Chapter 1 - Unexpected Encounters in the City

In the heart of New York City, at the Hyatt Centric Hotel, a young black man named Zumi from Flint, Michigan, was working as a cleaner, cleaning a hotel room's toilet. His lean, muscular physique made him strikingly handsome. Coincidentally, as he completed his assignment, the hotel's guests came back, obviously intoxicated following a night of revelry. Unfortunately, they didn't notice the "cleaning in progress" sign. Just as Zumi was leaving, he had an accidental collision with the guests. Startled by the fall, Zumi looked down and saw two beautiful girls crying on the floor. He quickly apologized, saying, "Oh! I'm so sorry," as he attempted to help them up. One of the girls, however, rejected his touch with a yell of, "AH!" Back Off, Loser!! How dare you try to touch me! "A passerby overheard the commotion and rushed to assist the girls, berating Zumi for his alleged actions. "Sasha, let's go back to our room and leave that loser out here!" the girl who slapped Zumi's hand away told her friend." She looked at Zumi with disdain and disgust. Following a whispered conversation, she saw a flirtatious look from the guy who'd helped them and smiled at him.Meanwhile, from inside, Sasha called, "Jalynn, are you coming?"

 Jalynn replied, "Coming!" rushing inside.

Deliberately, she pushed Zumi out of the way, the door slamming loudly behind her.

Feeling awkward and embarrassed, Zumi returned the cleaning supplies to the supply closet. Then, as his shift was finally over, he punched out for the day. It was 2 a.m., and although Zumi lived quite far away, he was accustomed to going home at this time. On his way home, he always took a shortcut across a street known for its heavy crime activity. For 3-4 years, he'd used this route without incident until today.

Aware of its dangerous reputation, he still took the shortcut through the high-crime street. Zumi had never experienced any crime-related incidents in the many years he had lived there. He had noticed that between 2 am and 4 am, the area was usually devoid of people. Yet, as he walked home that evening, he encountered a young woman lying unconscious and badly hurt in the alley he was near. Seized by immediate panic, Zumi rushed to her. "Miss, miss, excuse me," he spoke with concern. He was captivated by her astonishing beauty the moment he saw her face. Though he'd seen many attractive women while working at the hotel, none were as beautiful as she was. Unable to leave the unresponsive woman, Zumi brought her back to his place for safety. Upon entering his home, Zumi softly set her down on the toilet seat of his bathroom. He tended to her injuries, cleaning her face and bandaging her wounds. Zumi, unable to afford formal education, independently pursued his interest in medicine.

He broadened his knowledge over the years by even watching college lectures. His treatment of her wounds was both skillful and thorough. Considering the cold night, he carefully carried her to his bed and tucked her in afterward. His bedroom's small, single couch, placed before his bed, became his seat while he waited for her to recover. On the sofa, before falling asleep, he gazed at her one last time, his heart heavy at the idea of someone harming her. He became increasingly angry about her situation. Zumi read a book about Shaolin martial arts until 6 am before finally falling asleep. At 7 am, a scream jolted him from his sleep. "Ahhh! Where am I?"

A high-pitched, sweet, but gentle voice cried out in shock. "Everything's alright, miss," Zumi quickly reassured her. Yesterday, I discovered you were unconscious in an alley. Because of your severe injuries, I took you to my house for care. I couldn't possibly leave you. Shock registered on the woman's face as she looked at Zumi. Upon verifying that he had not acted inappropriately towards her, she was impressed.

"Would you mind telling me your name, please?" she asked.

He answered, "Zumi Gold."

" I'm grateful for your help. Your kindness won't be forgotten; I'll return the favor," she said gratefully. Zumi answered humbly, "No, no, it's no need." I only did what anybody would do. Leaving you wasn't an option for me. "Impressed, she asked, "How old are you?

"I am 28," Zumi answered. The woman, Dojima Anastasia, reflected, "I am just a year older than him. He's pretty cute."

