"Again?" hissed the husky voice, full of arrogance, piercing Kai's eardrums. The man was still clutching the disgusting red liquid. His red eyes burned with hatred, like smoldering embers. "Hey, slave, drink this or you'll die!" he said, as if assuming Kai could only stare at him with a glare.
Kai swatted the bottle away with full force. The red liquid splashed to the ground, its foul odor filling the room. Five years he spent in this disgusting place, and of course, he wouldn't drink it. He stared at the man with a vengeful gaze.
"Despicable creature? Hah, how funny. If I'm a lowly creature, then you're the lowest of lowly creatures!" The man held Kai's face and forced open his mouth. "Look at these fangs, and those eyes. Hey, slave, wake up! Even if you are a slave, you are still a vampire," he said with a sardonic smile, then released Kai's head from his grip.
"What a fool. I don't understand why Your Grace brought a disobedient slave like you here," the man grumbled, sighing and shaking his head before leaving him alone.
Kai leaned his body against the wall. He hated his situation, but the vampire's words were true. He hated himself, the fangs in his mouth, and those red eyes. Everything he hated.
Five years ago, Eldoria Village, where Kai grew up, was a peaceful village, inhabited by the human race. A safe and peaceful village, where he lived quietly and peacefully with his family. Until one day, the village was attacked by a horde of vampire nobles led by a vampire named Alfred. When Kai returns from the forest after hunting, his village has been destroyed. The villagers lay lifeless, their bodies covered in wounds from sharp objects.
Seeing the horrific scene, Kai rushed home to check on his parents and older sister. However, his hopes were dashed. In front of his house, he found Klara, his older sister, lying with a bite on her neck. "Klara...!"
Kai paused, then entered the house. He saw his mother and father bitten by vampires. "Mom...!!! Dad...!!!" His mother, with haggard eyes, slowly said his name, "K... Kai...". His father, hearing the call, shouted at the top of his lungs, "Kai, run quickly! I can't save Klara, so at least I hope you live." The vampire heard him, but was indifferent.
"Uaghhhhhhh!!!!!" Her father screamed in pain as the vampire threw his body against the wall of the house. Her mother was already starting to go limp and helpless. The two vampires licked their lips as they murmured, "Thank you for the food."
Kai should have run, but instead he followed his instincts, approaching the vampire and biting its leg. He intended to immobilize it. However, his mind was very naive. He forgot that vampires had the ability to regenerate.
"Ahahaha, Oi. You stupid human, are you so eager to become my slave by drinking my blood of your own accord? If you drink vampire blood, then you are not human anymore," the vampire said out loud, then kicked Kai until his body hit the wall.
"Ah, you bastard! I was going to suck you off after this, but you offered yourself to be my subordinate," said the vampire, approaching Kai, forcibly opening his mouth. "Ahahaha, look, those fangs~! And those red eyes, well... Now you're not human anymore," he said with a smile.
Kai was surprised. That wasn't his intention. He looked at the mirror beside him and saw the changes: his eyes were no longer black, but red, and his teeth had changed. He was silent for a moment. His body was no longer a human body, except for his hair which had only changed by half.
"Hmm... But your hair only changed by half. Is this because you haven't drunk the blood of your race before~? Interesting, I've never raised a subordinate from a human before. So, I'll take you!" The vampire hit Kai's stomach with great force.
Blood came out of Kai's mouth, and his vision began to blur. He almost fainted.
When Kai came to, he was already in a cramped cell room. After bringing him here, the vampire named Alfred never appeared again, only ordering his subordinates to bring him bottles of blood and telling him to drink it. For five years, Kai managed to resist.
However, the refusal sometimes made him feel a hunger that almost drove him crazy. This time, the hunger came again! He saw a rat running around in his cell. Quickly, he caught the rat and drank its blood.
The rat's blood could last him about ten days. Fortunately, vampires could drink animal blood. At least, this kept him from starving, although five years ago, after drinking it, he vomited almost all of the rat's blood.
Rumbling sounds and screams echoed from outside, shaking the walls of his small prison cell. The vibrations were bone-chilling. Was it the Hunter? He had heard from Alfred's subordinates about a group of organizations that hunted vampires, called the Hunter.
Alfred and the other vampires must be fighting. Kai's heart pounded wildly, not out of fear, but out of opportunity. Five years trapped here, five years of unquenchable hunger, five years of fighting Alfred and his disgusting blood fluid. The mouse was only enough for a few days.
He huddled in the corner of the cell, listening to the cacophony of battle outside. The sounds of weapons, human and vampire screams mingled. The smell of blood-human blood-smelled faintly, pricking his nose and making his stomach rumble. This was a golden opportunity. This chaos could be a way out.
He got up, his muscles feeling stiff after years of confinement. He approached the cell wall, tapping the rough stones with his fingers. There had to be an opening, a way out. If there wasn't, he would make one. Vampires are quite strong, and the rat's blood energized him. He had to take advantage of this opportunity.
He began to gather the energy in his hands, then hit the cell wall.
"It worked...!" he muttered, and crawled out of the cell. The sunlight felt strange after so long. He searched for something like a cloak to cover his body, then walked away from the cell room.
The rumbling sound was dying down. Was the battle over? Hopefully the Hunters would win, so he could easily escape from here.
"Stop! There, who are you?" A woman's voice made Kai flinch. He froze, scared and panicked. Did she realize where he was? He had to escape. He turned to run, but she had her hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, I told you to wait!" The woman's voice was stern, but there was a hint of surprise in her tone as she looked Kai in the eye. "You... vampire?" The gun was already pointed right at Kai.
"I'm not like them!" Kai tried to break free, but the woman's grip was too strong. "I just... I just want to get out of here!"
"Don't lie!" The woman looked Kai sharply in the eye. "Your eyes are red, and... what are those? Fangs?" She pointed at Kai's mouth. "And your hair... black and white? I've never seen a vampire like you."
"I told you, don't equate me with them!" Kai pushed the woman's shoulder hard, trying to break free. Anger and despair mixed together in him. "I'm not like them, I'm their victim!"
"Victim? Hey, were you human before?" The woman finally lowered her weapon. "I never heard of something called half-human and half-vampire. Perhaps you have never drunk human blood? Impossible, a human who becomes a vampire would not be able to survive without drinking human blood," the woman asked in surprise.
