"These are for your wounds," she said, kneeling beside him. "You shouldn't ignore them, no matter how minor they seem."
Xiao Tian chuckled. "You're always looking out for me, Yueling. Thank you."
Her emerald-green eyes met his, a faint blush coloring her cheeks. "It's nothing. I just…don't like seeing you hurt."
As she carefully applied the herbs, her hands brushed against his skin, sending a strange warmth through him.
"Xiao Tian," she began hesitantly, "I've lived a simple life as a soul beast. I never thought I'd meet someone like you—a human who values life and kindness."
She paused, her hands trembling slightly. "You've shown me a world beyond survival. A world where I can…belong."
Xiao Tian reached out, placing a reassuring hand over hers. "You'll always have a place with me, Yueling. You're part of this family now."
Her eyes glistened with unshed tears, and she smiled. "Thank you, Xiao Tian. I'll do my best to stay by your side, no matter what."
