Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: A Father's Intuition

Chen Hao tightly grasped the document he had found in the archives.

Its content was like a blockbuster, setting off huge waves in his heart.

The government had already deciphered most of the mysterious signals.

And the hidden truth was far beyond his imagination.

This plunged him into an unprecedented state of confusion.

He left the observatory in a daze.

Before he knew it, he was standing in front of his house.

Pushing open the door, the soft light filled the room.

His father, Chen Jianguo, was reading a newspaper on the sofa.

Seeing Chen Hao come back, Chen Jianguo put down the newspaper, his eyes full of concern.

"Xiao Hao, you're back so late today. How was work?"

Chen Jianguo asked.

Chen Hao forced a smile.

"It's okay, Dad."

He walked into the living room and sat opposite his father.

But his eyes were constantly wandering.

Chen Jianguo keenly sensed his son's unusual state.

He stood up, poured a glass of water for Chen Hao, then sat beside him and said softly, "Xiao Hao, is something bothering you? Tell Dad."

Chen Hao looked up at his father's kind and worried face. His heart was in a tangle.

He wanted to tell his father everything but was afraid of bringing unnecessary trouble and worry to him.

After much hesitation, he shook his head.

"It's nothing, Dad. I'm just a bit stressed from work recently."

Chen Jianguo didn't believe his son's words.

He patted Chen Hao on the shoulder and said earnestly, "Xiao Hao, you've never been one to keep things to yourself since you were a child. How can I feel at ease seeing you like this? No matter what difficulties you encounter, tell Dad, and we'll find a way to solve them together."

Under his father's repeated questioning, Chen Hao finally couldn't hold back.

He took a deep breath, took the document from his bag, and handed it to his father.

"Dad, take a look at this."

Chen Jianguo took the document and read it carefully.

As he read on, his face grew more and more solemn.

After finishing reading, he was silent for a long time before slowly saying, "Xiao Hao, where did you get this document?"

Chen Hao told his father the whole story, including the phone call from the mysterious person, the meeting, and the process of finding the document in the archives.

After hearing this, Chen Jianguo frowned tightly.

"Xiao Hao, this matter is very complicated. There may be a huge conspiracy behind it. You must be careful and never trust anyone easily."

Chen Hao nodded.

"Dad, I know. But I'm confused right now. I don't know what to do. Why would the government hide such an important thing? I always thought we were working for the future of all mankind, but now it seems like everything is a hoax."

Chen Jianguo looked at his son's pained expression and felt very pained.

He thought for a while and said, "Xiao Hao, Dad doesn't understand the aspects of scientific research, but Dad knows that you should stick to your true self no matter what. You're a scientist, and you must explore the truth and contribute to the progress of humanity. Although you're facing difficulties now, this is also a test for you."

Chen Hao looked at his father, and a warm current surged in his heart.

"You're right, Dad. I can't give up like this. I must find out the truth. But where should I start?"

Chen Jianguo pondered for a moment and said, "I think you can start with that mysterious person. Since he was able to provide you with these clues, it means he must know some inside information. Try to find him. Maybe you can get more useful information from him."

Chen Hao nodded.

"I've thought about that, but he's always so mysterious. I have no idea how to find him."

"Don't worry, Xiao Hao," Chen Jianguo comforted him.

"Since he took the initiative to contact you, he'll show up again. What you need to do during this time is to continue your research work as usual and pay attention to any suspicious situations around you."

The father-son duo talked for a long time, and Chen Hao's mood gradually calmed down.

With his father's encouragement and support, he regained his confidence and courage.

The next day, Chen Hao came to the observatory as usual.

He knew that before finding the mysterious person, he couldn't let anyone notice that he already knew the truth hidden by the government.

He continued to lead the team in signal research while secretly keeping an eye on everything around him.

However, as days passed, the mysterious person never showed up again.

Chen Hao couldn't help but feel a bit anxious.

But he knew that anxiety wouldn't help, so he could only wait patiently.

During the research process, Chen Hao found that even though they had some clues, fully cracking the secrets of the signals was still extremely difficult.

The knowledge and technology involved in the signals were far beyond their current level of understanding.

"Dr. Chen, we've encountered another problem," a researcher came over with a report, his face full of worry.

"The data combination in this signal segment, we've tried all kinds of methods, but we can't figure out its meaning."

Chen Hao took the report and read it carefully. He also found it very tricky.

"Everyone, think of a way. We can't be defeated by this difficulty."

He encouraged the team members and sank into thought himself.

Suddenly, an idea flashed through Chen Hao's mind.

He remembered Lin Yun's previous suggestion of studying the signals from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Maybe he could start in this direction.

He immediately summoned the team members and readjusted the research plan.

In the following days, Chen Hao and his team worked day and night, constantly trying new methods and ideas.

They cooperated with scholars from various fields, such as biologists, mathematicians, and computer experts, to jointly overcome the research's difficulties.

As the research deepened, they gradually discovered some new clues.

There seemed to be a special coding method hidden in the signals.

This coding method had some similarities to the gene sequences of organisms.

This discovery gave them a glimmer of hope.

A few days later.

"Dr. Chen, we to have found the key to cracking the signals!"

Lin Yun ran over excitedly, holding a research report in her hand.

"By comparing and analyzing the signal coding method with the gene sequences of organisms, we've discovered some patterns. If we continue to research according to this pattern, we might be able to fully crack the secrets of the signals!"

Chen Hao took the report and read it carefully.

Excitement sparkled in his eyes.

"Great, Lin Yun! This is a breakthrough. Everyone, keep up the good work. We're getting closer to the truth!"

However, just as they were excited about the discovery, a crisis quietly arrived.

The National Security Department carried out even stricter reviews of their research work.

They even restricted some of their research activities.

"Dr. Chen, what should we do now?" a researcher asked anxiously.

"If this continues, our research can't proceed normally."

Chen Hao's face became very solemn.

He knew that this must be because their research had touched the interests of some people, so they were being suppressed so severely.

But he didn't back down.

He decided to work with the team members to find a way to deal with this crisis.

"Everyone, don't panic," Chen Hao said calmly.

"We must find a way to continue advancing the research work without violating the regulations. We can start from some seemingly insignificant details and gradually go deeper. At the same time, we also need to protect our research results well and not let them fall into the hands of those with ulterior motives."

Under Chen Hao's leadership, the team members started a race against time and power.
