Chapter 12 - From Rags to Riches

[Congratulations on being the first one to receive one point five million achievement points.]

[You receive an SSS ranking on the second floor.]

[You get twenty thousand tower points.]

[You can choose any one of the rewards below:

1. Level 10 Arcane Bow

2. Level 2 M4A1 Carbine Rifle.

]

The system announced in his head.

As expected, he had achieved the SSS rank once again. However, the most unexpected thing was the reward. How cheap could the system be to offer him his own gun?

Moreover, it was listed as Level Two. Was it because it couldn't harm the mana shield, or was it due to its power? Would using mana bullets increase its level? He needs to figure this out in the future.

Without hesitation, he selected the Level Ten Arcane Bow. A pouch appeared in his hands. He opened it to find it was a storage pouch he brought before, and everything he had bought, along with the reward bow, was already inside. He was pleased with this development.

Now, he needed to sell the potions and earn some cash.

Sanjay looked around, multiple shops were dealing with items from inside the tower. Among them was the company Alisha had mentioned—her family's business. The company's name was Nexus Beyond, a cool name indeed.

However, he didn't plan to go there. If they recognized the potions as their own, his cover would be blown. Instead, he went to another similar shop named Infinity Arcana.

The shop was luxurious and had an artistic design. Potions of various uses were displayed behind glass panels.

"Welcome, sir. How can I help you?" a young receptionist greeted him.

"Do you buy potions? I have some, I'd like to sell," Sanjay said.

"Of course, sir. Let me take you to the alchemist. He can check the quality and give you a price," the girl said with a smile.

"Sure"

The girl led Sanjay to a different section of the shop, where he saw people selling their items.

Some were even pulling out large creatures from storage pouches. What kind of creature could that be? Sanjay wondered.

He reached the area where potions were handled. An old man stood behind the counter, engrossed in watching videos on his phone. He didn't even glance up when Sanjay approached.

"Ahem," Sanjay cleared his throat.

"What? Place your potion on the counter," the old man said, still looking at his phone.

Sanjay opened the pouch and pulled out three Level Five Refill Potions, five Level Five Invisibility Potions, and five Level Five Berserk Potions.

Seeing the potions on the counter, the old man finally looked away from his phone and began inspecting them. He then took the potions inside and placed them in a machine to check their quality.

He was shocked by the results. Not because they were Level Five potions, but because all the potions of the same type were of exactly the same quality—down to five decimal points. Is this even possible?

'Potions inside the tower were created by alchemists, and even if they made the same item, external factors like humidity and dust would cause slight variations. How were these potions created?' he thought.

After some time, he concluded there might be an issue with the machine. Perhaps the data wasn't accurate. Regardless, these were indeed Level Five potions, as their quality fell within the expected range.

He brought the potions back to the counter.

"These are all Level Five potions," he said, looking at Sanjay, who nodded in confirmation.

The old man took out a calculator and began typing numbers. "For the Refill Potions, the value is fifteen million dollars. For the Invisibility Potions, it's five million each, and for the Berserk Potions, it's also five million each. The total comes to ninety-five million dollars. After subtracting commission and tax, it's ninety million Asian dollars," the man said, showing the number on his calculator.

Sanjay was stunned. He was a millionaire. He was rich! He could now buy a house, own a car, and even find a beautiful girlfriend. He drifted into his dreamland once again, just as he had before entering the tower. Back then, it had been a distant dream, but now, after just two floors, he could see it becoming a reality.

"Kid, do you accept?" the old man's voice brought him back to reality.

"Yes, please," Sanjay said politely.

"Give me your ID card," the old man said.

He couldn't understand why Sanjay was acting so strangely for a high-level player. In his mind, only a high-level player could obtain so many Level Five items.

Sanjay handed over his ID card, which was already linked to his bank account. The old man entered the details into the computer and clicked a few options.

"Ding." A message appeared on Sanjay's phone.

He took out his phone and saw, "Ninety million dollars credited." Seeing so many zeros, he was shocked, but this time, he kept his composure.

The old man returned his ID card.

Sanjay then took out the storage pouch he had replicated without anyone noticing. "Can you tell me its cost?" he asked, showing the pouch.

"You can check it in the item section. Don't disturb me now. Go," the old man said, returning to his videos.

Sanjay looked around and found the item section, marked by a sign above the counter. He approached the counter, where a middle-aged woman was writing something. Seeing Sanjay, she smiled.

"Hello, please show me the item you'd like to sell," the woman said.

Sanjay nodded and placed the storage pouch on the counter. The woman took it and placed it inside a machine, checking the results on her computer.

After a few minutes, she brought the pouch back to Sanjay.

"Sir, this is a Level Five pouch. Do you want to sell it?" she asked, confirming his intent. Storage pouches were rare and highly valuable, people usually didn't want to sell them.

"Yes, but first, can you tell me its capacity and uses?" he asked.

