He was slightly skeptical, was he really that lucky?
He looked at the wall of notifications, and around the perimeter.
His gaze carried itself, as he took in the fresh air.
While there were no particularly interesting sights, he started to walk over to the end of the plateau.
After several minutes of walking he finally reached it, looking down, caused him to take a step back.
For hundreds... thousands of meters it was a drop.
Shaking his head, distancing himself from the edge, he gathered his thoughts.
Okay, so his environment despite being S-rank was not generous with at-least above ground resources.
If there were mineral deposits, they had to be sought out in an extended investigation.
The vantage point was great, scary but great.
Then, there were the rewards.
He rummaged through the bag, water, jerky, a basic tent.
Sighing, he took a bite of the jerky and began interacting with the system.
'So the message said, there was a trading and chat functions.'
The inventory function, as well, and mention of base location designation.
He first checked the inventory.
In a tab based display, he saw the various things he owned like the sword, cloak, skill upgrade token, and the rest.
Caesus prodded the first icon, that of the sword, first.
Displayed immediately was the stats of it.
[ [S-RANK] Worn Greatsword ]
> A Sword that has a great deal of wear, despite that it is very dense, and retains a smidge of sharpness.
> Effect 1: 1.5x Strength Boost
> Effect 2: 20% Knockback Boost
Level Up For Additional Effects...
Next he checked the Cloak.
[ [S-RANK] Tattered Cloak ]
A blood-red cloak, torn in several places, reeks of iron.
> Effect 1: +10% Morale
> Effect 2: +10 Endurance
Level Up...
Caesus had to say these sounded exceptional, however, he was not yet aware of the impact specifically of something like 10% morale, etc.
He checked the token next.
[ Skill Upgrade Token ]
> Select a skill, to enhance its rank by a grade. One skill upgrade token usable a day.
Nice to have, may be optimal to retain for later usage.
Having seen these items, he looked at the hero ticket next.
[ Hero Summoning Token ]
> A Token, when used, summons a hero, based on the faction of the lord who used it.
He wondered, what would he get?
Resisting using it, he checked the other functions of the system. He would check the skills later. There was no combat risks at this time to require expediting such tasks.
When he checked the trade tab, he saw there was the ability to list items, select lords to trade with, and other modules.
Following that, he checked the chat tab.
The moment he did he saw numerous messages.
Phoenix_Axe (#27): "Mommy, I wanna go home."
BigAura (#10): "Where is everyone? We should work together, I have a A-rank defensive unit..."
Swoleaggeddon (#33): "My muscles are huge fr. Any lady friends need protecting?"
...
A sea of messages continuously filtered through his vision.
He noted the number next to the names, were they rankings or...
EmpressOrdersYou (#3): "Revealing your hand is unwise, though teamwork is good, don't just team up with anyone."
AbsoluteFreedom999 (#4): "Well, enough numbers can do wonders."
EmpressOrdersYou (#3): "Connections are vital, but you would just be wasting time if you don't actually connect and others are actually scheming or they are not worth investing in."
EmpressOrdersYou (#3): Speaking of numbers, are the numbers ranks, or what?
BigAura (#10): "Looks to be based on when we became lords."
AbsoluteFreedom999 (#4): A head start? Teaming up is really not a terrible option. Though I feel as if we all got here at once."
> "That said, who got here first?"
BigAura (#10): This is one heck of a day, I was just surfing the web, wbyall?"
Several messages were spammed.
Many mentioned job hunting, working, or scrolling social media.
Of course, there were some people throwing jokes.
"Back in my day, we called it the interweb."
It was good information, though not always helpful, it would be a fine way to gather info and communicate with other lords.
About to close the chat, he focused his attention as he got a notification.
It looked to be from one of the systems, turned plugin.
[ Task: Introduce yourself as a Lord ]
> Reward: Training Dummy
Why would he want to do that?
When he tried to check the details of the reward, it worked.
The results surprised him.
It would be a statically positioned training device that would be practiced on, via weapons, magic or other skills, rewarding 1 xp.
There were no enemies in sight.
He supposed, for the sake of getting an ounce of strength, a mere introduction was fine.
When he went to go type, he was prompted to enter a name.
Raising his finger to his chin, he spent a second to ponder, then entered his name.
[ Ding! You have chosen The Sun as your lord moniker. You may modify this every 30 days. ]
Typing out something simple to the chat, he wrote:
[ The Sun: #1 ] "The weather, its quite fair today."
To nobodies' surprise, his message was completely obliterated as messages rained down in the chat feed.
Chuckling, he heard the ding of the system-- task complete.
He got the training dummy.
With the other key functions of the system explored, he was able to choose the location of the base.
With no cost to make it, he deliberated for a moment.
There were not many options for where he could put the base.
Therefore, he chose, the middle of the plateau.
In an instant, his base, his first building was completed.
