Chapter 1 - Prologue

"What are you still doing here? Take the child and run!" The man's voice broke through the tension of the moment. His wings unfurled—one as dark as night, the other glowing white—a half-demon, half-angel. His eyes, normally calm, were now filled with urgency.

The woman he spoke to was his wife, a living weapon and the leader of the Valkyrie. She didn't hesitate, her own wings appearing with a shimmer of divine light. There was no time to waste.

*Narrator*

In this world, there are three realms: Heaven at the top, Hell in the middle, and Earth at the bottom.

The rules of this world are as ancient as the realms themselves, governed by the three great stone tablets that lie hidden within each realm. These tablets hold the key to ascension, granting any being, no matter their origin, the power to become a god.

Many seek the tablet, driven by a thirst for power—some for control, others for the thrill.

---

Content of the Tablets:

1. Ascension: By touching the tablet, a being is granted a special power. Defeat someone from a higher realm, and you can ascend to the next one. Those in Heaven may remain neutral, but if defeated by someone from a lower realm, they must descend.

2. Descent: If one chooses to descend to a lower realm without the aid of the 13 Valkyries or the tablet's permission, their memories are erased, and part of their power is lost.

3. The 13 Valkyries: Once, there were 13 Valkyries—beings of immense power who could guide anyone in their quest. The Valkyries are capable of defying the very fabric of existence. However, their power is limited until the user unlocks their message. The Valkyries can take any form they desire.

4. The Protectors: Beings far beyond even the gods and Valkyries—known as the Protectors. They only intervene when Heaven cannot resolve matters through its inhabitants. When a crisis arises, they step in, ensuring balance is maintained across all realms.

*Now Back*

The man's voice trembled with a raw intensity. "Run! I'll hold off the Protectors. Don't let them learn of Ragnarok's existence. I'm sure it's those bastards in Heaven behind this. They must be the reason they're after us. Maybe I should have stayed and remained number one in the God rankings."

The woman met his gaze, her expression unreadable, but there was no mistaking the pain behind her eyes. "It's not your fault. If you had stayed in Heaven, we wouldn't have had this child... we wouldn't have had him, and we'd be living in peace." Her voice faltered, but she quickly steadied herself. "I just want him to grow up well. Right now, I don't care what happens to me. I just... I just want him to live a good life."

Her words hung heavy in the air. She swallowed hard, feeling the weight of the decision pressing down on her. She didn't want to say it aloud, but it was the truth. "You're an anomaly. No one thought it possible for an angel and a demon to have a child... yet here you are. And then there's our little Ragnarok, an even greater anomaly. A Valkyrie can't have a child. Even the Supreme Being himself said it was impossible. But he also told us that only when we encounter true love can anything be possible for us Valkyries. I guess they managed to convince the Protectors that our love, that we together, would disrupt the balance of the universe."

The man's jaw clenched. "I can feel their overwhelming presence. Go faster. Let me rush ahead and stall for time. Don't use your power, so they won't detect you."

Before she could reply, he was gone—a blur in the distance, vanishing with a resounding boom.

The woman didn't pause. She ran. Her mind raced as her body carried her towards the only hope she could find for their child: the orphanage.

She had to get there. She had to get him safe.

---

After what felt like an eternity, the storm showed signs of rain, aligning itself with the gravity of the moment. The rain fell hard, thunder cracking across the sky as she hurried through the storm. Her breath was shallow, her steps heavy. She looked down at her son, swaddled in his blanket, quiet and still in her arms.

The world was too dangerous for him. Too many forces were closing in, and she couldn't protect him. Her heart ached with the weight of the decision she was about to make.

In the distance, the orphanage came into view—a small, dim structure. She forced herself forward, refusing to falter.

At the doorstep, she gently placed him in a basket, the sound of the rain muffling his tiny cries. For a moment, she froze, her hands trembling. Slowly, she removed a thread bangle from her wrist, the one engraved with his name Ragnarok. She placed it in his small hands, brushing his cheek one last time.

Without another word, she turned and disappeared into the storm, her figure fading into the darkness.

---

As she moved farther away, two white figures appeared before her. Behind them, her husband emerged, his wings drenched but glowing faintly in the rain.

"Hope he's okay," he said quietly, his voice filled with worry.

She nodded. "He'll be safe."

Together, they ascended with the four figures, leaving the three realms behind. Far above the storm, they were locked away in a time-space prison, awaiting the day of their trial.

And beneath the storm, the child remained, unaware of the sacrifices made for him—a child destined to change the balance of the universe.
