Chapter 54 - The Might of Aizen!
Kyōka Suigetsu, his Zanpakutō, actually obeyed an outsider's command, defying Aizen's will.
Aizen Sōsuke didn't understand what was happening, but his eyes glinted coldly as he looked at Kyōka Suigetsu.
Kyōka Suigetsu's spirit felt a chill run through it, noticing the cold gleam in Aizen's eyes.
The spirit of Kyōka Suigetsu was filled with fear, knowing that if it became an obstacle in Aizen's path, it would be mercilessly discarded, even though it was Aizen's own Zanpakutō.
Thus, Kyōka Suigetsu's spirit hurriedly communicated with Aizen.
'It wasn't my will; his voice seemed to have some sort of power, making me uncontrollably obey.'
Hearing this in his mind, Aizen's eyes lost their cold glint, and his brows furrowed slightly.
Clearly, another layer of mystery had been added to Gilgamesh, which Aizen couldn't comprehend.
However, in a Shinigami's battle, the strength of one's spiritual pressure ultimately prevails. No matter how mysterious the method, as long as the spiritual pressure is strong enough, it can be completely ignored.
With this thought, Aizen's spiritual pressure surged like a tidal wave toward Gilgamesh, and the resistance from Kyōka Suigetsu vanished instantly.
Moreover, the barrier of Enma Kōrogi was shattered under this overwhelming spiritual pressure.
Yoruichi, Gin, and Tōsen felt the weight of this spiritual pressure, their faces changing dramatically as their bodies grew heavy, and their hearts pounded wildly.
In the face of this terrifying spiritual pressure, Yoruichi even ignored the issue of Kennō, her mind occupied with a single thought: 'This spiritual pressure is too strong, unbelievably strong!'
Gin and Tōsen were slightly better off since they recognized it as Aizen's spiritual pressure.
Ignoring everyone else, Aizen advanced with Kyōka Suigetsu in hand, slashing down toward Gilgamesh.
Having decided to kill Gilgamesh, Aizen had no hesitation or doubt.
Clang!
In a resounding metallic clash, Aizen's strike was blocked by the Shield of the Gods.
This shield had withstood Isshin's Getsuga Tenshō and Gin's Shinso without a scratch.
Yet now, under a seemingly ordinary slash from Aizen, a crack appeared in the Shield of the Gods.
Aizen's brow raised slightly in surprise as he looked at the shield.
His strike, though seemingly ordinary, had the power to shatter the ground.
He hadn't expected Gilgamesh to possess a shield capable of blocking his attack and sustaining only a crack.
Nevertheless, this shield could not deter Aizen from wanting to kill Gilgamesh.
His thoughts flickered and vanished in an instant.
Aizen didn't pause, raising Kyōka Suigetsu again and slashing down.
Aizen's speed was so fast that even Yoruichi, under the pressure of his spiritual energy, could barely keep up.
But Gilgamesh was faster than Aizen.
Under the Omniscient Omnipotent Star, Gilgamesh saw through Aizen's intentions.
Thus, while blocking Aizen's strike with the Shield of the Gods, Gilgamesh also controlled the Chains of Heaven to bind Aizen.
It was unclear whether Aizen didn't care or didn't notice, but he was directly bound by the Chains of Heaven.
Before Aizen could react, the Chains of Heaven dragged him out of Vimana, pulling Tōsen along with him.
In mid-air, Aizen merely twitched his body slightly, breaking free from the chains as if they were ordinary links.
Aizen then charged back toward Vimana.
Aizen's Shunpo speed was incredibly fast, among the best of the captains, though not as fast as Yoruichi.
However, Vimana's speed, which defied physical laws, was faster than Yoruichi's, making it impossible for Aizen to catch up or even touch its shadow.
Although maintaining such high speed consumed a lot of energy, Gilgamesh, with his King's Treasury, had no shortage of energy.
To Tōsen and Gin, it looked like Aizen was constantly chasing Vimana's shadow but never catching it.
On Vimana, Gilgamesh sat on his throne, gently petting the shocked Yoruichi.
Yoruichi knew Vimana was fast but hadn't expected it to be this fast.
In comparison, her title of "Flash Goddess" seemed insignificant.
Ignoring Yoruichi, Gilgamesh retracted his Zanpakutō, Kennō, along with the Chains of Heaven, the Shield of the Gods, and the Spiral Sword, back into the King's Treasury.
Like Ichigo Kurosaki's Zangetsu, Kennō remained in its released state after its first release.
Kennō's initial ability was absolute command.
Decrees spoken by the king's mouth, a command from on high, could not be defied by any Zanpakutō.
However, each use of the command consumed spiritual pressure, and the stronger the target, the more spiritual pressure was required.
With Gilgamesh's current spiritual pressure, he could command a captain-level Zanpakutō twice.
As for Kennō's Bankai, Gilgamesh couldn't use it yet.
It wasn't that he didn't know the Zanpakutō's true name or that it didn't submit to him, but his spiritual pressure was too weak to support a Bankai.
The previous use of Tōsen's Bankai had drawn on Tōsen's own reserved spiritual pressure.
Seeing Aizen, who had recognized the gap in their speeds, Gilgamesh stopped Vimana.
Aizen looked at the halted Vimana, his expression calm. "If you just keep running, you won't be able to conquer me."
Gilgamesh noticed that while Aizen spoke, Tōsen and Gin were silently closing in on Vimana from different directions.
Smiling slightly, Gilgamesh said, "I am not running; I am deciding which Noble Phantasm to use to conquer you."
Aizen silently noted the term "Noble Phantasm," intending to research it later. He responded without changing his expression, "Oh, have you decided?"
Smiling, Gilgamesh caused a golden ripple to appear in front of him, saying, "Yes, I have."
A magnificent, platinum-and-gold spear, radiating a holy and majestic aura, emerged from the golden ripple.
Grasping the spear, Gilgamesh continued, "This spear is Gungnir, the possession of the chief god Odin in Norse mythology."
"Aizen Sōsuke, watch closely as I conquer you with this!"
"And feel the power of mythology!"
"Noble Phantasm release…"
"Gungnir!"
