Chereads / From Zero to Sorcerer: Mastering the Forbidden Marks / Chapter 6 - The Key to the Breakthrough

Chapter 6 - The Key to the Breakthrough

The essence of a wizard lies in using the exploration of truth by both the collective and the individual as a lever, to pry open changes in both the body and mind, ultimately achieving a fundamental transformation in status, touching the profound and mysterious truth of the world!

A wizard apprentice, marked by the ability to manipulate energy particles, has only knocked on the door of the wizarding world.

To truly enter the door, to glimpse the wisdom accumulated by generations of wizards, and even to immerse oneself in it, climbing upwards in search of truth, becoming a true wizard becomes an unavoidable challenge!

If one doesn't become a wizard, they are merely standing at the door, indulging themselves in a hollow pursuit.

Alas...

Reg is currently such an apprentice.

A third-ring wizard apprentice, years of accumulation have allowed him to reach the peak of the apprentice ranks, but have not enabled him to truly step into the wizarding realm.

His continuous efforts thereafter are all aimed at weaving spell models, and "becoming a true wizard" has become his obsession.

Unfortunately...

Without becoming a wizard, there is not enough mental power, and without sufficient mental power, it is naturally difficult to carve spell models into the sea of consciousness.

Without spell models, energy particles accumulate slowly and scatter easily, slowing the transformation of both the body and mind, which in turn hinders the qualitative change of mental power.

Thus, it forms a vicious cycle, known as the "wizard lock," which is why there is a division in the ranks of wizards—"rings."

From the first-ring wizard to the eighth-ring wizard, none are free from the torment of the wizard lock.

As for whether ninth-ring wizards have their own troubles... that's something Reg can't concern himself with.

He only knows that the first-ring wizard's lock has held him for two whole years, and he still can't see the light of dawn!

However, today, he seems to have seen a faint glimmer of hope:

If the "spell remnants" really exist, and if he's fortunate enough to guide and imprint them into his sea of consciousness...

The spell model will transform into an "all-weather self-operating" model, actively guiding the hidden mental power, drawing external energy particles into the body, and continuously transforming it.

Suddenly, the "inflow" of energy particles will far exceed the "outflow"!

The first-ring wizard lock between apprentices and wizards will be shattered with a single push!

One could say that once the spell model is successfully imprinted, it's only a matter of time before he achieves the first-ring wizard status.

Thinking of this, Reg finds it hard to stay calm:

"Just now, the formation of the spell model seemed a bit odd. Perhaps there's a method hidden within, maybe a chance for myself?"

His mind races, on the verge of retracing the steps, when suddenly his heart skips a beat.

Although deeply focused, Reg hasn't lost his awareness of his surroundings, always leaving room for self-protection.

Thus, the strange change of the black triangle didn't escape his perception.

The three-dimensional black triangle had been floating in the air, spinning on its own. Now, it slowly paused and folded repeatedly, returning to its original two-dimensional triangular form.

The entire process seemed to be connected with the fiery gloves. Reg, with a thought, closed off the energy particle channel of the spell, and the black triangle also paused. Then, it suddenly trembled and floated toward him.

Reg's heart raced, and he dared not touch the strange black triangle, but his thoughts shifted, and he forcefully suppressed his instinct to avoid it.

Without entering the tiger's den, how could one catch the tiger cub? If one is unwilling to take risks, how can they achieve what others cannot?

On the surface, he is cautious, avoiding "unnecessary risks," but deep down, he has an adventurous spirit.

If it weren't for that, with an adult's early planning, not to mention seizing the position of a viscount, living comfortably would be easy. Why then would he venture into the mysterious and perilous wizarding world?

Thus, his thoughts surged, a multitude of ideas bubbling up. In the end, he chose to observe the situation.

The result proved he didn't gamble wrongly—at least, the black triangle didn't bring him harm. It simply landed on his hand, quietly attaching itself to form an "ordinary" tattoo.

Reg lowered his head, raising his hand, his gaze fixed on the black triangle "tattoo."

The scene from earlier flashed through his mind: the fiery gloves burned the "Bloodline Studies Notes," the black triangle on the goatskin flew out, triggering a series of changes.

"Could it be... that the black triangle can create 'spell remnants'?"

This hypothesis was so outlandish that no one would believe it if told.

He of course understood the "meaning" behind it, and as he spoke this possibility, his voice trembled slightly.

He undoubtedly hoped that the "black triangle possessed mysterious powers," but that expectation was coupled with anxiety.

It was like hearing a lottery number, vaguely remembering that it might have been his, both excited and nervous, afraid it was all just a dream...

Suddenly, Reg chuckled to himself:

"Why think so much? Have I forgotten even the basic methods of a wizard? One experiment will tell me!"

With that, he pushed aside the complicated emotions and returned to a calm experimental state, no longer letting external matters affect his mood. Everything was for the sake of results.

He closed his eyes, replaying the memory from earlier, sorting out the key details.

Opening his eyes again, he took out a book, its hard brain-membrane cover, edged with vibrant red patterns, giving it a very mysterious appearance.

This was a hand-copied version of "The Red Moon Heart of Ural: From Beginner to Master," which, besides basic knowledge and correct spell models, had slight magical assistance to help beginners learn quickly.

Reg took a deep breath, holding the "Red Moon Heart" with one hand, while the hand with the black triangle stretched out, slowly approaching...

When his fingertip touched the "Red Moon Heart," the black triangle did not react.

With a thought, he opened a small slit for the energy particles on the back of his hand, and the black triangle began to stir, as if wanting to detach from his skin!

Reg understood immediately, closed the small slit, and increased the distance between the book and his hand.

He thought for a moment, put the book away, and took out a sheet of Aisha parchment.

A virtual black feathered pen appeared in his hand, and soon began sketching on the parchment.

Reg had already memorized the spell model, so drawing it was a smooth process. He even tried to solidify the model on the paper, which, as expected, ended in failure.

In no time, a drawing of the Red Moon Heart took shape, with seven two-dimensional structures that, through special techniques, gave a hint of three-dimensionality.

Focusing on it, it almost seemed like one could see a hazy red moon, the moonlight shining on a person, commanding the energy particles to repeatedly wash over the heart, using blood as a medium to penetrate the flesh, reversing human nature...

If an ordinary person saw this, without the foundational runic adjustments for the particle flow, they would feel nauseous and even experience a dull pain in their heart!

Reg snapped back to reality, no longer experimenting. He picked up the drawing with the hand that had the black triangle tattoo.

His mental power first controlled the energy particles to form a barrier layer, then it surged out, drawing the external energy particles to form spell flames.

The flames instantly ignited the Aisha parchment, and ashes flew everywhere...

In the next moment, the black triangle indeed wriggled off his hand, repeatedly expanding into a distorted black three-dimensional shape!
