Chapter 12 - A NIGHT TOGETHER AT THE HOTEL ROOM

** Episode 12 **

As he prepared to step inside, he felt a light tap on his shoulder. Turning around, he was surprised to see the same girl again standing behind him like a ghost. Is she stalking him now? He thought.

"You again?" they both exclaimed in unison. She was as well surprised to see him again. His he following me around, she thought. When she thought she was mistakenly when she saw him from behind, but she wasn't.

"Are you stalking me?" Min-Jun asked, raising an eyebrow.

She shot him an unbelievable glance. "Oh, please. Stalking you? what're you again, a demi-god? You must be quite proud of that attitude of yours." She tease and kissing her teeth and then, she went on, "What brings you here?"

"That should be my question. Aren't you heading home?" he replied.

"I'm getting a room. Dusk is almost here. And you?"

Min-Jun observe her for a moment, was this truly a coincidence meet or she's actually following him? or does she have something else in mind? He took him quite enough time before he replied her.

"Same here. I need a room for the night aswell." He finally responded after a long stare from her.

"Really? You're going to spend the night here? Isn't this place a bit too... local for someone in your status?"

"Not at all! I love keeping a low profile," he lied, trying to sound convincing.

She shook her head and walked inside, it was so obvious she didn't believed the trash that came out from his mouth. His restless eyes could tell he's lying.

They approached the receptionist and requested two rooms. However, when the receptionist quoted the price for the cheapest room, they both gasped in disbelief.

"That much for the cheapest room?" they exclaimed in unison.

The receptionist nodded, looking a bit amused. "Yes, that's correct."

Min-Jun look around, it seem more like an ancient motel than normal. Everything was way too old and old fashion. An hotel as old as this in Seoul won't even cost this much, he thought.

"But I thought this was the cheapest hotel around here,"

"That's true," she replied calmly staring at both of them.

"Then how can a room cost this much in a village like this?" he asked, bewildered.

"Aren't you two a couple?" the receptionist inquired, raising an eyebrow and smiling.

They look at each other disgustingly and chimed at once, "Nooo! Never!"

"Just a guess. But you two look so cute together.... "

" No we don't!" They chimed again curtly, turning to themselves and looking away disgustingly.

The receptionist continue, "Actually, we have a special giveaway and package, but it's meant only for couples." She explained.

"Really?" she asked, her interest piqued and the receptionist nodded enthusiastically, keeping the straight smile on.

"We have a special couple's room prepared and it 50 percent off to what you're supposed to pay, and it comes with a free bottle of strong wine for the night." She explained and made little laughter.

Really?" she asked, her interest piqued and the receptionist nodded again enthusiastically, shinny her brown set of teeth.

That's a great deal she thought, a mischievous idea forming in her mind. It's just a night, pretending to be a couple won't cost a life, she thought, a smile parted her lips.

She turned to Min-Jun who seem completely worn out, took his hand playfully began to say softly and sweetly, making the babies eyes.

"Honey, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. Let's just forget everything that happened and enjoy our time as the lovely couple we are."

"What?" Min-Jun murmured, confused and taken aback by her sudden weird attitude and the receptionist as well.

"Are you two a couple?" the receptionist asked, confused.

Min-Jun quickly shook his head still very much unaware of the situation on down, but she interjected, "Oh, don't mind him! We just had a little misunderstanding, you know how it is with couples. We'll sort it out, right, honey?" She said, looking up at Min-Jun eyes, wicking, trying to get him to understand the situation.

"What are you talking about?" Min-Jun whispered, still not getting it.

"Shhhh," she replied, putting a finger to his lips trying her positive best to act sexy but it was getting of no use and her frustration was slowly rising.

Min-Jun continued, "We can't possibly share a room. We're not—"

Before he could finish, she playfully elbowed him in the stomach, then turned back to the receptionist with a bright smile, pretending like nothing just happened.

The receptionist was force to smiled back and handed them a key along with a bottle of wine. With a playful tug, she pulled Min-Jun along with her, leaving him bewildered but oddly intrigued by the unexpected turn of events.

They opened the door to the small room, stepping inside to find it adorned with lovely floral wallpaper and vibrant red accents. A quaint round wooden table held a bottle of wine and two cups, while two wooden chairs flanked the table. A bed with a cozy red blanket lay on the floor, and an old-fashioned wall clock ticked softly in the background.

She settled into one of the wooden chairs as she examined the wine bottle. Her acting was quite impressive only for some block head to almost ruin it.

"Why did you lie about us being married?" Min Jun asked, standing at her face with his hands on his waist.

"I did it to save money, you silly goose," she replied, placing the bottle back down with a playful smirk.

"Really? And why did you hit me so hard?" he pressed, rubbing his stomach, where she had struck him.

"Well, I figured you sound better with your mouth closed," she shot back, a teasing glint in her eyes.

At this point, it all started to make sense. He was really stupid not to understand and play alone. How he almost mess thing up when he needed the money the most.

He scan around the room, it had just one bed with no couch. Does this mean we're going to be sharing a bed together?

"Okay, but where do you expect me to sleep?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Here, of course," she. reply, standing up and heading to the bed.

"What? You mean we're spending the night here together? Aren't you worried I might do something to you?" he asked, his gaze following her and she seem fearless and not bothered.

"You've spent your whole life being a jerk. Why not take a day off?" she replied and then, a shrug.

He shook his head to her braving, head to the table and pour himself a glass of wine.

"So, what's your plan from here?" Her voice came up.

"Plan?" He thought and scoffed. There's definitely no plan. He'd tried using the public phone to call manager Ma but it just wasn't connecting. After several attempt, he give up.

"Home," He murmured even when he knew there's no home anywhere.

"Home?" She stuffed, leaving the bed and joining him at the table. She pour herself a little, take a sip and went on, "You look a bit lost to me, and your earlier lies were pretty flimsy. You'll need to do better next time," she said.

So she knew he had been lying all along. That must have been why she reacted the way she did. He needed to think of a better way to save himself from this girl with the attitude and quickly, he came up with something.

With a falling face, he begin, "You're right, I'm homeless, I got lost when I lost my memories," he lied, his voice dropping.
