In a lone and desolated forest , a faceless creature stood still among the fallen trees, it was stark naked. Metallic grey was the colour of its skin, the fore limbs traced to seem like that of a human yet ended is sharp blades from the elbow joints downwards.
The creature had an extraordinary physique but possessed no genitals. Although unmoving, the mighty beast still gave off a bone chilling aura that matched the lone and desolated image of the forest it was standing in.
The vibe was eerie and enough to drive anyone who stood before the monstrosity insane.
This creature was know as a titan. The origin of its kind remained elusive to the southern continent military force just like the truth of the titan's existance remains hidden from the rest of the world.
Faced against the titan was a young female in her early twenties, standing at around a hundred metres from the mighty beast. The young female was battered with her face all bloody and swollen but her cold blue eyes held resolve as she stared into the culpit of her demise's none existing eyes.
The stylish military uniform she wore was soaked in her own blood, sparing nothing of its red hue apart from the emblem of a shining star embeded in the left shoulder of the uniform.
Behind this young lady were some people with similar military uniforms to hers, each one of them having nasty wounds of their own.
" Aria, you should get out of here first and we will catch up later on " a weary voice from behind was addressed to the unmoving buttered young lady but Aria didn't respond.
Seeing this, the voice then sounded for a second time-trying a different approach.
" Even if by some bloody miracle you hold it off and we survive;of which you can't, the commander will end our lives himself for returning without you. Now go, its not your fault "
'But it is'
Aria thought as she curled her blood red hands into fists causing even more blood to flow out of the flesh wound on her hand.
Right now her head was ringing with the warning her father, the comander of the southern military force, gave her.
" Explore just the borders, nothing more and then you will give me a report of your observations later on " the words were still fresh in her mind yet she outrightly defied the comanders orders not only putting her comrades at risk but also forcing them to lay down their lives so that she can survive.
Her naive self had convinced her that she was ready for the real operations that the military carried out and had long forgotten that she was still only a trainee.
Aria felt so conflicted, especially since there wasn't anytime to think about it. It's not like the titan would wait patiently for her to process her thoughts.
With a heavy heart, Aria dropped the automatic gun she was holding and broke off in a full sprint towards the military camp, she was not going to take her comrades' sucrifice lightly.
While at the same time, the titan jumped foward with one step, utilizing the power of its hind legs and instantly closed the distance by a wide margin.
The rest of the remaining military force fired their ineffective guns towards the titan and as expected no damage was done when the bullets rained down on the beast.
The titan was now directly infront of its attackers and with several consecutive slashes, the attackers were no more and the gun fire also seized, all this lasted for a few seconds. The attack was just too fast for the group to react in time, the titan was faster and stronger.
A real menace.
Aria's loud footsteps and her rugged breathing filled the quiet forest as she ran frantically towards camp, her legs were hurting and blood gushed out from her wounded legs whenever she strained them.
Suddenly the sounds of gunshots could not be heard anymore.
'But it had only been a couple a seconds. Had the titan finished them off already' Aria didn't want to entertain this thought yet it was the only explanation she could think of.
Her expression hardened, she shouldn't worry about that for now. She could not afford to.
It may have sounded cruel but it was the truth, worrying about the death of her comrades now would only lead to Aria's death and that would mean that all their sucrifices would have been in vain.
Up ahead some light was able to penetrate the dark gloomy forest which gave Aria the new found strengh to survive.
" Aah!" Aria suddenly let out a low painful cry. In her rush to survive, Aria had already lost focus on where her feet landed while she ran. As a result, her left ankle twisted in an akward manner; it was sprained.
To Aria, the pain was bearable but the real problem was the speed at which she moved decreased drastically.
As if she hadn't had her fair share of bad lack, sounds of breaking branches could be heard behind her, the titan which had been a good distance behind her was quickly catching up.
Aria was now in a fix, if anyone would have told her that her day would end with her running for her life like this she would have never believed them.
It had turned into a nightmare.
But here she was, making her escape from a formidable foe whom she understood very little about.
Aria shook her head to dispel the toxic thoughts that were quickly clouding her judgement. This thoughts would inevitably lead to her death. Gritting her teeth, Aria completely ignored the pain in her left leg and increased her speed. She had to sucrifice herself to a little pain in order to survive.
Completely oblivious to the fact that the titan perseuing her was approximately fifty metres behind her, which was enough to be its striking distance, Aria moved forward without reducing her speed in the slightest.
A few more steps and she would be competely out of the eerie forest. At the same time, the titan in persuit made an impressive and almost imposible jump instantly moving foward like an arrow relased from a bow.
Luckily Aria had now stepped out of the gloomy forest and into the dusty fields showered in the glow of the setting sun.
The titan made a weird turn with its body cutting its flight short before it was out of the forest, it fell on the ground with a thud and immediately retreated into the comfort of the dark.
White slits stared at Aria from inside the forest for a while before disappearing into the eerie darkness once more.
Aria of course didn't know about this and continued moving foward but fell shortly after, she completely lost the strength to move and fell unconscious in an instant.

The southern continent military force had made a roster for patrols and currently a cohort of five men were heading towards the the outer area of the dark forest. Just to make sure that no unusual activity was going on.
It was better to be safe than sorry but it's not like they have the power to do anything if things went south.
The island was named devil's paradise because some few months ago while the southern military force were exploring this unclaimed territory, an unknown species of beasts was discovered here; this species had taken residence in the island and for some reason, they were not revealing themselves to the world.
Of course this unknown species was the titans. The reason the military commander didn't reveal this information to the southern continent government and the rest of the world was due to personal reasons he didn't let anyone know about.
He just told his government that the military just had a special wilderness training in this uninhabited island. He also told his team, the military personnel, that they had to be sure that the emergence of the titans was indeed a threat before revealing this information which would send the world into turmoil.
Having gained so much trust from either parties, no one found reason to suspect him of any alterior motives.
The other continents obviously took note of the unusual movement of the southern continent military force to the uninhabited island, which was generaly known as the central continent; considering it was not small at all.
The only reason that prevented them from asking questions was the commander's answer of being there for military training.
Currently, a group of six military men were patrolling the area. Regular patrols were carried out;by orders of the commander, so that any irregular activities would be noted easily and responded to with immediate effect.
" Hey is that a human body over there? " One of the men spoke, unsure of his claim.
The others halted their steps to take a look,
" let's move closer to be sure"
And sure enough a bloodied body laid on the ground unconscious. It was Aria, the commander's daughter.
