The day of the Flame Ceremony arrived, and the sect was alive with activity. Disciples and elders alike gathered in the grand courtyard, where a massive brazier stood at the center, its flames reaching high into the sky.
Aarik, Kaelen, and Kaida remained on high alert, their eyes scanning the crowd for any sign of trouble. Ryen was there, standing near the elders, his expression calm and composed. But Aarik could feel the tension radiating from him.
As Master Valen stepped forward to begin the ceremony, Aarik's sigil flared to life. He turned just in time to see a group of cloaked figures emerging from the shadows, weapons drawn.
"Protect the master!" Kaelen shouted, drawing his sword.
Chaos erupted as the cloaked attackers charged into the crowd. Aarik unleashed a torrent of flames, his movements a blur as he fought to keep the disciples safe. Kaida fought beside him, her movements swift and deadly, proving her loyalty with every strike.
Ryen, however, made his move. Drawing a blade infused with dark energy, he lunged at Master Valen.
Aarik intercepted him, their blades clashing with a deafening roar. "You won't win, Ryen!" Aarik growled, the Eternal Flame blazing around him.
"We'll see about that," Ryen sneered, his dark energy clashing violently with Aarik's flames.
