Chapter 46 - Skills

After his encounter with the Fire Spirit and absorbing its abilities, Satoru felt a wave of mental exhaustion hit him. Though his slime body didn't physically tire, the constant tension of combat and adapting to new abilities left him craving a moment of peace.

He slithered over to a safe-looking corner of the cave, away from the sounds of scuttling creatures, and decided to take a break.

As he rested, an idea suddenly came to him. His mind wandered back to his old world and all the countless hours he had spent watching action-packed movies, intense anime fights, and instructional videos on martial arts. Those were some of his fondest memories, and they had filled him with endless fascination about combat techniques.

"Hey, Great Sage," Satoru called out, his voice calm but intrigued.

"Do you have access to my memories? Like, all of them?"

Satoru smirked, his mental exhaustion beginning to fade as excitement bubbled up. "Perfect! So, can you scan through all the movies, anime, and fight videos I've ever watched? Y'know, stuff like martial arts, swordsmanship, battle strategies, all of it. See if you can integrate them into my fighting style."

There was a brief pause before Great Sage responded.

"Only 0.7 seconds? Show-off," Satoru chuckled.

Satoru's smile widened. "Oh, absolutely! Let's do this."

Satoru waited, feeling a slight tingling sensation within his core. Soon, Great Sage's voice returned.

"Combat Simulation, huh? That sounds insane!" Satoru exclaimed. "Can you show me some examples of what I can do now?"

**

Martial arts techniques optimized for your slime body, such as fluid grapples and elastic strikes.

Swordsmanship techniques using Steel Thread or water blades as substitutes for physical weapons.

Energy-based attacks inspired by fictional sources, adjusted for your current magicule levels.>**

"Whoa, whoa, wait. You're telling me I can fight like my favorite anime characters now?!"

Satoru laughed, the excitement surging through him like never before. "This is unreal! I'm basically a fighting god in training! Alright, Great Sage, you've outdone yourself."

"Definitely. Let's make sure I use every bit of knowledge I've got. After all, I've got to be ready for whatever this world throws at me."

Feeling exhilarated with his newfound powers, Satoru couldn't help but let his mind wander to the potential for even greater abilities. The thought sparked curiosity, and he decided to consult his ever-reliable companion.

"So, Great Sage," Satoru asked, his tone thoughtful, "how does someone acquire new skills? I mean, I'm talking about things like Unique Skills or even Ultimate Skills. Are they something I can just… learn or create?"

Great Sage responded in its calm, analytical tone:

Satoru nodded—or at least, the slime equivalent of a nod. "I'm listening. Lay it on me."

1. _Trigger Events:_**

For example, experiencing a dire situation or intense determination to overcome adversity may result in the birth of a Unique Skill.>

Satoru scratched his metaphorical head. "So, basically, the stronger my resolve or emotions, the more likely I am to unlock something crazy powerful?"

2. _Skill Fusion or Evolution:_**

For example, combining offensive and defensive capabilities could result in a balanced combat-focused Unique Skill. Similarly, an Ultimate Skill may evolve from a Unique Skill if sufficient conditions are met.>

"Skill evolution, huh?" Satoru mused, intrigued. "So, if I use my skills creatively, there's a chance they might evolve into something better?"

Satoru grinned. "You're really the MVP here, Great Sage."

3. _Absorption and Integration:_**

"Ah, so that's what I've been doing with Predation," Satoru said. "Makes sense. And I guess the more monsters I eat, the more options I'll have for skills, huh?"

Conditions for Ultimate Skills:

Satoru leaned in—or squished closer to the ground in anticipation. "And Ultimate Skills? They sound like a whole different league. What's the deal with those?"

Satoru let out a low whistle. "So, they're not just handed out to anyone. You really have to earn them, huh?"
