Victor Caldwell was born in 1495 in Keli village of the west blue, a small village that sustained itself with fishing.
Victor's father, Cassio Caldwell, was a simple fisherman, taciturn and devoted to his studies, and since his beloved wife had died shortly after giving birth to victor, he devoted all his heart and affection towards his only son.
Victors' life until the age of seven was simple and peaceful, influenced by his father, he didn't cause trouble or start fights. He was a soft-spoken and gentle child, whose only hobbies were fishing with his dad and reading books.
However, Victor had a little secret. For as long as he could remember, he would occasionally hear sounds in his head. Victor had told his father, and they had gone to see many doctors but none of them had a clue what he was talking about. In order to keep his father from worrying Victor had told his first lie, he had stopped taking the medicine and told his father he didn't hear the sounds anymore.
When in truth they only became clearer.
In 1502, when Victor and his father saw that the weather looked good, they packed up supplies and went fishing as usual.
Unfortunately, the sea is as fickle as a jealous woman. In one moment, the seas were calm, and then the next a storm came, with no warning the sky suddenly turned dark and gloomy, violent lighting flashed across the dark clouds, and the small fishing boat tossed and turned in the violent winds.
Realizing their situation, Caldwell Cassio, the great father that he was, stuffed his son in the only empty barrel and tossed far into the sea with the last vestiges of his strength.
"Victor! we all have a destiny in this life! It seems your mom has come to fetch me, and my destiny has arrived! But you are special, you have hope, live well for me!" those were the last words he heard from his father as he passed out, and huge waves swallowed the small fishing boat.
Victor woke up in a clinic at Keli village. The doctor told him it was a passing fisherman who had found him passed out on the shore with shards of wood scattered around the floor, and unfortunately his father could not be found.
Victor didn't cry or cause problems, instead he left the clinic and went back home, against the doctor's advice. For a while he sat blankly at the steps of his house, sad but unable to shed a single tear. Full of anger but not knowing what to do with it, Victor unconsciously curled into a ball in front of his house and went to sleep.
That night he had dream, a strange and long dream.
In the dream, he was born in a rich and peaceful country, with 2 parents who loved him deeply. Although there were wars in the world he dreamt of, those troubles were far away from him. His parents had raised him meticulously but his face was blurred and he couldn't recall his name.
The man in the dream was not overly motivated but instead just stayed indoors and watched anime at home. On his 15th birthday, as usual, he read some manga then lay in bed and closed his eyes. When he opened them again, he was back in the familiar and unfamiliar steps.
It took victor 2 days to sort out his thoughts, in which he tried to figure out what was reality and what was fiction, in the end he decided it didn't matter, as he was here now. That was also the day the seedling of 'ambition' sprouted in his heart.
In the end it had turned out that he hadn't gotten sick, but had just experienced Observation Haki early, knowing the plot of the world, he realized what he had to do to reach pinnacle.
It didn't take long for Victor to learn that were some differences in the subtleties, 2 months later while still recovering, he found a pink haired girl on he beach. Her parents were killed in a shipwreck and she was lucky enough to drift onto the island on driftwood.
The little girls name was Perona.
Victor was baffled for a while. According to the original plot of the work, Perona would be adopted by the west blue hero Gecko Moria as a child, that meant a change in the timeline, one that should've had nothing to do with him.
Victor scratched his head as he looked at the pink haired little girl, who was bawling her eyes out. It was already tough without his father. But he couldn't just leave the girl there and hope that Moria would pass by and pick her up.
At that moment in his ears, he heard his father's voice echoing: "We all have a destiny in this life". Victor could only sigh, was this meeting destined?
"Okay then…. Perona, do you want to come live with me? I'll be your family."
The pink-haired girl, who still had tears in her eyes, looked at Victor who was squatting in front of her and felt a serene come over her heart.
"O... Ok..." Perona nodded as she grabbed Victors outstretched hand, the two thin children walked together towards the clinic.
