Chapter 1 - Reborn 3 million years before Fang Yuan.

Reverend insanity is certainly one of the hardest books to write a fanfiction about due to the sheer difficulty presented in living in that world, in a world full of powerful and extremely devious characters each with their own schemes most concepts I came up with would have no hope of surviving in reverend insanity long enough to make an interesting story.

Another issue is the writing prowess of the original author of Reverend insanity, Gu Zhen Ren. If you are reading this fanfic then you've most likely read through Reverend insanity and bore witness to the author's story telling prowess. As an amateur fanfiction writer who merely writes things for his own entertainment I would be lying if I said that I was not intimidated by the prospect of taking on such a masterpiece.

Still, even with all the challenges that lie ahead I still wish to at least give it a try.

I apologise in advance if you do not enjoy this fanfic or feel that it sullies the original work.

At the base of a large mountain, a small farming village was situated housing the mortals owned by the Shen clan, many small figures of children could be seen in a field of sword grass, each blade of sword grass was as sharp as a real sword and the children needed to walk very carefully to avoid their feet and lower legs being cut and had to wear thick leather gloves to gather it.

Although some may think such a job was too dangerous for children, to the Gu masters of the Shen clan the value of the sword grass was well worth a few injured mortals.

The children carried bamboo baskets on their backs as they worked under the blazing sun, their tanned skin soaked in sweat.

Malenia or Hong Hui as she was known by this world's inhabitants noticing that her basket was already full of sword grass stopped and stared up at the blazing sun.

'Being able to destroy such a large body of brilliant flame, to think beings as powerful as the venerables can exist in this world.' Malenia thought as she remember the scene of Spectral Soul Demon venerable destroying the sun described by the novel.

Malenia silently looked at the figures of the other children who seemed to be melting under the sun.

Unlike the other children Malenia's figure was quite eye catching, not only was her skin still as fair as the day she was reborn, her abnormal height for her age, high physical strength and ease with which she moved through the field of sword grass drew a lot of attention.

Still although it was somewhat abnormal, it wasn't unheard of as many individuals in this world showed either high intelligence or physical strength from birth, these individuals usually had high aptitude for being a Gu master. Not that Malenia would likely get that opportunity.

Unlike central continent where anyone with high aptitude could join a sect, in southern border where Malenia found herself only those belonging to clans were allowed to cultivate.

Malenia wasn't part of a clan and so she wouldn't be allowed to cultivate no matter how much talent she possessed, even so, Malenia needed to become a Gu master if she ever wanted to return to the lands between and find Miquella.

Lying in bed, Malenia twirled a lock of her intense red hair around her finger as she pondered on a way to awaken her aperture, although she was still only nine years old and unable to awaken her aperture yet, looking for a method to use in the future wouldn't cause any harm.

The first most simple method would be to find a spirit spring and use it to awaken her aperture, the Shen clan that lived at the top of the mountain certainly had a spirit spring however it would definitely be heavily guarded.

The only way for her to be able to access it would be if she were adopted by an elder of Shen clan or by the clan leader. As for becoming a Shen clansman through marriage? Although that was definitely possible Malenia doubted that she would be allowed to awaken her aperture.

The next method would be to find a Gu master inheritance but although Malenia knew of many inheritances mentioned in the novel none of them even existed at this point.

The most recent venerable was Star constellation immortal venerable who died more than three hundred thousand years ago. Star constellation immortal venerable's era happened around three million years before the birth of Fang Yuan, None of the inheritances shown in the novel, even old ones left by venerables existed.

That meant Malenia would have to just get lucky enough to get one randomly, waiting for things to happen on their own was never Malenia's style however.

'Whichever method it is, I will still need strength, I will continue with my current method and continue to train to regain my former strength.' At her full power, although still nothing compared to a Venerable she would still be capable of at least fighting a rank two Gu master.

Five years passed and Malenia was now fourteen years old, after spending the majority of her rebirth training, Malenia had recovered most of the strength she previously possessed, the only things she lacked now was the scarlet rot which she was happy to get rid of and a sword.

Getting a hold of a sword was surprisingly difficult, swords weren't popular with Gu masters so only a few mortals had them for self defense, her village was defended by a rank two Gu master so there was no need to own weapons other than for hunting.

No one in their right head would actually use a sword to hunt, instead bows were more popular, still, that wouldn't stop her as Malenia would soon acquire a worthy weapon.
