Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

---

Ardyn strode onto the arena grounds, his silvered longsword gleaming under the twin suns of Altheris. The crowd roared his name, their voices reverberating like thunder in the colossal coliseum. This was his domain, a stage for his unparalleled skill. Every swing of his blade, every spell woven into his strikes, was an ode to perfection. Mana flowed through him like a river, vibrant and alive, amplifying his every move.

He was the chosen of the Elves' God, his body a vessel crafted for greatness. None could rival his precision or power, and he knew it. He basked in the adoration, flashing a confident smirk at his fiancée, Elyra, seated in the noble gallery. Her golden hair caught the sunlight, her expression calm but proud. She was his equal in status, a scion of an esteemed swordsman lineage. Yet, even she could not match his brilliance.

Today's opponent was a seasoned warrior, clad in rune-inscribed armor and wielding a great axe crackling with thunder. A formidable foe, yet Ardyn felt no fear, only excitement. As the gong sounded, signaling the duel's start, he charged forward, mana igniting his movements with blinding speed.

The clash of steel rang out as Ardyn's blade met the axe. Sparks flew, the air crackling with energy. His opponent growled, pouring mana into his strikes, but Ardyn danced around him effortlessly, his swordplay a symphony of deadly precision.

With a single, elegant motion, Ardyn disarmed the warrior, his blade grazing the man's throat. The crowd erupted as Ardyn sheathed his sword, victorious once again.

As he raised his arms to the crowd, his grin widened. To him, defeat was a concept as foreign as fear.

But the winds of fate were shifting.
