Chereads / Flip the Coin [BL] / Chapter 17 - 17. Wish me Luck

Chapter 17 - 17. Wish me Luck

The next morning, I had only slept a few hours, but when I looked in the mirror, I was surprised. My injuries had healed, completely gone. Not only the fingerprints around my neck, even my eye. While my eye color turned even a bit redder than yesterday.

"Vampire?"

Today, without sunglasses, I took the bus to school, getting a few looks from other passengers. My eye color hadn't changed to an inhuman red; there was still enough brown that would not let people think I wore contact lenses. But when I looked into the light, it should be perceived as unusual.

Stepping out of the bus, I saw Chelsea with crutches stepping out of a car, waving at me with them in her hands while standing on a foot.

I walked to her,

"How are you?" I asked.

"Oh wow." She leaned a crutch against me and touched my face, moving it as she peered at my eyes.

"Your eyes....." She grinned, and I smiled.

"So, how's your foot?" I tilted my head, and she stared at my neck.

"Why are you all healed, and I am stuck with crutches forever? It's all your fault." She pouted sweetly.

"So spoiled, want me to carry you?" I asked with narrowed eyes; it should be a joke, but she nodded eagerly.

"Fine." I put my schoolbag, which wasn't filled with more than a notebook and pen anyway, to my chest, and crouched down with my back to her.

"That, I call a service!" She got on my back and dangled the crutches over my shoulders in front of me while I grabbed her tights.

"Ready?"

"Yes."

I stood up and started walking in the direction of the school.

"Are you going to tell the teacher?"

"About me getting injured in the run of Henry's attack on you? No, he had been through too much already."

"You know?"

"It is all over the school forum, everyone knows. Not only his name, the name of his sister, that she was murdered, the website, that he believes it was you."

"And you get on the back of a potential murderer?" I smirked.

"If he is hot…" She giggled.

"No. I know it wasn't you. I can judge people really accurately."

"Hah…" I thought of what she would say in the future, and started to doubt my ability. Maybe I have always been lucky with my predictions so far? Or…the future was changing. Or… everything would still come into place, everyone still thinking of me as a murderer in the near future.

"What, are you touched?" She asked me.

I chuckled,

"Yeah, a bit." We came to the gate, and the surrounding students stared at me, no idea if because of the forum, because of my eyes, or because I had a female classmate on my back who was injured herself.

Omar, Jordan, and Danny waited for me in front of the school entrance, the first two looking worried, while the latter's eyes lit up when he saw who I carried.

"What?" I asked the three when we arrived before them.

Jordan looked at Chelsea, and I noticed that he wanted to talk alone with me, but Danny blurted it out already.

"The cops are here."

I put Chelsea down cautiously and my school back to my back. Looking up, I saw blue eyes that had watched me, up in a classroom, through the window.

"Got it." Looking back at Chelsea, I saw her blowing me a kiss while clumsily balancing her clutches before limping to a few girls on the side.

"The directors' office?" I turned to Jordan, who nodded. The guys accompanied me as we made our way upstairs.

"We saw them coming in and disappearing in the office, then a teacher told us we should notify you to come upstairs."

"Why are you here so early?" I put my hands in my pockets as we took the next staircase.

"Worried." Omar said.

"I was in the morgue last night, with Henry." All three collectively stopped, and Denny's mouth fell open.

Omar reached for his chin to close Danny's mouth after he returned from his stupor.

"He stalked me; we fought more or less; I used my ability; he believed it more or less; he asked me if I could 'read' a corpse, and yeah."

"What did you see?" Jordan asked.

"I saw Henrietta's past. But something was wrong; it seemed she was not herself; maybe my ability isn't working properly."

"Your eyes." Omar came closer to me.

"Yeah, apparently they get red sometimes, and since yesterday they are even redder."

"What is happening here?" Jordan put his sunglasses on his head, looking me in the eyes and seeing my injuries healed.

"Vampire?" Danny looked between us, and I chuckled at the similar way of thinking.

"When someone bleeds, come to me." Licking my lips, I saw Danny's eyes lighting up.

"It was a joke; go away. If you injure yourself, go to a doctor and don't come to me." Pushing Danny away that came too close, I heard him whine before hanging himself on me.

I let him and half dragged him up to the highest floor.

"Wish me luck." I smiled warily and peeled Danny off me.

I got my back patted and knocked on the door, entering after hearing a 'come in'.

First time being a murder suspect, first interrogation with the police. Yaiy.