A few hours later, a black pirate ship with a skull decorated on its bow appeared off the coast
"Captain, what's wrong?" The sailor on the wheel looked at the tall figure leaving over the railway
The man had a brown fiery head, and a tall stocky build with horns on both sides of his head, along stitches criss-crossing on his torso, such that it resembled a wound, he whore he a gothic style shirt.
He glanced at the deserted beach again, then walked towards the sailor with a resounding laugh
"Hee Hahaha…what beautiful weather! Take a break, I want to take the helm!"
"No, no, no captain! Abu, stop the captain! Or we'll have to repair the ship again!"
"No one can stop the captain when his feeling capricious, wait! Captain don't turn wheel so fast!"
"Hee Hahahah…don't worry, leave it to me!'
The rowdy black pirate ship gradually drifted away. Its fate changing silently, unbeknownst to the members.
A few years later, the villagers gradually became familiar with the new member of Victors family and her unusual interests, the always cheerful little girl Perona was welcomed into the town with open arms. In the second year since adopting Perona, Victor discovered that she was already in possession of the Horo Horo no mi, otherwise known as the ghost fruit.
It took Victor a lot of work to get her to smile after finding out, turns out she had always thought that she was different from ordinary people, and had kept it hidden in fear that Victor would hate her for being different. It took victors hours to explain what devil fruits were and that she just had one. It also reminded him to start looking for one that might suit him.
In the years of training, Victors innate talent reared it monstrous head, not only did his physical strength improve by leaps and bound and give him deadly precision at range, it also came with an omniscience type of ability.
What he could only describe as a god given ability allowed him to recognize and glean information from objects when in a high state of concentration, similar to a revelation from God, albeit it drew on insane amounts of stamina it was incredibly useful to Victor who hadn't read all the books in Ohara's library or even a devil fruit manual.
In 1506 of the sea calendar, Victor, while living with Perona on the island and devoting himself to training he learned of the zipper fruit through the newspaper. While everyone was laughing at the fruit, Victor was shocked.
This was an ability he had read about in a 'manga' in his dreams! After careful recall of the dream, he was sure, it was very similar to certain stands ability from the manga 'JOJO's bizarre adventure'. Looking at the reports and the memories in his head he was 100% sure he could bring out its potential.
Everyone has des a destiny, and Victor had always felt that the zipper fruits destiny had not been achieved.
One day 4 years later, as usual, Victor entered the biggest underground auction on the island to see if there any Devil fruits that would suit him. This was also the day Talma Pipping put the zipper fruit up for auction, in the audience Victor immediately recognized the fruit with his observation Haki and omniscience.
After watching the embarrassing performance of the Zipper fruit in the auction, Victor decided to take Perona and join 'Coral'.
The decision to join came after careful deliberation, he had 2 short term goals for joining, get the zipper fruit and the position of 'Boss' in the Coral gang. Stealing it would've probably been the most efficient way but that would've put a target on his back and he'd still have no backing, also the idea of plundering sent a wave of disdain throughout his body.
This way he could also monitor the fruit with his Haki, in case someone thought they were one step ahead and tried to eat it.
In the end it proved the correct decision, after joining the gang and going to battle after battle his actual fighting ability improved by leaps and bounds, he also found that his physique was different from the normal people in his dreams, as although his build was ordinary, his body contained incredible power.
Finally, two years later, Victor got the zipper fruit and became the leader of Coral, even the appearance of the other 2 gang leaders had been his doing. This was all part of his plan to unite the major gangs in the West blue under one flag.
"Hoohoohoo… Big brother when we defeat those old men, will the you be done with the first stage?" The cute pink-haired said as slowly descended to Victors side, playing with little umbrella in her hand mischievously, completely ignoring the laughing gangsters
"Yes, Afterall everyone has a destiny, and our destiny, Perona, Lies at the pinnacle of this world!"
"Kill them"
