**Chapter 16: A Fresh Start
The sun had risen higher in the sky, its golden rays spilling into the spacious living room. Simon, now finished preparing breakfast, stood at the door to the living room, looking at Kanye and Travis still passed out on the couch. The tension from last night still hung thick in the air, but today was a new day, and Simon wasn't going to let the unresolved issues fester any longer.
He cleared his throat, stepping forward, his heavy boots making the floor creak with each step. The room was quiet except for the soft hum of the morning. Simon's voice cut through the silence like a blade.
"Wake up," he commanded, his tone firm but not angry, just matter-of-fact.
Kanye stirred first, his eyes blinking open as he tried to adjust to the brightness of the room. He groaned softly and sat up, rubbing his eyes before glancing around. His gaze quickly landed on Simon, standing just a few feet away, his eyes still cold from the events of last night.
Travis, still curled up on the couch, groaned louder, his body protesting the interruption to his sleep. He slowly turned his head to face Simon, and his eyes widened when he saw the intensity in the man's gaze.
Simon didn't give them a chance to say anything. "You're gonna eat breakfast, whether you like it or not," he said flatly, already walking toward the kitchen, knowing they would follow.
Kanye and Travis slowly pushed themselves off the couch, their movements sluggish as they followed Simon into the kitchen. They exchanged nervous glances but didn't speak. The silence between them was palpable, and they both understood the gravity of the situation.
As they entered the kitchen, they were greeted by the sight of the large breakfast spread Simon had prepared. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, and fresh fruit—everything was laid out meticulously on the table, the smell of food filling the room. It was a stark contrast to the tension that still lingered in the air.
Gigi, already seated at the table, glanced up at her husband and gave him a soft smile, though there was still an undercurrent of concern in her eyes. Simon met her gaze, giving her a small nod as he gestured for Kanye and Travis to sit down.
"Sit," Simon ordered, his voice commanding, but not harsh. It was the same tone he had used during countless missions, the kind that left no room for argument. Kanye and Travis, both still shaken by last night's events, quietly sat at the table, their eyes fixed on their plates. They knew this wasn't just a simple breakfast—it was a moment for them to either make peace or face the consequences of their actions.
Simon stood at the head of the table, his eyes scanning the room, watching them all, before finally speaking. "I'm not one for long speeches or false pleasantries. But know this—yesterday, I gave you both a chance. A chance to do right by my sisters, and by Gigi. You understand the gravity of that, right?"
Kanye and Travis both nodded, their expressions serious, even nervous. They were still on edge after Simon's threat, and the weight of it hadn't fully lifted.
"I don't care about your money or your fame," Simon continued, his voice unwavering. "What I care about is loyalty. To the people who love you. To your responsibilities. If you screw up again, there won't be a warning."
The room was dead silent as the words hung in the air. Kanye and Travis exchanged looks, unsure of how to respond. They were both men of influence, used to being in control of situations, but they knew this was different. Simon wasn't the type of person you could simply intimidate or buy your way out of.
Simon sat down next to Gigi, the intensity in his eyes finally softening as he looked at her. "Thank you for keeping me in check last night," he said quietly, a genuine smile forming on his lips. "I needed to hear that."
Gigi reached over, her hand resting gently on his. "You're welcome. Just promise me you'll take it easy. We don't need any more unnecessary drama."
Simon's smile deepened, but there was a hint of resolve in his eyes. "I don't make promises I can't keep, love. But for you, I'll try."
The tension began to dissipate as breakfast was served, and the atmosphere lightened ever so slightly. Kim, Kylie, and Kris had all sat down, and the conversation slowly started to flow. The family was still adjusting to the reality of Simon's presence and the power he carried, but they knew they couldn't continue to live in fear of his past or his anger.
Kris, glancing at Kanye and Travis, spoke up. "You two are lucky Simon didn't do what he could have last night. And you're lucky Gigi stepped in. This isn't the kind of family you want to mess with."
Kanye nodded slowly, his face still tense. "We get it, Kris. Believe me."
Travis, never one to be too vocal about his emotions, simply nodded, his face still pale but grateful to be alive.
As the family continued to eat breakfast, the conversation slowly turned to lighter topics. They talked about the upcoming plans for the weekend, shared stories from their respective weeks, and even joked about the chaos that had surrounded their dinner the night before. The tension, while not completely gone, was beginning to ease, and Simon allowed himself a moment to relax.
But deep down, he knew this wasn't over. He had made his point, but there were still consequences for the choices Kanye and Travis had made. His words weren't idle threats—he would keep his promises if it came to that.
For now, though, he was content with the peace that breakfast brought. The family was together, and for Simon, that was enough.