The woman gave him a strange look. Didn't he know what he was carrying? Perhaps he had bought it from someone and wanted to confirm its details.

"Sir, this Level Five storage pouch can hold up to one hundred cubic meters of items. Unlike lower-level pouches, this one makes items weightless inside. You won't need to worry about their weight, and you can carry it easily. However, you can't store living beings inside," the woman explained in one breath.

One hundred cubic meters? That was massive, and on top of that, it was weightless. He had hit the jackpot.

"So, what's the cost?"

"Sir, after subtracting tax and commission, it would be one hundred million dollars," the woman said with a smile.

What? That was even more than he had earned from selling the potions. He regretted not creating more pouches.

"Please sell it," Sanjay said affirming it.

"Of course, sir. Your ID, please," the woman replied.

A few minutes later, Sanjay left the shop with one hundred ninety million dollars in his account. He was no longer planning to live a poor life.

He called a taxi and instructed the driver to take him to the nearest luxury clothing store.

Upon entering the store, no one disrespected him, contrary to what he had seen in mangas. In fact, he was left alone. After consulting with a few salespeople, he bought several suits, casual clothes, pants, and other items.

He paid the bill of fifty thousand dollars without flinching. He stored the clothes in his storage pouch and proceeded to change into one of his new outfits. Seeing the storage pouch—something only high-level players could obtain—the store manager became extremely polite and even escorted him out of the shop.

Sanjay then called another driver and asked to be taken to the nearest five-star hotel. He booked a penthouse for one hundred thousand dollars per night. He took a bath in the luxurious bathroom, had a clean shave, and enjoyed a full seven-course meal.

After a good night's sleep, Sanjay woke up early the next morning. He planned to buy a house in a secure area, so he decided to visit a real estate company that day. He informed the hotel reception to keep a car ready for him.

A few hours later, he stepped out of a luxury car, dressed in a full suit, and entered a tall building housing a real estate company. As soon as he entered, a young, beautiful receptionist greeted him.

"Hello, sir. How can I help you?" she asked respectfully, noticing his handsome appearance and branded clothes.

"I'm looking to buy a house" Sanjay said.

"Of course, sir. Please have a seat in our VIP lounge. I'll send someone to assist you," she said, directing him to the lounge.

"Sure," Sanjay replied, entering the lounge.

As soon as he was seated, the receptionist called her friend.

"Hey, Anna, come quickly. I've got a young, hot, rich customer for you."

Anna rushed over, adjusting her dress.

"Do I look okay?" she asked.

"As beautiful as ever," her friend replied with a wink.

Anna blew her a kiss and entered the VIP lounge.

Sanjay saw a woman walk in. She was wearing a tight white shirt with the top buttons undone, red shorts, and black stockings.

"Hello, sir," she said, bending slightly as she extended her hand. She was pleased with Sanjay's reaction.

Sanjay snapped out of his frozen state and shook her hand.

"Hello."

Anna sat down next to him on the sofa and placed a book on the table.

"Are you looking to buy a house?" she asked.

"Yes. Can you show me some houses in a secure, private area?" Sanjay replied.

Anna smiled and opened the book, showing him various options.

"Look here, sir. These are some three-bedroom apartments with balconies offering city views," she said, pointing to the photos.

"They look good. What are the prices?" Sanjay asked.

Anna hesitated slightly.

"Sir, these houses are on the higher end. Most of them cost around thirty million dollars."

Sanjay frowned.

Was the cost too high for him? As expected, selling high-end properties wasn't easy.

"Sir, we also have mid-range houses. Let me show you those," Anna said, flipping through the pages.

"No, it's not that. The cost is too low. I was looking for something in a much higher range," Sanjay said.

Anna's eyes widened. She had caught a big fish.

She moved closer to him, and he could smell her perfume. She flipped to the end of the book and showed him a mansion.

"This is a mansion located in one of the most prestigious areas in the city. It has top-notch security and sits on a hilltop. The property is twenty-four thousand square feet, with nine bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and four stories. It features private and outdoor swimming pools, a sauna, a wine cellar, and an open-air cinema. The entire property is surrounded by high anti-theft walls and trees, ensuring complete privacy."

She paused, catching her breath, and looked at Sanjay. He was smiling—it seemed he liked the house.

"The mansion costs one hundred million dollars," Anna said, tensing up again, hoping he wouldn't reject it.

"Okay, I agree. Can we see the property?" Sanjay asked.

"Of course. We can take the company car or your car," Anna said.

"Let's take the company car," Sanjay replied, unsure if the hotel driver knew the location.

A delighted smile spread across Anna's face as she led Sanjay to the company's parking lot, where luxury vehicles were parked for high-value customers.

She gestured for Sanjay to sit in the back of the car before elegantly taking her seat on the other side. The driver started the car, and they smoothly headed toward the mansion.
