Kimi opened her eyes slowly.
It was so bright, she had to squint and shade them with her hands.
After her eyes finally adjusted to the bright light, she saw a bright blue sky and smelled the fresh scent of grass.
Her eyes widened.
'Where am I?'
She sat up and found herself in a meadow under a big tree.
'Huh... wasn't I walking in the city earlier?'
She rubbed her head, that jerk hit her head hard. She remembered she was walking on the sidewalk when a man pulled her into a small alley and held her at gunpoint. Kimi tried to fight back, but the robber hit her head with a baseball bat.
It didn't hurt, it didn't bleed, and it didn't hurt at all.
She blinked a few times, trying to understand what was happening.
'Am I in heaven now?'
Her hands felt the thick, slightly damp grass.
'I guess so, this place is very beautiful.'
There were no people crowding the streets, and no tall buildings blocking her view.
No matter how far she looked, everything was green.
She looked up and saw a large tree towering above her. Its shade protected her from the sun.
She turned her gaze under the tree. Some small flowers grew around it.
Then she realized there was a horse tied to the big tree. Its fur and mane were shiny black. Its body was very muscular, and its eyes were very beautiful.
"Wow... the horse is so beautiful..."
Kimi didn't realize she was standing close to the horse.
The horse noticed Kimi and snorted once.
Kimi smiled and stretched out her hand, forgetting that she was confused because she didn't know where she was.
The horse nuzzled Kimi's hand and snorted once more. Kimi chuckled and started stroking the horse's mane. It felt so soft.
"Don't go near that horse!" someone shouted very loudly.
Kimi was shocked and pulled back her hand that was stroking the horse. A young man appeared from behind her. He was very handsome with black hair and red eyes but looked very fierce. He wore a fine white shirt, black pants, and a long black jacket. A sword hung at his waist.
Wait, a sword?
Kimi gasped and unconsciously took a step back.
The man pulled Kimi's body, preventing her from hitting the horse. Then he shifted her roughly to the side.
"What the..." she muttered.
The man stared at Kimi sharply and then pointed with his eyes to the place where she had been sitting.
Kimi turned her head and saw a cloth there with some fruits on it. Those were bananas and apples.
Kimi looked back at the man with a confused expression.
"Eat," the man said coldly.
Confused, Kimi walked slowly towards the fruits, thinking. 'Let's try to follow what he wants, then ask where this is…'
She sat down and took an apple. It looked very fresh and red. She took a bite, umm... it tasted really good.
"Umm… can I ask you something?" Kimi muttered softly to him.
The man ignored her and continued to stroke the horse, which was eating the apple from his hand. He didn't even spare a glance on her.
"Where is this?" Kimi asked, a little annoyed.
The man just turned to look at her, then went back to stroking the horse.
Kimi became more annoyed, and when she was about to stand up and confront the man, she just realized that the skirt she was wearing was long.
'Wasn't I wearing jeans when I got hit by that robber bastard?' she thought.
She looked at what she was wearing. An old-fashioned dress! With lots of lace and it was pink! She hated pink!
But this was weird, she thought. Why was she wearing old-fashioned clothes?
She held her head and realized that her hair was now long and flowing down to her butt. And it was silvery white! Haaaaa! When did she get this much gray hair?!
Kimi started to panic.
"Mirror… I need a mirror…" she muttered while looking right and left, then at the man.
"I need a mirror," she said to the man loudly.
The man frowned but remained silent.
Kimi was annoyed and then tried to look into the distance. Ah, there was a river not far from where she was. She walked, half-running towards the river.
Suddenly, the young man was in front of Kimi. Kimi was shocked, wasn't the man still with the horse?
"You're not allowed to go anywhere," said the man.
"I need a mirror!" Kimi said firmly.
The man was silent again, staring at Kimi.
"I want to know, why did my hair turn all white like this? And where am I?" shouted Kimi in frustration.
The man frowned. Kimi clenched her fists in annoyance. What's wrong with this man?
Finally, the man stepped aside and Kimi ran towards the river. The man followed her slowly.
When Kimi arrived at the edge of the river, she immediately knelt and tried to see her reflection on the surface of the river water. Luckily, the river water could be used as a mirror.
She was very shocked to see her own reflection. She touched her face in disbelief.
Her reflection was that of a young girl around 18 years old with long white hair. Her face was beautiful, her eyes were big and green, and her lips were small and red.
"W-who is this? Why is my face like this?" Kimi held her face in panic.
Then the reflection of that man appeared in the river water. "Who is this?" Kimi asked the reflection of the man while pointing at her reflection.
"Camelia Valois. Daughter of Duke Valois." The man finally answered after a moment of silence.
Kimi looked up at the man behind her. "Duke, you say? So where is this?"
The man answered coldly. "Kingdom of Calonia."
Kimi's eyes widened. So she transmigrated like the stories in the novels she had read? But she never remembered reading about the Kingdom of Calonia or Camelia Valois.
Then the man's next words made Kimi shiver.
"And I'm kidnapping you."
