The sound of a ringing phone jolted me awake, my eyes fluttering open as I frantically searched nearby for the source of the noise. I never set an alarm so definitely, it's a call. But who would call at such a time? The dark blue sky had not even faded.
I groaned and sat up when my fingers wrapped around the device, the next mistake I made was to swipe the call to answer without taking a look at the caller's ID.
"Liam, how dare you?"
The voice was so loud I had to shift the phone away from my ear as the sharp pain traveled through my brain. I was fully awake thanks to the voice, the cough after is proof that he had used his strength to yell at me through the phone.
However, I felt a presence beside me, the room was dimly lit but the minute I turned to the figure unconscious beside me, my heart skipped a beat, totally forgetting I was on a call with my father as I admired the blonde and recalled the moment we had last year.

"You don't need to tell him, he should go around with women while I die," Father said in the background.
"Son, your father had a heart attack, you need to come to see him at the hospital"
I sighed in frustration. I had returned from America to take over my father's company because of his health, I had to leave my own businesses in the hands of my managers but then I never knew he had begun to have heart attacks that serious to send him to the hospital.
"I will be there soon" I informed Mother before texting her to send me the hospital address and rushing to put on my clothes. It was frustrating to do all these, but I knew I would eventually return regardless of the life I had made for myself, if I didn't my family would be ruined.
I took one last glance at the sleeping angel lying so peacefully on the bed. It's a shame I had to leave this way but I had taken her number, more like stolen her number but it was for a good cause, despite my plan to get my men search on her, I just feared losing her like I did last time.
She didn't remember me, which was a little disappointing but I could take it as a chance to start again, fortunately, that bastard was out of the way, I would have to get back at him for what he did to her.

I arrived at the hospital in no time, and I was welcomed by my father's bickering about how I have zero care for my family while my mother did the opposite.
My father laid on the hospital bed sulking and I had to apologize for visiting my hotel before home. The complaints died down after Mother and I sweetened Father up.
"You start work today, Mr. Don will put you on everything," Father said after he had calmed down, and I groaned at the thought of working. I left work and got on a 24-hour flight just to resume work here with no rest.

Before father could go into another session of complaining the door swung open and Mr Don, father's PA that I've known since I was little walked in. As always, he had a little smile on his face and when his gaze met mine, his smile widened.
"Young master," He greeted with a small bow. It's impossible how he never stopped calling me that despite all my pleas for him to stop.
"Good that you are here Don, put him through everything and ensure he works at the finance department"
At Father's words, my smile dropped before I abruptly turned to Father.
"Finance department, what do you mean, I thought I was supposed to replace you as the CEO?" I couldn't hide the shock and disappointment from my tone.
"No one is taking the CEO position from you son, I just need you to learn more about our company and so I want you to join the finance team, just for six months. And then I would retire while you take over" His voice had softened and as much as I didn't want to agree, Father was right, I couldn't start learning on the CEO seat. I let out an exasperated sigh while Mother stroked my back, comforting me.
"Fine" I was so soft for this old couple.
"So what do I need to know before getting into the finance department?" I turned to Mr. Don and asked.
"Nothing much young master, you will be working as a junior in one of the department's teams, no one will know about your identity as the heir of the company and yes, there are the rules too"
"Rules?"
"Yes, young master, like the importance of team hangout, no dating rule-"
I was taken aback by his statement, it was impossible to hold myself back, I needed to clarify if it was what I was thinking.
"No dating rule?"
"Yes, young master. Workers at the company are not allowed to date each other, it has been a rule for fifteen years now sir, there is a penalty for it too"
"And what is the penalty?"
"They will be fired, young master"
Should I be worried about that? The woman I love certainly doesn't work in the company. But if she does would I have to back down?