Upon noticing her disheveled outfit, she asked if Zumi had any spare clothes she could borrow for the day. Zumi quickly agreed and fetched some clothes from his closet that he believed would fit her.

"Thank you. If you ever need anything in the future, I will support you no matter what. I swear I will have your back," the woman promised.

Zumi gestured toward a cozy little room in the corner, a warm smile spreading across his face. "The bathroom is just over there. Feel free to take a shower whenever you like." As he turned to leave, he hesitated for a moment and added, "By the way, what's your name?" His eyes sparkled with curiosity.

She replied with a soft smile, "Dojima Anastasia. You can call me Ana."

Zumi returned the smile and said, "See you soon, Ana," as he left the room to prepare breakfast for them. After a couple of minutes, Zumi finished cooking, and Ana suddenly came downstairs. Her extraordinary beauty took Zumi aback. He couldn't help but gasp in shock. He was completely mesmerized and couldn't comprehend how someone could be so beautiful.

He struggled to determine her ethnic background. Her waist-length red hair flowed beautifully down her back. The unique combination of features on her face made it hard for him to guess where she was from. Perhaps a blend of Serbian with elements of Japanese and German, or even a fusion of all these cultures. However, one thing he was sure of was that Ana was absolutely breathtaking. Zumi collected himself and presented her with a satisfying breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast. Ana's face glowed with a warm smile as she looked at the mouth-watering meal in front of her, expressing thanks with a heartfelt "Thank you so much. No one has ever cooked me a meal before."

"Zumi looked surprised and asked, "Really? Not a single person? Nodding sadly, Ana expressed her emotions. I never had the chance to know my mom. My mother died when I was 4, and my father, the Yakuza Boss of my family, was too preoccupied to be there for me. I've always been able to rely on Kathy and Jasmine, my two bodyguards. Kathy expressed a desire to learn how to cook, but we never found the time. Ordering takeout is a regular occurrence for us. Zumi sympathized with Ana, yet it was the bombshell about her father's role as a Yakuza Boss that truly captured his interest. Ana could see the shock clearly displayed on his face. She swiftly comforted him by saying, "There's no need to be scared of me."

I promise I'll tell my family you helped me, and we won't harm you. With a look of confusion, Zumi uttered, "Oh no!" I'm not scared of you. I must admit, your ties to the Yakuza make you even more appealing to me. She smiled as she remarked, "That's an unexpected response."

Suddenly, an alarm went off on the Google Home device in the kitchen corner, surprising them both. "Master Zumi, it's time to get to work," a voice spoke.

When Ana heard Zumi's Google assistant address him as "Master Zumi," she couldn't help but smirk. "Master Zumi," she said with a teasing tone. Zumi said, "I've always desired to establish an organization in the future, and I've fantasized about being called 'Master'."

"Zumi smiled and said, "I should get to work. I'll be back by 2 am since I have two jobs. Ana proposed sharing contact information for staying in touch.

Zumi gave Ana his home keys as he left her there, as a key was needed to enter and leave. Ana expressed gratitude and wished, "Thank you for your trust, and have a wonderful day at work."

"Zumi smiled intensely. A woman of exceptional beauty wished him well for his day at work. He had never heard anyone say something like that to him before, and now there was a woman who surpassed his idea of what a beautiful woman should be, sincerely wishing him the best. Upon hearing this, Zumi couldn't stop smiling widely. Flustered, he quickly muttered a "Thank you" before rushing out of the house for work. As he left, Ana thought, "He's pretty cute."

