The enormous ape-like Oozaru bangs on its chest and lets out a deep and deafening roar. The ground beneath Hyeon shakes as the great ape tramples the ground. It's tail smacks around the surrounding trees and rocks with great strength. The giant Oozaru dwarves the nearby hill and forest.
The roars woke Gohan from his deep sleep. He glances outside to see the monstrous Oozaru thrashing about. He steps out of the house and is met by an anxious Hyeon.
"Master Gohan!... That thing... Goku!" Hyeon shouts frantically trying his best to atleast explain to Gohan what happened to Goku.
Gohan's eyes grew wide, thinking of the worst. Gohan's thoughts race wildly as he looks at the monster.
What happened to my boy Goku? Did that monster?...
Enraged, Gohan charges to the Great Ape and lands a kick to its guts. But it had little effect and damage. Feeling a slight pain, the Great Ape rampaged in even more anger and started pounding the ground intensely. Gohan, using his skills and agility, maneuvers through the attacks, dodging and weaving until he gains a sizable distance.
Gohan prepares to throw another attack when suddenly, Hyeon kicks his arm away.
"STOP! That is Goku!" Hyeon shouts as he holds Gohan.
"Wha-... " Gohan mutters in disbelief. He looks at the raging Oozaru and swallows his spit in anxiety.
"I know not what exactly happened, but one thing is certain. That is our boy Goku, and he has this power within him." Hyeon states while harnessing his Ki.
"He is my answered prayers, my student, and I see him as my own grandson." Hyeon continues as he unleashes half of what remains in his Life-Force, with a fierce look in his eyes his power bursts, visible Ki is now flowing through his body and his eyes glow a cyan hue.
Gohan looks at Hyeon and Goku with endearment. This sentiment has reached his heart and can see the resolve in Hyeon.
"Worry not Master Gohan, I will only try to immobilize him with a single strike." Hyeon states as he concentrates all his energy into his right hand. He pulls his hand back and shouts as he throws a palm strike towards the Oozaru.
He is still far from the Oozaru, but this does not matter, as a powerful palm-shaped Ki bursts out of Hyeon's palm. The trails of this Ki attack waves and dances like an eastern dragon. Shockwaves and sonic booms echoed in the mountains as the Ki attack rushes toward the Oozaru at immense speed. The Ki hits the Oozaru on the solar plexus, the region right below the sternum, knocking the wind out of him. The impact caused further damage breaking his ribs and causing minor internal injuries.
The Oozaru falls to his knees and eventually falls face first unto the ground unconcious. The sheer weight of the beast caused a strong earthquake upon his fall.
Gohan quickly runs towarda the Oozaru and checks if he is still alive. A pulse, which means this beast is only knocked out. Hyeon arrives beside Gohan to inspect the beast. He places his hand on the Beast's neck and tried to sense just what kind of Ki is flowing through.
He finds that this beast has Goku's Ki, and is contaminated heavily by an unknown substance. The substance is organic but it is certainly not human. This substance exists throughout the Oozaru's body. After closer inspection, this substance gradually weakens as thick clouds blot out the moon, but it gradually strengthens once the cloud clears.
This is no coincidence.
Hyeon thought, he sits down beside Gohan and both releases a deep sigh of relief. They both ask themselves, Will Goku return back to normal?
"Did Goku have this power? What made him transform into this?" Gohan asks.
Then it hit Hyeon. If Goku had this power inside him, it could be contained similar to how a raging, chaotic, and uncontrolled Ki can be contained in one's Dantians. Once contained, this Ki must be cultivated further to fully utilize its power. Could the same be done for Goku? Is this transformation even containable? And what of that unknown substance? Could it also be contained? These are the thoughts that flood through Hyeon's thoughts for the rest of the night.
The night ends, and the sun rises from the horizon. Birds start to sing as the orange light of the morning sun paints the sky. Goku wakes up to find himself back on his bed. Completely oblivious to the havoc he caused. He tried to stand up but he felt a sharp pain on his stomach and chest. He coughs out a bit of blood and his vision blurs. Confused, he shouts for help,
"Uncle Hyeon! Grandpa Gohan! It hurts so bad..."
Hyeon enters the house, he carries a basket filled with bottles and a small box. He sits down next to Goku and said,
"You should take a rest. A monster attacked you when you are outside last night."
"A monster? But I don't remember anything..." Goku says tilting his head while his hand clutches his stomach.
"The monster is quite strong. It knocked you out before you could even react." Hyeon says reassuringly while helping Goku lie down.
"You should not go out at night, lest you be attacked once more, we might not be able come to your rescue in time." Hyeon adds while rummaging through his basket.
"Did you defeat it?" Goku asked.
"Yes." Gohan says while sitting beside Goku.
Gohan smiles and pats Goku's head. Hyeon can't help but smile too as he sees the reassured expression of Gohan.
"Food is on me my grandson. Take a rest." Gohan says as he takes his leave.
Hyeon waits until Gohan is out of earshot and says,
"Goku, what I am about to show you is a technique that I developed myself." Hyeon says.
Goku's eyes widen in anticipation. He excitedly waits for what Hyeon is about to do. They both go into the lotus sitting position. Hyeon first performs Mortal Style Ki Cultivation.
The Mortal Style Ki Cultivation involves five systematic steps, Circulation, Purification, Condensation, Concentration, and Relaxation.
