Chapter 2 - Becoming Peter Parker

7: 00 a.m.

New York City

Forest Hills

20 Ingram Street

A gentle voice came from downstairs, cutting through the quiet morning.

"Peter! Come down for breakfast! You're going to be late for school!"

The old wooden stairs creaked as Peter Parker slowly made his way down, rubbing his eyes and yawning. His short brown hair stuck out in all directions, giving him that typical bedhead look.

"Don't worry, Aunt May! I've got time!"

In the kitchen, Aunt May—white-haired but still lively—leaned out to look at him, her expression a mix of love and exasperation.

"You always say that, Peter. One day, you'll walk into class right as the bell rings!"

The kitchen was as spotless as ever. The utensils were neatly arranged, the spices perfectly lined up, and not a single dish was out of place. Even though the furniture was old, everything was kept in excellent condition. It was a reflection of Aunt May's meticulous and patient nature.

At the table sat Uncle Ben, flipping through the morning newspaper while sipping his coffee. His graying hair was neatly combed, and his black-rimmed glasses gave him a scholarly appearance. Despite his age, he still looked tough, with a quiet strength that hadn't faded over the years.

"Come sit down, kiddo," Ben called, pulling out a chair. "And listen to your aunt. She's right—you cut things way too close."

Peter grinned and dropped into the chair.

"Yeah, yeah. You two worry too much."

Aunt May placed a steaming plate of syrup-covered muffins in front of Peter, then gave him a soft pat on the shoulder.

"Eat up, honey. You don't want to go to school on an empty stomach."

Peter grabbed a muffin, taking a big bite. The warm, sweet taste made him smile.

Ben glanced up from his paper. "Hey, May, have you noticed something about Peter lately?"

"What do you mean?"

Ben folded the newspaper and gestured toward Peter. "He's looking stronger. Not as scrawny as before."

Aunt May nodded. "You're right. I saw some dumbbells in his room the other day. He must be exercising."

Ben chuckled. "Good. New York's a rough place. A little strength will help him stay out of trouble."

After finishing breakfast, Peter grabbed his schoolbag and stood up.

"Thanks for breakfast! I'm off!"

"Be careful, Peter," Aunt May called as he headed for the door.

The door slammed shut behind him. Aunt May and Uncle Ben exchanged a fond glance.

"He's growing up so fast," Aunt May said softly.

Ben nodded, a thoughtful look in his eyes. "Yeah. I just hope he stays out of danger."

---

Outside, the cool morning air greeted Peter as he walked down the front steps of the house. He took a deep breath, feeling more awake now.

Just as he reached the sidewalk, he felt a light tap on his shoulder.

"Good morning, Peter!"

Turning around, Peter saw Gwen Stacy standing behind him with a bright smile on her face.

Under the warm glow of the morning sun, Gwen's golden-blonde hair seemed to shimmer. Her creamy white skin practically glowed, and her blue eyes sparkled with warmth.

"Hey, Gwen!" Peter greeted, unable to stop himself from smiling.

They had grown up together, living next door to each other for years. Gwen was his best friend and his childhood sweetheart, though neither of them had ever said it out loud.

"You seem distracted this morning," Gwen said, tilting her head slightly. "Everything okay?"

Peter chuckled. "Yeah, just thinking about… stuff."

Gwen rolled her eyes. "Well, don't think too hard. You might hurt yourself."

Peter laughed, but his mind wasn't entirely on the conversation. He couldn't stop thinking about the countdown timer in the corner of his vision.

[System Loading: 2:58:17 Remaining]

The mysterious Heaven Realm Technology System was almost ready to activate. It had appeared the moment he transmigrated into Peter Parker's body a month ago.

At first, Peter had been confused, unsure of where he was or what had happened. But it didn't take long for him to realize that he was in the Marvel Universe.

He was Peter Parker now. The boy who would become Spider-Man.

But at this moment, Peter hadn't been bitten by the radioactive spider yet. He was still just a regular kid.

However, that would change today.

Today, Midtown High School was organizing a visit to the Tech Fair.

Peter knew exactly what was going to happen.

The bite. The transformation. The birth of Spider-Man.

But this time, things would be different.

Peter glanced at Gwen as they walked toward school together. He knew her fate, too.

In Earth-65, Gwen became Spider-Woman, and Peter… Peter didn't survive. He became the Lizard, and Gwen had to stop him.

But this wasn't Earth-65. This was a new world—a mix of different universes.

Peter had seen Iron Man, Daredevil, and other heroes on TV. This world was more like the MCU, but with twists.

The timelines were mixed, the stories overlapping.

Peter smiled to himself.

With the system at his disposal, he wouldn't follow the same tragic path as the Peter Parker he knew.

---

As they approached the school, Gwen nudged him playfully.

"You've been quiet lately," she said. "Seriously, what's on your mind?"

Peter shrugged. "Just thinking about the future."

"That's a first."

Peter laughed, but inside, his thoughts were racing.

The system would finish loading in a few hours, just in time for the Tech Fair.

Whatever powers it granted him, he would use them to reshape his destiny.

No more relying on luck. No more tragic endings.

This time, Peter Parker would forge his own path.

And Spider-Man would be more than just a hero.

He would be a technological force that no one could stop.