As soon as Zumi began his work as a cashier at a fast-food store, he spotted two familiar faces entering. It was Sasha and Jalynn, whom Zumi had bumped into the night before. However, their encounter turned unpleasant as the women began to mock and insult Zumi. They called him a loser and belittled his job, making him feel hurt and upset. Despite the hurtful words, Zumi remembered the values his parents had taught him – to be kind to everyone, even those who treated him poorly. He shrugged off his hurt and greeted the women with a warm welcome, asking for their order. However, their insults continued, drawing a crowd and escalating the situation. "You're nothing but a lowly Pauper, barely scraping by. "You wouldn't understand what it's like to have wealth and privilege." You are such a pathetic loser who will never amount to anything. No wonder nobody wants to be around you." Feeling sad and lonely, Zumi's emotions reached a boiling point. Summoning the courage he had felt since meeting Ana the night before, he shouted, "ENOUGH!" The crowd fell silent in shock. At that moment, a tall and fierce woman entered the restaurant. She was about 5'8" tall, wearing a suit and exuding confidence. Her long, jet-black hair and fiery orange eyes made her presence commanding. As she approached Zumi, the crowd parted to make way for her. Zumi, strangely unafraid of her, found her fierceness intriguing and attractive. However, realizing he was at work, he regained focus and greeted the woman with the restaurant's signature welcome. To his surprise, the woman smiled, and Zumi's heart skipped a beat – she was beautiful. The Woman Spoke. Her voice was soft and sweet but held a lot of authority and confidence. Zumi knew she was a woman who knew who she was and what she stood for. "Greetings, Master Zumi; my name is Gia. I am an attendant of Lady Anastasia. I was sent to offer this car so you can get home without walking tonight. She hands him some keys to a car. Seeing the car keys he was given, everyone gasped in shock. Only one pair of car keys in the world looked that fancy. The only individuals in the world who owned those expensive luxurious cars were known as members of the highest order of criminal activity. Even the police didn't dare mess with them without a proper reason.

Zumi received shocked looks from everyone. Who in the world was this guy? The faces of Sasha and Jalynn, who had been mocking Zumi, turned pale in fear. Had they just offended someone high up in the crime world? Zumi took the keys even though deep down he did not want to but felt like it would be an insult to Ana if he refused. After he took them, he remembered something and gestured for Gia to come closer. As she obeyed without hesitation, he whispered in her ear.

"Umm, I can't drive, and I don't have a license."

Gia smiled, bowed in respect, and reassured, "That's fine, Master Zumi." Lady Ana has hired me as your personal Security, and I am very skilled in driving. I'll be happy to serve you as your driver and do any other thing you wish."

Zumi expressed gratitude by smiling and saying, "Gia, thank you." In that case, I will return the keys to you, and I will be finished with work in 20 minutes. May I meet you in the car then?"

With a smile, Gia acknowledged, "I understand, Master Zumi." As she said this, she took out a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Phone from her pocket, handed it to Zumi and said a Gift for you from Lady Ana. Her number and mine have already been inputted into it. Should you need anything, we will always be a call away."

Zumi was frozen in shock for a moment, holding back tears. He had just received a have a great day at work comment from Ana that morning, and now he had received a brand-new phone and the latest model as well.

This was the most kindness he had ever received from anyone. He wanted to leap over the Counter and Hug Gia, but restraining himself, he took the phone, put it in his pocket, and said Thank you!"

Smiling, Gia made her way to the car, casting a menacing glare at the people nearby. They all understood what her glare meant; anybody who dared continue mocking Zumi would be in trouble. Many people dispersed and ordered food to go.

In fear, Sasha and Jalynn, the ones who provoked Zumi's mocking, departed from the restaurant. The rest of Zumi's day went smoothly, and 20 minutes passed quickly.

Just as he was about to head out of work to meet Gia by car, the phone provided by Gia to Zumi started ringing. He picked up the call as Ana was calling.

"Hello," he said while walking outside to the car.

"Zumi, are you done with work?" Are you free for a bit before your second job? I've reunited with my bodyguards, and they want to meet you! We are at your house now." Ana said.

Zumi said, "I am about to hop into the car with Gia. I need to get some extra groceries since more people will live with me. If you are able, you can meet me at the Ginseng Supermarket."

Ana responded, "I've reunited with my bodyguards, and we are on our way. See you soon." As Zumi hung up, he got into the passenger side of the car and asked Gia if she could take him to the Ginseng Supermarket.

Understood, Master Zumi, Gia replied as she began driving off. Zumi smirked slightly after hearing Gia call him Master Zumi.
