Chapter 1 - Haeltoon Descend's

Riiinnnggg!!!

Inside a dimly lit room, a man opened his eyes only to see a familiar ceiling.

"Shit"

A headache assaulted me, and my eyes felt sore. The tears had already formed, ready to drop.

'Yawn'

"Damn, I played to long" I mumbled to myself, feeling the tears in my eyes. It was a pretty normal reaction considering the fact that I played the game all night.

My body screamed at me to sleep more. It was saying five hours of sleep was clearly not enough.

My eyelids were eager to close once again, ready to sleep once more.

"Fuck. When will the world end!" I cursed, remembering that today mark's the end of summer. "The school doesn't even give a fuck about us".

Swearing to the school, I dragged my body from the bed and stood up, feeling the weight of exhaustion in every step.

Though I was an avid gamer, I did my best to maintain some semblance of cleanliness in both my living space and personal hygiene. Suddenly pain assaulted my back.

'Fuck, back pain at age at nineteen. You life must suck Karl' I thought to myself.

Thinking to myself, I entered the bathroom to take a shower to get rid of drowsiness.

And after a few minutes, boom.

I was ready to leave.

In a sense, that was how most men did their daily routine, wasn't it?

And it is not like I was trying my best to look too good, either. I mean, why would I? I certainly don't need a girlfriend.

It is a waste of time….

Some of you might be saying this is what losers say.

That might be true, or maybe not.

I mean, if I liked someone, then I would want to get their attention, but sadly I didn't.

Anyway, I just grabbed a T-shirt and pants. Then, just like that, I left the room, grabbing my bag.

Suddenly Karl felt something strange inside him as if he had been punched hard in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him. His vision started to blurry and was about to be unconscious, but barely resisted.

After thirty seconds. The choking and suffocating sensation that Karl had felt a moment ago disappeared.

[Haeltoon has arrived and will reshape earth to make it susceptible to mana in thirty day's.]

Karl's body is weak, due to his negligent of his body. Considering that the number in parentheses shown in his status window was the base for a normal human being, the condition of his body was terrible.

Magic...?" He looked at the word magic with wide eyes.

Magic! A classic element of fantasy movies and light novels! Now, not only had a strange window appeared that seemed to display his meager physical abilities, but the attribute magic had also appeared on him!

'Holy shit!. My magic stat is amazing.' he thought looking at his status screen.

Before he could even ask about the system, several sounds and cries coming from outside made his body instinctively move to the window to see what was happening.

Outside, the whole world he knew had changed and what his eyes saw now was no longer the same thing he had seen just a minute ago.

People were running everywhere, screaming and begging for help as they tried with all their might to get away from other people. However, the scariest thing was that there were many people eating other people as if they were beasts.

"Help!"

A pretty girl was running for her life as she looked behind her, getting as far away from one of those strange people as possible. In an oversight, she tripped against a crack at the side of the road and fell to the ground.

One of those strange people, with its bloody mouth, caught the girl who had fallen and fiercely bit one of the young girl's arms, making her cry out in pain.

"Save me!" The young girl screamed painfully as she tried to free herself. Her expression was truly pitiful, unfortunately for her, none of the people running could be bothered with her as they were too preoccupied trying to save their own lives. Soon, her body stopped moving.

Karl stammered till his back hit the wall, feeling his being soaked in cold water, as his faced went pale.

Karl realized that these strange creatures were practically identical to zombies.

Bang!

Suddenly, the wooden door of his room received a resounding bang from the outside and Karl was forced to prepare himself for the worst.

The banging continued uninterrupted and the grunts coming from the other side of the door made it obvious that at least one zombie was trying to break through and, seeing how hard the door was being hit and how the hinges seemed about to give way at any moment, he knew he didn't have too much time to stand around without doing anything.

The wooden door finally could not withstand the constant assault and burst open with a loud noise. Immediately after the door was kicked down, two zombies staggered in.

His adrenaline kicked in and without hesitation he rushed to a lampshade, lifting it and throw it to the two undead, where one was hit and had fallen, while other was still moving forward.

Karl immediately reached to his monitor, quickly taking it and hit the undead.

The zombie fallen as well just like the other, was quickly beatin up by Karl with the monitor, till both undead died.

Clarity returned to Karl as he heard the system mechanical voice

[You have level up!]
