Sophia's heart was racing as she stood frozen in the middle of the room. Xander's eyes were fixed on Sebastian, his expression cold and calculating.
"What's going on here?" Xander repeated, his voice dripping with menace.
Sebastian stood his ground, his eyes locked on Xander. "I'm just trying to help Sophia," he said. "She's in danger."
Xander's expression turned skeptical. "What are you talking about?" he asked.
Sebastian hesitated, and Sophia knew that he was wondering how much to reveal.
"Sophia's past is catching up with her," Sebastian said finally. "The people she wronged in her past life are coming for her."
Xander's eyes narrowed. "What are you talking about?" he repeated.
Sophia knew that she had to intervene. She couldn't let Xander and Sebastian fight over her.
"Xander, please," Sophia said, stepping forward. "Just listen to what Sebastian has to say."
Xander's eyes flicked to Sophia, and for a moment, she thought she saw a glimmer of uncertainty there.
But then his expression hardened again. "I don't trust him," Xander said. "He's just trying to manipulate you."
Sebastian's face darkened. "I'm trying to help her," he said. "You're just too blind to see it."
The tension in the room was escalating, and Sophia knew that she had to do something to defuse the situation.
"Xander, please," Sophia said again. "Just listen."
Xander's eyes flicked to Sophia, and for a moment, she thought she saw a glimmer of uncertainty there.
But then his expression hardened again. "Fine," Xander said. "I'll listen. But if I don't like what I hear, you're out of here."
Sebastian's face darkened, but he nodded.
"Okay," Sebastian said. "I'll tell you everything."
As Sebastian began to speak, Sophia felt a sense of trepidation. What would Xander do when he found out the truth about her past?
And what would happen to her relationship with Xander when he discovered that she was hiding secrets from him?
As the tension in the room escalated, Sophia knew that she was standing at a crossroads.
She could choose to tell Xander the truth and risk losing him.
Or she could keep her secrets hidden and risk losing herself.
The choice was hers.
But as she looked at Xander and Sebastian, Sophia knew that she wasn't the only one with secrets.
Sebastian took a deep breath before beginning his story. "Sophia, or Lilith, as she was known in her past life, was a powerful and feared woman," he said. "She was a leader, a warrior, and a symbol of hope for many people."
Xander's eyes narrowed. "What does this have to do with anything?" he asked.
Sebastian's expression was serious. "It has everything to do with Sophia's current situation," he said. "You see, Lilith's actions in her past life have consequences that are still being felt today."
Sophia felt a shiver run down her spine. What did Sebastian mean?
"What consequences?" Xander asked, his voice skeptical.
Sebastian hesitated before answering. "There are people who are seeking revenge against Lilith," he said. "They blame her for the deaths of their loved ones, and they will stop at nothing to make her pay."
Sophia's eyes widened in horror. She had never thought that her actions in her past life would have such far-reaching consequences.
Xander's expression was grim. "I'll take care of it," he said. "I'll make sure Sophia is protected."
Sebastian shook his head. "You don't understand," he said. "These people are powerful, and they will not be easily deterred. Sophia needs to be careful, and she needs to be prepared."
Sophia felt a sense of unease. What did Sebastian mean by "prepared"? And what exactly was she preparing for?
As she looked at Xander and Sebastian, Sophia knew that she was caught in the middle of something much bigger than herself.
Xander's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean by 'prepared'?" he asked Sebastian.
Sebastian's expression was serious. "Sophia needs to be aware of her surroundings at all times," he said. "She needs to be cautious, and she needs to be prepared to defend herself if necessary."
Sophia felt a shiver run down her spine. She had never thought that she would be in a situation where she would need to defend herself.
Xander's face darkened. "I'll take care of Sophia," he said. "She doesn't need to defend herself."
Sebastian's eyes locked onto Xander's. "You don't understand the situation," he said. "Sophia is in grave danger, and she needs to be prepared to face that danger head-on."
Sophia felt a surge of fear. What did Sebastian mean by "grave danger"? And what exactly was she facing?
As she looked at Xander and Sebastian, Sophia knew that she was caught in the middle of a deadly game. And she wondered if she would be able to survive the outcome.
Suddenly, Xander's phone rang. He answered it, his expression growing darker with each passing moment.
"What is it?" Sophia asked, feeling a sense of unease.
Xander's eyes locked onto hers. "It's my security team," he said. "They've detected a breach in the building's security system."
Sophia's heart skipped a beat. What did that mean?
Sebastian's eyes narrowed. "We need to get Sophia out of here," he said. "Now."
Xander nodded, his face grim. "I'll take care of it," he said.
As Xander and Sebastian moved to escort Sophia out of the building, Sophia felt a sense of trepidation. What was happening? And where were they going?
But before she could ask any questions, Sophia heard a loud explosion from outside the building. The room shook, and Sophia stumbled.
Xander caught her, his arms wrapping around her waist. "We need to get out of here," he said. "Now."
They rushed out of the building, the sound of sirens and shouting filling the air. Sophia's heart was racing as she clung to Xander's arm, her eyes scanning the chaos around her.
Sebastian was right behind them, his eyes scanning the rooftops and alleyways. "We need to get her to a safe house," he yelled to Xander over the din of the sirens.
Xander nodded, his face grim. "I know a place," he said. "Follow me."
They weaved through the crowds of people, Xander's security team clearing a path for them. Sophia's mind was reeling as she tried to process what was happening.
Who was behind the explosion? And what did they want with her?
As they turned a corner, Sophia saw a black SUV waiting for them. Xander opened the door and ushered her inside, Sebastian following close behind.
The SUV sped away from the curb, leaving the chaos of the explosion behind. Sophia's heart was still racing as she looked at Xander and Sebastian.
"What's going on?" she asked, her voice shaking.
Xander's face was grim. "We'll tell you everything once we're safe," he said.
Sebastian nodded in agreement. "We need to get you to a secure location," he said. "Somewhere you can't be found."
Sophia's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?" she asked.
Sebastian's expression was serious. "You're in grave danger, Sophia," he said. "There are people who want you dead."
Sophia's heart skipped a beat. Who wanted her dead? And why?
As the SUV sped through the streets, Sophia knew that she was in for the fight of her life. She was caught in a deadly game, and she had no idea what the rules were.
But she was determined to survive. No matter what it took.
