Chapter 18 - Zelanus

After the announcement from the Voice of the World, Beerus turned his attention to the angels, who were now fully subservient to him. He extended his hand, and with a surge of divine energy, restored and amplified all of their powers, making them stronger than ever before.

Once the process was complete, Beerus addressed them, his commanding voice echoing through the Heavenly Palace. "Now that you are under my rule, I need to know your roles and responsibilities. Tell me everything.

"Feldway stepped forward first, bowing deeply. "My lord, I am Feldway, the first angel created by Lord Veldanava. My role is to lead all of the angels and ensure their duties align with divine will. I have always been the leader of our order."

Next was Obera, who stepped forward gracefully. "My lord, I am Obera, and I serve as one of the Three Mystic Admirals under Feldway's command. I have dedicated myself to strategic and tactical operations in service of the angels."

Zalario followed, his posture firm and confident. "I, too, am one of the Three Mystic Admirals. My role is to oversee combat operations and enforce divine justice where it is needed."

Then Garasha (also known as Gracia) spoke, bowing slightly. "My lord, I am Garasha, formerly a subordinate of Dino, the fallen angel who now serves as a demon lord in the Cardinal World. My allegiance shifted after his fall, but I am ready to serve you now."

Pico, another angel, stepped forward. "I am also one of Dino's former subordinates, my lord. Like Garasha, I am now ready to devote myself to you and your vision."

Cornu was the last to speak among the admirals. "I am Cornu, the third member of the Three Mystic Admirals. I specialize in intelligence and reconnaissance, ensuring that no threat goes unnoticed."

Beerus listened intently, his piercing gaze scanning each of them as they revealed their roles. "Good," he said after a moment of contemplation. "Now, Feldway, tell me everything you and the angels have been doing under your previous orders."

Feldway nodded and began his report. "My lord, we have been monitoring various threats across realms. Among them is the Insectars, an invasive race led by their king, Zelanus. The Insectar once threatened this realm but were banished to another planet. However, they remain a potential danger should they return."

Beerus's expression remained neutral, but his eyes glimmered with interest. Feldway continued. "There is also Ivarage, the Dragon of Destruction, a being of immense power but without sentience. Ivarage is a mindless beast, sealed away in a separate dimension. Its aura is so potent and chaotic that it has given birth to countless mindless creatures over the years. We have been tasked with ensuring the seal remains intact and that these creatures do not overrun the dimensions."

Beerus leaned back on the throne, deep in thought. He found it intriguing that even under Veldanava's rule, such loose ends remained. "You have been busy," he said finally. "But now, these responsibilities fall under my authority. I will determine how to handle each of these threats in due time."

The angels bowed deeply, acknowledging Beerus's sovereignty.

Beerus looked toward Velzar, who stood silently at his side. "Velzar, make preparations. We will investigate these matters one by one, starting with the Insectar. As for Ivarage, I will personally examine this 'Dragon of Destruction.' It might be time for a more permanent solution."

Velzar nodded. "As you command, my lord."

Beerus stood from his throne, his aura radiating absolute dominance. The heavenly palace, once ruled by Veldanava, now resonated with the presence of its new master. This was not just a new chapter for the angels but for the entire cosmos.

With a single wave of his hand, Beerus and Velzar vanished from the heavenly palace and reappeared on the desolate Insectar planet. The air was thick with toxic magicules, corrupted remnants of Ivarage's aura that had seeped into this world. The land was barren and hostile, an unrelenting wasteland where only the strongest could survive.

"Athena," Beerus commanded, his voice calm yet commanding, "locate Zelanus."

Athena, always efficient, quickly pinpointed the Insectar King's location. "He is within the central fortress, my lord. The largest structure in this chaotic realm."

Beerus nodded and began walking, Velzar silently following at his side. The journey to Zelanus's castle was ominous. The castle loomed on the horizon, a twisted, dark structure pulsating with malevolent energy. Along the way, cryptic beasts and monstrous insectars prowled the wasteland, but none dared approach the two divine beings radiating overwhelming power.

As they neared the massive castle, its gates swung open as though acknowledging the arrival of something greater. Inside, the atmosphere was suffocatingly dark, illuminated only by faint, eerie green glows from the magicules in the air. The walls seemed alive, pulsating with the strange energy of the realm. Insectars scurried along the halls, monstrous in their various forms, while cryptic beasts roamed as guards.