Goku observes this and tries to imitate. He performs the Mortal Style Ki Cultivation flawlessly. Hyeon notices this and says,
"Marvelous. Had you been born in the Murim, you would have been peerless."
After Goku's cultivation, his battle power raises slightly while simultaneously speeding up his recovery. Goku feels this increase of vigor and strength. He feels happy and willing to do more, but Hyeon stops him. Hyeon gives Goku a brown pill.
"This is called a Ki Pill. This is the very reason why I taught you Herbology. This Ki Pill will increase your Ki, but you have to properly circulate this increase in Ki to be effective."
Hyeon places the brown Ki Pill into Goku's palms and closes it to a grip.
"You must never share this secret, not even your friends, or Master Gohan. You must only pass this secret down to your direct son and your son's son. And if you ever found yourself a disciple, you can pass this down to them too." Hyeon says with sincerity.
Goku is confused at first as to why Hyeon told him this, but he atleast understands to respect Hyeon's wishes. To Goku, Hyeon and Grandpa Gohan is his first masters. Goku bites down the Pill and swallows it. Goku's face twists into disgust as the bitter taste of the pill spreads and coats his tongue. He immediately feels a burning sensation in his lower abdomen. His Ki is rising chaotically.
"Now, perform the Mortal Style Ki Cultivation." Hyeon says while his arms are crossed.
Goku performs the cultivation technique. First, he circulates his own Ki to start up the process. Then, he harvests the Ki he gained from the pill and removes its impurities along with the impurities of his own Ki making it as his own. Wastes and toxins expel from his body as a result. Then comes the crucial part, Condensation and Concentration. He compresses his Ki several fold, making it potent, heat expels from his body as a byproduct and his aura appears. His Ki is then further purified and contained within his body and dantians. His aura disappears as the Ki leakage stops due to Condensation and Concentration. Now, he relaxes and let his body be naturally in tune with the Ki. The Cultivation is complete, and as a result, Goku feels a massive surge in strength and power along with the recovery of his injuries. Due to Goku's Saiyan biology, he receives a Zenkai, further amplifying the boost he received from the Cultivation.
Goku's power level increases from 13 to 70. A substantial increase.
Goku noticed something peculiar. Two separate strange Ki inside his body. The Ki of the Oozaru transformation and the Demonic Ki of Cheon Ma. This is still unkown to him, so he asks Hyeon what it was about.
"Uncle Hyeon, there is something strange in my Ki. Could you please have a look?"
Hyeon thinks for a while and theorizes that this must be the Ki he felt when Goku hit his head, and the strange Ki when he transformed into a great ape.
"Perform the Mortal Style Ki Cultivation one more time while I investigate this." Hyeon answers as he places his hand at Goku's back.
As Goku performs the technique, Hyeon finds the strange Ki. First is the Ki that lays dormant in his tail, he suspects that this is what made Goku turn into a great ape. He nudges the Ki and unblocks Goku's meridian that connects to Goku's body, then he mimics the wave that the moon emits to provoke this Ki further. Goku's power amplifies tenfold and Goku's body starts to transform.
"Focus! You must contain this Ki or else something bad will happen." Hyeon warns as he tries to help contain the surging Ki.
Goku's aura starts to leak and appear as a result. His aura slowly turns green and his pupil briefly flashes a green light. Hyeon struggles to contain this Ki but eventually it calms down. Goku is now in the Ikari state but is relatively calm. With a multiplier of 10 his power level is now 700. After a while, he reverts to his base form and back to a power level of 70.
"Astonishing. You have complete control of your power." Hyeon states, amazed at Goku's talents.
They continue on to investigate the other Ki, the Demonic Ki of Cheon Ma. As they explore Goku's Ki, Hyeon found the Demonic Ki locked away in his Middle Dantian. However, all efforts are in vain as no matter how hard they try to access this Ki, it remains locked and dormant. Goku and Hyeon finalizes the cultivation, and Goku is happy with the result.
Years pass by as Goku continues living with Grandpa Gohan and Hyeon. Grandpa Gohan drills the various martial arts of the world into Goku's head and he eventually masters all of them, he also gives Goku the Nyoi-Bō (Power Pole) and Goku mastered it in no time. Hyeon teaches the martial arts of the Murim World, primarily focusing on the Mortal Style. He also taught Goku how to make Ki Pills, Ki Control, and Cultivation.
Goku would also master his Ikari State (Power of Oozaru in Human Form). This means that he never transformed into the Great Ape Oozaru, and did not end up killing Gohan. This also means that Goku would spend more time with him and get to train more with him.
Goku also learned mathematics, basic chemistry, and other academics as Hyeon is a ruthless teacher.
Goku's training and the occassional zenkais resulted in an increase in his Power Level. From 70 to 150 at first, and because Goku had already surpassed Hyeon and Gohan in power, Goku had more time to master techniques and further increase his power on his own. Along the lines, Hyeon also teaches Goku the importance of Isolation Training. Hyeon also passes down the Mortal Style to Goku and gave him the tome. With Isolation Training, Goku furthers his powers to a degree, from 150 to 200.
Meanwhile, a blue haired teenage girl is cruising along the ranges of Mount Paozu. She picks up the pace as she detects an object on her radar. Beeping monotonously, indicating that she is near. She arrives at Gohan's home...
