Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Shared Moments.

You remember, of course, how Olivia and Liam seemed to predestined to meet each other, as if the fragments of their destiny found each other in the days following this moment. Their timelines for interaction were—morning walks while Olivia was drawing at some of the nearest local cafés or in the early morning while strolling along the coast. It felt to a degree as though destiny was drawing them together at every occasion to meet, rather than feel more like mere coincidences.

What used to be random interactions of passing ships became purposeful interactions. It was bantering during coffee, the heat of their giggles rising above the smell of hot toast and cookies. However, with time the conversations dragged on for hours till couples got to the core of their lives that they kept from the world; hopes, dreams, fears and the things they regret.

It was a warm afternoon and Liam was in a sun-drenched park by the sea, it had been a few days since the first time the brothers had spoken, but the time was right when he told me about the past. This he said to be true in, regretting sins he had committed and opportunities he let go in his lifetime. Olivia heard a weakness in his voice that somehow made her melt and for the first time, she focused on who he was inside.

They were true words and he sighed as he looked at the horizon where the sea ended and the sky began 'I wasn't always this guy'. "When I decided to come here, I wanted to take the first step towards trying to understand everything."

Olivia S' listened carefully, and her own barriers were gradually coming down. It took her some time to start speaking and she could see that there was something in Liam that could make her speak about her own defeats: of the broken heart, of rage put into the paintings, and of the thoughts that froze her.

During one of those walks on the beach at night, the sky was red, pink and gold as the sun set. The sea was calm and the foam touched only their feet and the sand of the beach was still warm.

beneath them. Slowly, Olivia begin to look at Liam out of the corner of her eyes noting how easily he fits into her social circle.

"Have you ever felt like the ocean can listen to you?" she said in whispered tone bringing an end to the complacent silence prevailing in the car.

Liam laughed softly and the low, deep tremor of his voice somehow made the situation even more ridiculous. That is more than what people do sometimes. This is more or less exactly what it does, It is as if it listens without judging.

Olivia smiled, nodding. "Exactly."

Words quickly failed them as they began walking together and then suddenly, Liam looked at her and said; 'I'm so glad I met you, Olivia, it feel just like this ocean'. But I think it is the best kind of overwhelming and calming all at the same time; I love it.

She blushed and shook her head a few moments later, though she continued to stare directly into his eyes. That and a few other things you probably do not wish to know right now," she said smiling at him while her voice had a soft undertone of passion.

They carried on, she was almost touching him sometimes and suddenly, she couldn't remember the last time she had felt this light. It was like the tremendous burden with which Liam's absence seemed to have burdened her, was gone, though she was not even aware of it.

As the concentration left and the night sky started growing darker; the first stars appeared in the night sky Olivia felt a new belongingness inside her which she never knew was a part of her. He sat beside her and that alone made the world look brighter, air fresher and she felt so free at heart.
