Chapter 13 - A black file

Silas's POV

"Did you get hurt? Do you need my help to stand up?"

Damon offered his help, but I had already gotten up on my own. I didn't need anyone's assistance.

"There's no need," I said and continued taking my shower. After finishing, I wore a white T-shirt paired with his black jacket and black pants.

Once I was ready and opened the room's door, Damon was standing right there, scrolling through his phone.

"Why are you standing here? Wait, don't tell me you've been standing here all this time."

Is Damon a pervert? Why was he standing outside the bathroom?

"I thought if you fell again, I'd be here to help," he said.

His words sounded unreasonable to me, so I touched his shoulder, pushed him aside, and walked forward.

"Fine, then. I'm leaving now," I said as I moved toward the door. But suddenly, I felt a grip on my hand, and he pulled me close to him in one swift motion.

"Where do you think you're going? You're a rogue, aren't you? So you're definitely not heading to the pack, right?"

He held both of my hands tightly, his eyebrows furrowed as he stared intently at me.

"Damon, did you forget that I can take you down too? How dare you forcibly grab my hand?"

The moment I said that, he immediately let go of my hand. He scratched the back of his head with one hand and bit his lower lip.

"Silas, can we sit and talk calmly?"

He spoke politely, and just by looking at his expression, it was clear that it was something important. But I had a slight suspicion that he was going to talk about acting again.

"Alright," I said.

He extended his hand, gesturing for me to step outside, and started walking out of the room. I followed closely behind him.

As soon as I stepped out of the room, I saw that the mansion was enormous. There were numerous rooms, and the one I had just exited had two rooms adjacent to it.

The doors of these rooms were painted grey. On the door to the right, there was a tag hanging that read "Do not enter," while the door to the left had "Teddy Bear" written on it.

Beyond that, there was a staircase. Damon was descending it, and I followed closely behind him. As soon as we reached the living room, there was a girl standing there, holding a black file in her hand.

Her long blue hair shimmered, and her red eyes stood out. She was tall—probably taller than me.

Damon walked up to her and took the black file from her. When he stood in front of her, the girl looked short in comparison. But her cheeks were red, and she was blushing while looking at Damon.

I stood silently behind Damon without saying a word, as he was busy reading the file he had just opened.

While he focused on that, I glanced around the room. That's when my eyes met the girl's. I smiled at her, but she started glaring at me.

I didn't even know her—it was the first time we had met today—yet she was staring at me in such an odd way.

Well, I wasn't the type to back down, so I started staring right back at her. Eventually, she averted her gaze. Just then, Damon turned toward me.

"Why are you standing there? Come and sit here."

Damon offered me a seat on the sofa and sat down himself. I glanced at the girl one last time before sitting next to him.

"You can leave now," Damon said to the girl.

Hearing his words, her face showed clear dissatisfaction, but she didn't say anything. She simply glared at me one more time before leaving the room.

I was looking at Damon, but his gaze was fixed on the girl. He kept watching her until she left the mansion. Only then did he turn toward me.

"So, Silas, my company is producing a drama where the main character is an Omega."

Leaning my back against the sofa, I listened to what Damon was saying.

"You must have heard of Gold Era Entertainment—it's mine. And I'm serious about making you a big star."

The determination in his eyes was unmistakable. He truly seemed committed to turning me into a star.

If I think about it, this isn't such a bad opportunity. Because if I become an actor, my career will be set.

But I don't know how to act, and I feel like I should stay away from Damon. For some reason, I think I can sense his pheromones, something I've never been able to sense from any other Alpha.

An old man from our pack once told me that I would only be able to sense my mate's pheromones. Until then, I wouldn't feel anything from any Alpha.

And all of this seems to be happening too quickly, maybe even rushed. My life is already off track, and I don't want to complicate it any further.

I was lost in my thoughts when I suddenly felt Damon's hand on mine. I looked at him.

"You're saying yes, right?" he asked.

He was waiting for my answer, but I couldn't figure out what to say. For a moment, I closed my eyes. As soon as I did, that scene replayed in my mind—where Zarek chose Ciel over me, leaving me standing there, helpless.

No one in that pack ever respected me.

When I opened my eyes, Damon was looking at me, clearly confused about why I had suddenly closed them.

I stared at his face, but no words came out of my mouth. Just then, I heard Damon's voice.

"Ironclaw pack's Silas. Eighteen years old. You were engaged to Zarek, the Crown Prince there, since childhood. But on your eighteenth birthday, which was just a few days ago, he rejected you and accepted your stepbrother instead."

As soon as Damon's words reached my ears, my eyes widened in shock.

"After you left your pack, you ended up in the hands of your old enemies. That's when my mom and dad s

aved you, and you ended up in our mansion."

I couldn't understand how Damon knew all of this.
