Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: „Behind the curtain”

Hera sat quietly for the first time in a long while, when she was completely alone. The light in her room seemed oddly dimmed. The cold breeze coming through the window brushed against her face, but she felt nothing, only the palm of her hand, covered in dust, resting on the support. Only silence filled the room with her.

Her life, just like her family, had never been ordinary. For a long time, something had been hidden that could no longer remain a secret. Her parents' power and influence — there was only one thing they had known their entire lives: the tragedy of their daughter, which they had carefully kept hidden. But as the days passed, disappointment grew larger and larger in Hera's heart. She felt that time was not giving her a second chance.

Life only existed beyond the curtain — shrouded in secrets, yet everything needed to be set free.

Then Hera's life and her beloved city were about to change. A beginning and an end, both with a single common goal: the search for the truth, which she had started to find.

When the knock on the door echoed, Hera's body tensed. She quickly bent down, as if resisting the truth.

"Hera," the voice was clear. "I know you're here. I know you'll find out everything."

The voice of a tall man, whom she could not see, but whom she held deep inside her heart, was Park Hye-jun. Her hope, but also her enemy.

Hera's heart raced when the knock came again. She didn't recognize this voice, but did she know it? When the door opened, a silhouette appeared, dressed in a dark suit, standing firmly with his shoulders set.

"I don't think you have an alternative," Park Hye-jun said, his eyes carrying a burden that he could no longer bear himself. He was the person Hera had always seen as a pillar for her fears and questions, but this time, something was different in his expression. Something dangerous.

Hera paused for a moment and met his dark eyes. His words seemed to block the door, as if he was never in the place where Hera stood. However, when Hye-jun fell silent, it felt like there was something else behind him. Something larger and more dangerous between them.

"What do you want?" Hera asked, her voice loud and defined. It had changed, as if something was hiding behind a mask that wasn't so secret anymore.

Hye-jun grabbed her throat with bare hands and, in a firm yet calm voice, said:

"My father's actions reflect our future. It doesn't matter how much you think you can cover it all up. The time has come."

At these words, Hera only felt pain. Her inner voice screamed in her mind. "What do you want?"

"We need to carry this together," Hye-jun said. "You have nothing left. They will surely destroy us."

Hera stood up, her eyes cold. When another voice sounded behind the door.

"Hera!" Choi Sora shouted, her twin sister, for whom Hera's life had always been deep and secret.

Sora entered the room, her face sad but firm. Her sister's character had always protected the strong and clever, but now there was nothing on her face except fear.

"Do you think you can do this, Hera?" Sora spoke to her, her eyes staring at Hye-jun. "I'm here too, for you. But be careful, they still know."

Hera hesitated, her eyes reflecting fear once more. But she had no time for thinking. As always, Sora was ready to stand by her side, but there was only one reason for that.

"It's time for us to truly learn what's going on," Hera said aloud, looking at both of them.

The answer was so strangely firm that the room fell into complete silence. They stood before her, beyond the curtain — in the tremors of the future and beyond the secrets.
