurtled backward, streaking across the battlefield like a comet, crashing through a ruined archway, then another, and another—until his momentum finally stopped against a massive stone pillar. The force of impact split the pillar in half, dust and debris cascading in an avalanche.A deep, suffocating silence followed. Then—Drevin emerged from the wreckage, golden blood dripping from his mouth. His entire chest was caved in.For any other Weaver, the damage would have been instant death. But Drevin Korr was no ordinary man.His fingers twitched, and the Weave shuddered. Golden threads of energy wove through his shattered ribs, stitching him back together. Even as the wounds sealed, his breath came in ragged, uneven gasps. He wiped blood from his lips, his golden eyes flickering between rage and awe."…You actually hurt me."Benedict staggered. His body was breaking down from overuse of Limit Break. His vision blurred, reality itself warping at the edges. He had pushed beyond his limits—far beyond. And yet—Drevin was still alive.Still dangerous. And Kalen was still fighting.Drevin stepped forward, unscathed but for the golden blood trickling from the single wound Benedict had managed to inflict. He regarded the young Threadbinder almost fondly."You pushed beyond your limits," he mused. "And yet, even with all your might… you're still just a boy swinging at a god."He raised his hand. The Weave twisted.A final, obliterating strike—Then—A deafening explosion above them.A body came crashing down from the sky like a meteorite, slamming into the earth with such force that shockwaves blasted outward. Dust and debris erupted in every direction, sending Drevin stumbling back.Arcon Vespera had arrived.
