Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

Angelo's POV

"Chinny, hurry up. Do you know what time it is? You're going to be late for your class!" I shouted, already outside, sitting comfortably inside the car.

"I'm coming!" she yelled while running toward my car. I opened the door for her. She was still fixing her slightly damp hair.

I shook my head and started the engine. She's almost late.

"I thought you were going to your dad's office," I glanced at her briefly and saw her smile.

"Yeah, but that's later. I thought I'd drop you off first," I caught a glimpse of her smiling through my peripheral vision. "I can just hang out in your faculty room."

Everything is smooth sailing between me and Chinny. It's been two weeks since she tried to surprise me, and it was one hell of a surprise—one of the best I've ever experienced.

"I'll pick you up later," I said as we reached the university entrance.

"Is it a date? You're getting too comfortable," she said grimly. I just laughed and handed her bag to her.

"I won't take no for an answer, sweetheart. Now go, or your students might think there are no classes today," she glared at me.

We seem like a normal couple now. Things are finally stable between us, unlike when everything was a mess.

"Damn it! Sweetheart? What am I, old? That endearment is for the elderly," she eyed me menacingly. I burst out laughing. She was about to turn away, but I grabbed her arm and kissed her on the cheek.

I won't allow her to leave without a single kiss.

"Damn you, Gelo! You thief!" she grumbled in annoyance. She was about to hit me with her bag, but I quickly ran away, laughing.

Chinny's POV

"What should I do? That damn Khairro is such a pain," Farley groaned while on a video call with me. I stared at her. It was lunch break, and she was going through something. Complaints here and there. "I'm so embarrassed around him, it's killing me," she added.

We were on Discord, talking about her frustrations.

"Idiot, just confront him. You've been thinking about this for days," Astrid suggested.

"Maybe you're starting to have a crush on Khairro," Karma rolled her eyes. "Remember, Far. He may be your worst Karma."

"Farley can't face Khairro because she's scared of being rejected," I said, making everyone fall silent. We were all present, even Jessa, pretending to be interested.

"What exactly did you do to him, Far? Don't tell me you did something stupid. Look, just gather the courage to talk to him so you two can clear things up," Karma advised.

"Just ask him first. Khairro doesn't even have an idea about your feelings. He doesn't know you're starting to fall for him," Astrid said, shaking her head. "Girls, I need to go." She exited the call.

"Here's the thing, Far," Jessa suddenly turned on her camera, making me look at her. "Like Astrid and Karma said, ask him first. If he rejects you, accept it and pretend like it never happened. You already know how you feel about him and won't lose anything by confessing. What's wrong with just asking him? It's as simple as that. Anyway, I have to go too."

Out of annoyance, I might as well end the call. Something I shouldn't remember suddenly crossed my mind. I decided to take a walk and get some fresh air. Teaching is challenging, but I'd rather do this than something else.

As I walked toward the admin building to talk to the security guard, I spotted Angelo and Dagger Lohmeyer. I think he was trying to convince Dagger to invest here. I stopped in my tracks.

Angelo is important to me now—to the point that if I lost him, I'd probably go crazy with sadness. With the way he shows his love, I know he holds a more prominent place in my heart than Kilorn.

"My love!" Angelo called out, smiling. I shot him a glare while Dagger chuckled.

"'My love,' huh? Earlier, it was 'sweetheart,' now it's 'my love.' What's next? You're so annoying," I grumbled, but I felt a little giddy deep inside.

Dagger burst into laughter. I hope he chokes on it.

"Grumpy, I just wanted to remind you about our date. I love you," Angelo said as he took my things. "I'll drop you off wherever you want. That idiot Dagger, stay here—I'll be back for you." He pulled me along as he laughed.

"Fuck you, Gelo! I don't mind if you never come back!" Dagger yelled.

"My love, I missed you," Angelo said as we walked down the hallway. I felt my face heat up.

"We were just together earlier," I said, shaking my head. But honestly, I was feeling giddy. He's just so good with flowery words. It's impressive.

"Even if it's just for a minute, I don't want you out of sight. But what can I do? We don't share the same class," he said as we stopped before my classroom. "So now that we're okay, don't disappear from me again."

I frowned at his words and pinched his cheek before smiling.

"Disappear? I'm not going anywhere," his eyes widened in surprise at what I said.

"Ah... I just meant, don't disappear later and forget our date," he said before kissing my forehead.

"See you later, my love," he added.

I just nodded as he walked away.
