Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: The Loom of Eternity

The forest groaned with unnatural life as Fairy Tail approached the ritual site. Each step they took brought them closer to a miasma of magical corruption that seemed to infect the very air. It wasn't just their senses that warned them of the impending danger—it was the instinct, the primal understanding of wrongness, that churned in their stomachs. Neralyth led the way, her violet eyes scanning every shadow, every movement in the distance, though her calm demeanor did little to hide the weight of what lay ahead.

The clearing where the ritual took place was nothing short of a desecration of nature. Great arcs of energy leapt from the ground into the sky, the space above twisting as if the heavens themselves were being rewritten. The air pulsed in waves, bending light and sound in irregular patterns. The runes carved into the soil weren't inert—they writhed, pulsing like veins connected to some malignant heart deep beneath the earth. And at the center of it all, the figure loomed.

The hooded figure was a stark contrast to the chaos around them. Clad in dark, rune-laden robes, their very presence seemed to anchor the corruption, feeding it. Their voice cut through the chaotic hum of magic, steady and devoid of any warmth.

"You're too late," the figure said without turning. Their tone was not one of mockery but cold inevitability. "This world's Loom was always destined to break. I am merely ensuring that its destruction serves a purpose."

Natsu clenched his fists, flames licking at his skin. "Oh, we're right on time to kick your ass!" he shouted, stepping forward with unshakable confidence.

"Natsu, wait!" Erza hissed, placing a hand on his shoulder. Her sharp gaze darted toward Neralyth, searching for guidance. "What are we dealing with here?"

Neralyth's voice was low, her gaze fixed on the figure. "They're a remnant of Zeref's experiments—an echo of his power, twisted by centuries of obsession. They've tapped into the Loom itself, using its threads to rip open the barriers between worlds. If they succeed, Earthland will become the epicenter of multiversal collapse."

Gray's icy breath misted in the corrupted air as he stepped beside Natsu. "Then we stop them. Like we always do."

"It's not that simple," Neralyth said. "The Loom isn't just a construct—it's alive, and it's fragile. One wrong move, one misplaced spell, and we could destroy what we're trying to save."

The figure turned at that, their hood falling back to reveal a pale face etched with glowing runes that pulsed in time with the ritual. Their eyes, violet and burning with arcane energy, locked onto Neralyth with a twisted smile.

"Ah, the Eternal Watcher," they said. "You've hidden in the shadows for so long, but even you cannot stop what's coming. The threads are already fraying. Pull too hard, and they'll snap."

Neralyth stepped forward, her calm demeanor masking the storm of power that swirled within her. "You underestimate the resilience of this world," she said. "And of those who protect it."

The figure's smile widened. "Then let's see how resilient you are."

The Battle Begins

The air exploded with energy as the figure raised their hands, and the runes beneath them surged with dark magic. Tendrils of corrupted energy erupted from the ground, lashing out like living creatures. Natsu darted forward, flames roaring to life around him as he dodged the tendrils with practiced ease.

"Take this!" he shouted, launching a torrent of fire at the figure.

The flames struck an invisible barrier, scattering harmlessly as the figure raised a hand. "Pathetic," they said, their voice laced with disdain.

Gray followed up, summoning a massive wave of ice that surged across the ground, freezing the tendrils in place. "Let's see how you like this!" he said, forming a massive ice spear and hurling it toward the figure.

The figure smirked, twisting the threads of reality around them. The ice spear shattered midair, its shards reversing direction and flying back toward Gray. He cursed, erecting an ice shield just in time to block the barrage.

Erza charged next, her sword glowing with radiant energy as she closed the distance. "You won't get away with this!" she shouted, slashing at the runes beneath the figure's feet.

But as her blade connected, the ground itself shifted, the runes twisting and reforming as though alive. The corrupted magic lashed out, forcing her to retreat.

The figure laughed, their voice echoing unnaturally. "You can't fight the Loom itself. It bends to my will."

Neralyth watched the battle unfold, her mind racing. The guild was strong, but they were fighting on the figure's terms. The Loom's corruption was amplifying their power, making them nearly invincible. She couldn't hold back any longer.

Neralyth Unleashed

With a deep breath, Neralyth stepped forward, her form shimmering as she shed her human guise. Her celestial dragon form emerged in a burst of light, her scales gleaming like starlight and her wings spreading wide. Her presence was overwhelming, a force of nature that made even the figure falter.

"So, the dragon reveals herself," the figure said, their voice tinged with unease. "It won't matter."

Neralyth's eyes burned with violet fire as she spoke. "Fairy Tail, focus your attacks on the figure. I will handle the Loom."

The guild nodded, their resolve strengthened by her transformation. Natsu, Gray, Erza, and Lucy coordinated their efforts, launching a relentless assault on the figure. Flames, ice, swords, and celestial magic clashed with the figure's dark energy, creating a dazzling display of power.

Meanwhile, Neralyth turned her attention to the Loom. The threads of reality were visible to her now, a web of energy that connected all things. But the corruption had taken hold, twisting the threads into something unrecognizable. She extended her claws, channeling her cosmic energy into the Loom, trying to untangle the mess.

The Loom fought back, its corrupted tendrils lashing out at her. Each strike burned her scales, but she didn't falter. For every thread she mended, the Loom grew a little stronger, its light pushing back the darkness.

The figure snarled, sensing their control slipping. "No! I won't let you undo my work!"

They unleashed a wave of dark magic, aiming to sever the threads Neralyth had restored. But Erza intercepted the attack, her armor glowing with radiant light as she deflected the blast.

"Keep going, Neralyth!" she shouted. "We've got this!"

The Turning Point

As the battle raged on, the guild's combined efforts began to take their toll on the figure. Their movements grew slower, their attacks less precise. The Loom's corruption was weakening, and with it, their power.

But the figure wasn't finished yet. They raised their hands, summoning a massive surge of energy that darkened the sky. "If I can't control this world, then I'll destroy it!"

Neralyth's eyes widened. The figure was preparing to unravel the Loom entirely, sacrificing Earthland to create a rift large enough to consume the multiverse.

"Fairy Tail, focus all your power on me!" she shouted. "I'll channel it into the Loom!"

Without hesitation, the guild redirected their attacks. Flames, ice, and light surged toward Neralyth, who absorbed the energy, weaving it into the threads. Her body glowed brighter and brighter, her power reaching its peak.

The figure screamed in fury, their body disintegrating as the Loom rejected their corruption. With one final surge of energy, Neralyth sealed the rift, restoring the Loom to its original state.
