Chapter 129 - Chapter 128: A New Discovery in Quantum Space

"Where is this?" Pteranodon Norman asked in astonishment, surveying his surroundings. The strange environment of the Quantum Realm left him in awe.

Meanwhile, Allosaurus Noro and Allosaurus Sutter huddled together in silence, their fear of this mysterious space evident from their expressions.

As for Allosaurus Yoya, she remained sprawled on the ground, snoring away. Who knew how much sedative those people had used on her? Whatever the dosage, it was working exceptionally well.

Brown Paper Vulture and Gwen also curiously examined their surroundings.

Previously, when they traveled to Garfield-Spidey's universe, they had used the Interdimensional Gateway stored in the Eye of Agamotto. They hadn't entered a Quantum Realm-based passage before.

Peter had decided to test a theory this time.

He had suddenly realized a major issue—humans like himself, Gwen, and Ava (Ghost) could blend into a human city without much trouble. Even Brown Paper Vulture could barely pass unnoticed.

But Pteranodon Norman and the three Allosaurus mutants?

If they suddenly appeared in a human city, it would cause absolute chaos.

And that would completely contradict the low-profile approach that Supreme Strange had advised him to follow.

So, a question arose in Peter's mind—

Could he find a way to hide them somewhere safe and only summon them when needed?

Too bad he didn't have any Poké Balls…

But maybe the Quantum Realm could serve the same purpose.

Since Peter had direct access to the Quantum Realm, that meant if this plan worked, he could store and retrieve individuals at will.

If so, then this Quantum Space wouldn't just serve as a transit station between universes—

It could also function as the headquarters for the Interdimensional Task Force!

However, there was one problem.

After pulling everyone into this space, Peter noticed that it drained a massive amount of his quantum energy.

Two people and four dinosaurs—and his quantum reserves were nearly completely depleted!

Only after spending some time in the Quantum Realm did he slowly recover.

"I can bring people here, but I can't bring too many at once," Peter analyzed the situation. Then, he turned his gaze to the four massive dinosaurs.

"The amount of quantum energy consumed is directly related to body size. These guys drain ten times more energy than Gwen and Brown Paper Vulture combined!"

That meant—

If they were normal human-sized beings, he could probably bring around a hundred people at once!

Peter filed away that information for future use.

Next, he turned to Gwen and asked her how she was feeling.

Hearing his question, Gwen focused on her body for a moment before shaking her head.

"I don't feel anything weird… Wait. Actually… I don't need to breathe?"

…She doesn't need to breathe?

Peter instinctively glanced down at Gwen's chest, then immediately averted his eyes.

"Huh… there's… barely any movement…"

Of course, Gwen noticed his little slip-up. With a smirk, she teased, "Enjoying the view?"

Peter let out an awkward laugh. "That was just… an unconscious reaction…"

Now that she mentioned it, he himself hadn't been breathing either.

Breathing was such a fundamental and automatic function that people rarely noticed it.

But this raised a new question—

Aside from him, none of the others should theoretically be able to survive in the Quantum Realm.

Because the Quantum Realm Has No Air!

That meant their very presence here was consuming something else.

Quantum energy, perhaps?

Peter reached out his hand toward Gwen.

Though unsure of his intent, Gwen trusted him completely. Without hesitation, she extended her hand and held his.

Even though this wasn't their first time holding hands, the warmth of his palm still made her cheeks flush slightly.

"Why is he holding my hand all of a sudden? Everyone else is watching too…"

But Peter wasn't concerned about her flustered thoughts.

He was focused entirely on sensing the quantum energy within her body.

Having absorbed and wielded quantum energy for some time now, Peter had complete mastery over its properties.

Before long, he detected the presence of quantum energy inside Gwen.

This was likely the energy he had instinctively infused into her when bringing her into the Quantum Realm.

But something puzzled him—

This energy wasn't just floating inside her; it had formed a thin protective membrane, completely enveloping her body.

Beyond this membrane, the wild quantum energy of the Quantum Realm was constantly attacking it.

The two forces canceled each other out, dissipating back into the environment—causing Gwen's quantum energy to deplete over time.

After observing for a while, Peter finally understood.

Aside from himself, any other living being inside the Quantum Realm required quantum energy to survive.

And not just any quantum energy—

It had to be "filtered" through him first.

Judging by the reaction, wild quantum energy might actually be toxic to them!

Without the protection of his filtered quantum energy, they would either suffocate or be completely consumed by the ambient quantum forces in an instant.

From another perspective, though, this discovery was quite interesting.

Normally, injecting his quantum energy into a living being would harm them—this was the basis of his Quantum Venom Sting ability.

However, inside the Quantum Realm, the external quantum forces would actively draw out his infused energy—

preventing it from damaging their bodies.

With that in mind, Peter gathered some freshly absorbed quantum energy and channeled it into Gwen.

Then, he repeated the process for Brown Paper Vulture, Pteranodon Norman, and the three Allosaurus mutants, ensuring they all had sufficient energy.

But there was a problem.

After all that effort, Peter realized that not only did he fail to replenish his own energy, he had completely drained the little he had left!

The good news was that through this process, Peter had figured out how quantum energy consumption worked.

Compared to bringing people in, the energy required to maintain someone inside the Quantum Realm was significantly lower—

Roughly one-tenth of the initial cost.

This meant that a single full charge of his quantum energy could sustain 100 people inside the Quantum Realm for about 10 days.

And as long as he focused, recharging his energy took less than a minute.

"Hmm… this method is viable, but having to manually recharge them all the time is kind of annoying. If I could figure out a way to create a converter or storage device, that would be ideal."

Unfortunately, until he found a solution, Peter would have to act as the power bank himself.

After multiple rounds of charging, he finally provided Pteranodon Norman and the three Allosaurus mutants enough energy to last them a month.

Only then did he stop.
