Chapter 123 - Chapter 122: Pterosaur Norman

The fierce wind howled past Peter's ears.

At this moment, he was already riding the Wind God Pterosaur, leaving the Sanctum Supreme of the Extraordinary Universe behind.

Yet, a phrase Doctor Strange had left him with before parting still echoed in his mind:

"Chaos is a ladder."

At first glance, it seemed cryptic, but upon deeper thought, its meaning became clear.

Peter, as a traveler from another world, was fundamentally different from beings like the Vulture or the Wind God Pterosaur.

Although they all came from one universe to another where they technically didn't belong, causing varying degrees of impact, Peter was an anomaly from beyond the "countless worlds." This meant that whatever he did—no matter how small—would ripple across the entire multiverse.

As his strength grew and his influence expanded, this impact would only intensify.

Eventually, it would bring him face-to-face with that mysterious figure who seemed to control many universes—and the forces behind him.

Originally, Peter's mere existence would've stood out, making it easy for such beings to detect him.

But now, a wave of chaos sweeping across the multiverse for reasons unknown had provided the perfect cover.

Unless his enemies possessed soul-perceiving prowess on par with Doctor Strange or near-omniscient abilities, they wouldn't be able to sense Peter's true nature—even if he stood right in front of them.

At most, they'd see him as just another unusual entity among the infinite variations of the multiverse.

Especially in this current multiversal turmoil, where countless beings were crossing from one universe to another for different reasons.

Under such circumstances, Peter's universe-hopping and even subtly altering original storylines were effectively concealed.

After all, a single stone causes noticeable ripples when tossed into a still pond—but when countless stones are thrown in one after another, the pond becomes a sea of overlapping waves. Amidst all that chaos, one ripple hardly matters.

Peter then glanced down at the Wind God Pterosaur beneath him.

Before leaving, Doctor Strange had given him a parting gift—a soul spell.

Its effect was simple yet invaluable: it allowed Peter to bypass language barriers and communicate directly through mental consciousness.

This ability was crucial for him.

As he ventured into more universes in the future, he'd inevitably face communication challenges. But with this magical "auto-translator," those obstacles were effortlessly removed.

Naturally, after acquiring this ability, Peter's first test subject was the Wind God Pterosaur.

What he learned left him stunned.

This pterosaur's real name was Norman!

He had once been a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

One day, while leading his T-Rex gang on a hunt through the jungle, he set his sights on a group of pterosaurs living between the forests and mountains.

Among them was an especially weak pterosaur named Peter Parker, who had narrowly escaped capture several times.

But today, they decided to make Peter Parker their next meal.

T-Rex Norman stormed into the pterosaurs' nest, and while Peter Parker was distracted, Norman sank his teeth into his wing.

Just as it seemed Peter Parker's life was about to end in Norman's jaws, a meteor suddenly plummeted from the sky.

By sheer coincidence, it struck Norman square on the head!

Blood splattered everywhere.

Both T-Rex Norman and Pterosaur Peter collapsed.

From the cracked meteor, countless spiders crawled out.

With their leader fallen, Norman's T-Rex gang scattered like frightened birds. The other pterosaurs, Peter's companions, had long since fled.

Night passed, and dawn broke.

When sunlight bathed the pterosaur nest, two staggering figures slowly rose to their feet.

It was none other than T-Rex Norman and Pterosaur Peter!

But their appearances had changed drastically.

Parker, who was originally a pterosaur, had now transformed into a mighty tyrannosaurus with a muscular red-and-blue body, short forelimbs, and razor-sharp fangs—all clear signs that he had become a T-Rex!

Meanwhile, Norman, who was originally a T-Rex, had turned into a massive pterosaur with a green head and wings, while his neck and back were purple. His new form closely resembled the mightiest of all pterosaurs—the Quetzalcoatlus!

At first, the newly transformed pterosaur Norman couldn't believe what had happened to his body. Then, enraged, he charged straight at T-Rex Parker.

"You bastard, Parker! It must be your filthy, lowly blood that got into my body and turned me into this freak!"

Norman's furious outburst startled Parker.

He quickly explained, "What the hell are you talking about?! That rock came out of nowhere and hit us! We both passed out—I have no idea what happened after that! Maybe try using that walnut-sized brain of yours and think—does what you're saying even make sense?"

Norman: ?! This explanation is refreshingly ridiculous!

"I don't care! It's your fault that I've turned into something as weak as you!" Norman roared in anger.

Hearing the word "weak" once again, Parker's rage boiled over.

He had had enough.

Back when he was a helpless, vulnerable pterosaur, the T-Rexes constantly attacked him, trying to eat him.

Sometimes, they would scare him on purpose just to watch him flee in panic, laughing as they saw him run for his life.

The humiliation... The endless humiliation!

He had endured it for too long!

Power!

An overwhelming surge of power erupted within T-Rex Parker as his fury ignited.

"ROAR!!" Parker unleashed the full might of a true tyrannosaurus.

With a powerful swing of his thick tail, he sent Norman flying through the air.

Although Norman had mutated into a Quetzalcoatlus, making him massive in size, he was still a flying creature. Compared to land-dwelling beasts of the same scale, he was at a disadvantage in terms of weight and sheer physical strength.

Moreover, he never expected the "weak" Parker to dare strike back.

Caught off guard, he was instantly wounded.

"You damn bastard, Parker!" Norman roared in fury, flipping over quickly. Instinct took over as he adjusted to his new body and lunged at Parker.

The two dinosaurs clashed, grappling fiercely. However, since neither was fully accustomed to their transformed bodies, the battle ended in a stalemate.

In the end, Norman chose to retreat.

For now, the fight was over.

Returning to his former lair, Norman was furious to discover that his old T-Rex underlings were seizing the opportunity to divide up his "inheritance"!

Believing their boss had died, they were looting his belongings and preparing to flee.

Enraged, Norman immediately killed the traitorous underlings. Then, regaining control over his remaining forces, he set out to seek revenge against Parker.

However, while Norman was busy rallying his forces, Parker was also growing accustomed to his newfound abilities.

When Norman and his group of T-Rex followers launched their attack, Parker remained calm.

With ease, he raised his short forelimbs and shot out a barrage of webbing, binding all of Norman's T-Rex underlings in an instant.

Then, without a second glance, he turned and walked away.

Before leaving, he declared his new name.

From now on, he would be known as—Spider T-Rex!