Deep in the heart of the fortress sat Zelanus on his throne. His insectoid features shimmered faintly under the dim light, his body exuding a regal but deadly aura. He was a towering figure with a carapace of black and gold, his multi-faceted eyes gleaming with intelligence and power.

Suddenly, Zelanus's body tensed. He felt something—a presence so overwhelming it disrupted her thoughts. His aura spiked instinctively, searching for the source of the disturbance.

"Where have I felt this before?" he muttered, her mind racing.

The sensation became stronger, and his throne room quaked slightly. Alarmed, he sent a group of her elite guards to investigate. But just as they departed, the air in the room grew heavier. His eyes widened as he felt it—a force so absolute, it shattered his composure.

Before he could react, the impossible happened. Every being in her castle, from the lowliest cryptic beast to her strongest generals, dropped to their knees. The pressure was unbearable, a force unlike any he had ever known. Even Zelanus, with all his power as the Insectar Queen, found herself forced to kneel, his limbs trembling as if under the weight of the universe itself.

The massive doors to the throne room swung open with a thunderous echo, revealing Beerus. His presence radiated divinity and destruction, his golden eyes glinting with the faintest trace of amusement. By his side was Velzar, calm and composed, her aura equally intimidating.

They walked into the throne room as though they owned it, their footsteps echoing ominously in the vast, dark space. Beerus stopped a few steps away from Zelanus, who struggled to lift his head.

"You must be Zelanus," Beerus said, his voice carrying an edge of authority that made the room tremble. "I am Beerus, the one who now rules over all, successor to Veldanava. And I have come to speak with you."

Zelanus's mind raced, trying to comprehend the sheer magnitude of the power before him. His body refused to obey his commands, pinned by the oppressive aura emanating from Beerus. For the first time in centuries, he felt something foreign and terrifying—fear.

Beerus released Zelanus from the oppressive weight of his aura, allowing him the ability to speak but not to move. Zelanus gasped for air as the suffocating pressure eased, yet he remained kneeling, his massive, chitin-covered body trembling under the gaze of the God of Destruction. Those golden, piercing eyes seemed to strip away every layer of pretense, leaving Zelanus completely vulnerable.

Realizing there was no use in lying, Zelanus began to speak, his voice deep and resonant but tinged with a trace of nervousness. "I... will tell you everything. I sense that deception is futile against one such as yourself."

Beerus said nothing, his expression calm but unyielding, signaling for Zelanus to continue.

"I am Zelanus, the first of the insectars to gain intelligence. I was born from the magicules of Ivarage, the World destroying dragon, whose presence corrupted this planet beyond repair. For eons, his toxic aura seeped into the land, giving birth to countless creatures—mindless, ravenous beings driven only by instinct. But among them, I emerged with an ego, a mind capable of thought and reason. I rose above the others, uniting the chaos under my rule."

Zelanus paused, his multifaceted eyes flickering with a mix of pride and sorrow. "This world… it is dying. The magicules that birthed me and my kin have also poisoned the planet, leaving it barren and inhospitable. For centuries, I have sought a way to save my people. I dream of finding a new home, a planet rich with resources, where we can thrive without fear of extinction."

His voice grew heavier with emotion, his antennae drooping slightly. "But such a place is beyond our reach. We are bound to this cursed world by the very magicules that sustain us. Even if we could leave, no other planet would welcome us. My people are seen as monsters, destroyers, a plague upon existence."

Zelanus looked up at Beerus, his gaze filled with both desperation and defiance. "You, who radiate power greater than anything I have ever known… You, who claim to rule all under the heavens… Tell me, God of Destruction, why have you come here? Is it to destroy us, as so many would wish? Or do you have some other purpose in mind?"

Beerus remained silent for a moment, his expression unreadable. The room was deathly quiet, save for the faint hum of toxic magicules in the air. Then, with a faint smirk, Beerus leaned forward slightly, his golden eyes locking onto Zelanus.

"You intrigue me, Zelanus," Beerus said, his voice calm yet brimming with authority. "Your ambition is commendable, though your methods have been… flawed. I have no intention of destroying you or your people—unless, of course, you give me a reason to. I came here because I have plans that extend beyond this world, and I see potential in you and your kind. The question is… will you submit to me and allow me to reshape your fate, or will you cling to your pride and watch your people wither away on this dying rock?"

Zelanus's mandibles twitched, and his eyes widened in shock. For the first time in his existence, he felt the faint stirrings of hope—hope that perhaps, under this being's rule, salvation was within reach.
