After taking down the last Carja outpost before Daytower and Sentinel Dawns, we began reconstruction efforts. In reality, it was more like construction, as all that was left was rubble. We really did a number on this outpost, there was nothing worth standing. However, the location was suitable for a military fort. The buildings wouldn't be fancy, just a solid military outpost build with cement and steel plates that could withstand any attack and deploy troops if necessary. We had secured a good supply of machine weapons, like disc launchers and cannons, which would make this new fort impossible for any human or machine to conquer again.
I assigned 70 soldiers and Rhea to guard the position and wait for the construction team, it would take at least 6 months before the fort was ready, Mother's Fist was the name of the new fort. We had secured a lot of data caches about construction and with the help of the focus we could now teach some people how to build a modern fort to guard the passage, and now we had time, after delivering such a devastating blow to the Carja in the Savage East i was sure they wouldn't mount any offensive any time soon. The mad king was fighting all the tribes that surrounded them after all, not only the Nora was fighting them out of their lands but the Tanakhe to were ferocious and ruthless on their resistance.
So i decided it was time to make my way to The Cut, i would go to Songs Edge a Banuk settlement close to our borders to initiate trade and diplomatic relations, i think Aratack is there with is werek and is the leader there. Maybe i can go and meet CYAN an AI that stopped the volcano from destroying most of north America, she must have feeling lonely only with crazy shamans to talk to, i think Ourea is still a slave in the Carja Sun Arena but im not sure, so many things have changed with me here that maybe she got lucky and avoided capture.
But before i went to the cut i had to reposition the army, we had 220 top professional troops ready for action with 70 on Mother's Fist for the next 6 months i had to deliver another 70 lead by Kiri close to Dawns Sentinel making sure no carja would come sniffing around, the rest would patrol our increased lands we now had total control of the north, and soon we should start to build south to. But first we would take down those two ugly stone forts and make them ours, then we would move south , closer to Mother Crow to build a proper capital to my Kingdom.
I was at the Oseram tavern in Mothers Forge having a beer and playing a game of Machine Strike that the tanakhe left when Albedo came to me.
"So, you leaving." she says while sitting next to me trying to figure out how to play the strange game.
"Yes, tomorrow me and Orlok will move to The Cut." I say while outplaying my opponent on the 3 board.
"Is that really necessary? we still have two forts to conquer." She says sadly.
"The Banuk have things we need, more animals to our farms and machine parts we don't have and need to improve our weapons, and the data of course, we still need more data to improve our settlements," I say finally finishing the game and turning to her.
"Don't worry, it will be a short trip, just need to make contact with the werek there and track a spirit, easy." I smiled at her.
"Sure, easy, talking with stubborn banuks and tracking a 1000 year old spirit." She mocks me with a smile.
"I'm a great tracker, really, don't worry i will be back in a few weeks at most." I reassure her.
"Fine, i know i can't stop you majesty for doing at he wants." she teases me.
"Oh. its that so? them maybe we should..." I whisper in her ear and watch her face red from shy.
"That... new..." she says shyly.
After some more teasing on my part we moved the conversation to a more serious matter.
"You will be in charge while im gone, don't do anything i wouldn't do." I say to her while smiling.
"Of course, don't worry i won't push the borders, i will wait for you to come home." she says.
"How is Aloy doing?" I ask my mate.
"She was incredible, very intelligent, more than i was at her age, she felt a bit lonely but talking to her using the focus and teaching her had improved her mood. She is adorable like a little sister." She smiles thinking of the red hair that would save the world.
"i just don't understand why the matriarchs would outcast a baby, that so cold, even from them." she tilts her head in confusion.
I just remain silent at that, i realy couldent tell how i knew that Aloy was motherles, born form a machine and the blood of Dr sobeck.
"Cmon lets go home, lets discuss some private matters before i leave." I smirked at her.
"Sure, lets discuss some 'matters'." she to smirks at me to.
