Chapter 1 - Chapter 1) Path to Vengeance

The village of Konoha, once a vibrant haven of life and joy, now bore a somber shroud of unease. The recent Uchiha massacre had cast a long shadow over the village, its magnitude too immense to fully grasp. The once-lively markets were subdued, conversations were whispers, and even the children played with an unnatural quiet. Whispers of the tragedy spread like wildfire, leaving a palpable sense of dread in their wake.

In the hushed confines of Konoha's hospital, a young boy sat alone. His delicate features, a promise of striking handsomeness in years to come, were marred by the emptiness in his gaze. Sasuke Uchiha, the last survivor of the Uchiha clan's annihilation, sat upright on his bed. His small frame was unnaturally rigid, his eyes vacant yet piercing, as though staring not at the wall before him but at some distant, unseen target.

His hands, which once held sparklers during festivals, now gripped the hospital sheets like the hilts of unseen swords. The soft glow of the setting sun filtered through the window, bathing his pale face in warm light. Yet the warmth did nothing to soften the storm churning within. The nurse who entered with a tray of food hesitated at the door, momentarily unnerved by the intensity radiating from the boy. It wasn't the gaze of a grieving child—it was the gaze of someone already treading the path of vengeance.

The village mourned the Uchiha clan's demise, but within that hospital room, Sasuke's thoughts burned cold with fury.

How could he?

How could he destroy everything? The laughter, the pride, the love… all gone. Father… Mother… all of them. And he spared me. Why?

His nails dug into his palms, the sharp sting grounding him.

He didn't spare me out of mercy. No. It was cruelty—a reminder of how weak I am. How powerless. But I swear, Itachi... I won't stay this way. I'll grow stronger. Stronger than you could ever imagine. And when I do, I'll make you pay for what you've done.

The nurse set the tray on the bedside table, murmuring soft words of comfort. But Sasuke didn't hear her. His eyes were fixed on the future he had begun to carve for himself—a future of hatred, vengeance, and purpose.

Just then, a strange phenomenon unfolded. A faint shimmer appeared before his eyes, coalescing into a translucent blue hologram. Words glowed faintly in the air, pulsating with an otherworldly energy:

[If you desire vengeance, accept me, and I will grant you power—power beyond anything any being has possessed since the dawn of the cosmos.]

Sasuke's eyes narrowed, suspicion flaring within him. His first thought was that this was a genjutsu—an illusion crafted by Itachi to toy with him. But as he forced himself to calm down and analyze the situation, doubt crept in.

No… Itachi doesn't operate like this. If he wanted something, he'd confront me directly. He'd kill me outright or take what he needed—not leave behind cryptic riddles.

The hologram shimmered again, as if awaiting his response. The promise of absolute power was undeniable, aligning perfectly with the path he had chosen. Yet, even in his grief and rage, Sasuke's mind remained sharp.

What is this? A trap? A test? Or… could this really be something else?

His hand hovered in the air, hesitating. For a moment, he stared at the glowing text, the weight of the choice pressing down on him. Would accepting this power bring him closer to his goal—or would it lead him down a path of no return?

Instinct buzzed within him, louder and more insistent with every passing second. It was the same feeling he'd had before the massacre—a warning, or perhaps a sign.

After a long moment of deliberation, Sasuke raised his hand, his movements slow and uncertain. He hesitated, glancing around the room. What if the nurse or anyone nearby noticed? They'd think he'd lost his mind.

But the thought was fleeting. His fingers brushed the hologram, pressing the faintly glowing word: Accept.

Suddenly, the hologram dissolved, replaced by a new interface. It glowed brighter, the symbols shifting and reorganizing into something more intricate. The air around him seemed to ripple as an inexplicable energy filled the room.

Sasuke's breath caught in his throat as he stared at the new display. For the first time since the massacre, a spark of curiosity ignited within him, tempered by a dangerous resolve.

This was the first step—a step into the unknown. But if it meant gaining the power to bring Itachi down, Sasuke would take it without hesitation.

(AN:- Words of Wisdom from this kind author;

"Vengeance is not bound by morality, for it exists beyond the realms of good and evil, right and wrong. It is the natural claim of the wronged, a force born from pain and loss. Yet, it is a double-edged blade—granting justice to the victim while threatening to turn them into the very darkness they despise. Seek it if you must, but beware: if you let vengeance define you, it will devour your soul and leave nothing but emptiness in its wake.")Â
