He couldn't believe she was at the wedding.
He blinked several times to see if she'd disappear, but she didn't. She was real. Still gorgeous and enchanting in every way.
He wondered if she brought a date with her. He'd really hate it if she did.
"Are you going to talk to her?"
He rolled his eyes as he heard a familiar voice speak.
"The last time I did was about three years ago at your birthday party. And you know how that went," Trevor replied.
He'd approached her, confessing his feelings that he'd never grown out of, and she in not-so-kind words, told him to leave her alone. She claimed she wanted nothing to do with him and that he needed to grow up. He'd wanted to cry that moment, but held it in. Mike had to kick her out because of how mean and disrespectful she was, but the damage was already done though.
He winced as he remembered. It still hurt. A whole lot.
His friend sighed. "Yeah, I remember. So that means you don't want to have anything to do with her again then?"
"I don't know," Trevor said, unsure.
His friend knew how much he was pinning after Tina Reuben even after everything. He was convinced that she was the only one for him and he wasn't going to give up till she accepted him.
Well, that last part was in the past now.
He wasn't going to force her to like him back after that hurtful rejection. She'd made her point clear and his mom had always told him not to force things with someone who didn't give him an enthusiastic yes.
Maybe Tina just really didn't like him. Not anymore, at least.
"Well, love isn't by force," Mike said, hands folded across his chest.
"Right," Trevor said, feeling sad as he watched the one he liked from afar.
"We should go talk to the other guys," Mike finally said, putting an arm around his shoulder, steering hia gaze away from Tina who was talking to some lady he didn't recognize quite passionately.
"Yeah," Trevor muttered as he walked with his friend towards a group of men seated at a table.
He didn't notice when Tina's eyes looked over at him. He also didn't notice the look on her face. Mike did though, as he turned around just in time to see her. And he not-so-subtly glared at her.

Jealousy. Tina felt a ting of jealousy the moment she saw him dancing with some woman. It took self-restraint for her not to walk up to them and break up the dance. She didn't like the way that girl was pushing against him, with a smirk on her face.
She knew she had no right to feel a type of way about anything he did and with whom, but she couldn't help it. She didn't have the guts to walk up to him because she knew what she'd did to him and that it spanned farther than two years ago.
She sighed as she turned to face the man who kept trying to flirt with her. He'd asked her for a dance and she'd turned him down. She'd really appreciate it if no men showed her any interest right now.
She walked away from the disappointed man to get another drink when she felt someone tap her back. She turned sharply about to let out a few unsavory words, thinking it was the same man.
It wasn't him though. She relaxed a bit when she realized that she was face-to-face with the bride of the wedding. She knew her name was Enna and that she worked as a real estate manager. But that was it. She was invited by the groom, not her.
"Hello," she greeted, unsure of what to say.
Enna seemed a bit unsure too, but she gave her a bright smile. She was a petite and pretty yellow eyed lady. Yellow-eyed because that was one of the most prominent things on her face. Her eyes were so bright that Tina almost felt like sunrays were on her.
"You're Tina," she said. "Drew always mentioned his favorite cousin who barely ever came around." She grabbed two glasses of wine from a passing waiter and handed Tina one. "I'm glad you could make it to our wedding though."
Tina nodded, a tentative smile on her face. "Yeah. Congratulations."
"Thanks!" Enna exclaimed, taking a sip of her wine while looking at her intently. "I didn't know you would be so beautiful in real life."
Tina was amused. Whenever people complimented her for being beautiful, they usually meant her body. Her face wasn't exactly award-winning and she knew it. So she'd take whatever she could get. She didn't have any interest in debating Enna's opinion though, so she just accepted the compliment with a smile.
"Maybe I should've used you as part of my bridesmaids."
Tina waved her off. "Don't worry about that."
She wasn't really a fan of weddings or participating in one. The reason she was here was because of her cousin who begged her, and she wasn't a big fan of disappointing him on his most important day.
"So, uh, I was wondering why you..."
Tina raised a brow at her. "Why I what?"
"Now," Enna said after clearing her throat. "I was just wondering why you haven't talked to Trevor yet."
Tina felt her breath seize at that. Why was she asking about him? No one close to her had mentioned him since and she'd avoided walking up to him intentionally.
"Well, we're not exactly best friends or anything," she let out. "And he's not the only one I haven't talked to."
"Oh." Enna seemed to be contemplating for a bit before she looked at her and continued, "Are you mad that I'm asking about him?"
She shrugged. "No."
Tina didn't see the need to be mad. She didn't exactly do anything wrong.
"I like him," Enna said. "And I think I like you too."
"Ok...ay."
"I know a bit about your history and I think... I think you guys are good for each other."
Tina unintentionally let out a laugh. "I don't think you know what you're talking about, Enna. But okay."
Enna pursed her lips, then she continued. "But I do. You know, I know a bit about--"
"Baby, please stop bothering my cousin and let's party," a tall and almost scary-looking man interrupted.
Tina sighed in relief as she watched her cousin wrap his arms around his bride, a big smile on his face.
"I wasn't bothering her. We were just trying to get to know each other," Enna protested.
"I'm sorry about her, Tina. This is why I didn't want you guys to ever meet," Andrew said to which Enna rolled her eyes and Tina chuckled.
She was happy for the interruption. She had no interest in talking about Trevor to anyone. Especially not someone she wasn't very close to.
She drained her glass as she removed her attention from the couple.
"Oh! My song!" Enna exclaimed as a Luther Vandross song came on, grabbing her now husband's hand. "Let's go dancing." She turned to look and wave at Tina before leaving. "We'll talk more later. Bye!"
Tina waved at her. "Bye," she whispered.
She didn't know what she meant by them talking later when she wasn't even going to stay throughout. They were probably not going to talk to each other for a while.
