In the heart of the city, a white car drives down an empty road. Inside sits a boy with black hair and hollow eyes—it's as if he's already dead inside, merely breathing within an empty human shell.
Through the car window, he watches a black raven soaring in the deep blue sky.
"Hey driver, isn't a black raven an omen of death?"
The driver nearly crashes into a wall, shocked by his young master's words. It's as if Death himself had whispered in his ears.
Having worked for this household for a year, the driver had never heard his young master speak before. This was the first time.
The driver steadied himself and forced a smile.
"Young... young master Raven, what are you talking about?"
Raven turned his hollow eyes toward him. The driver felt as if a zombie had just emerged from its grave.
Raven spoke in an emotionless voice:
"Nothing."
Unaccustomed to his young master's voice, the driver felt a wave of disappointment in that single word.
"Young master Raven, please feel free to ask me anything. I'll do my best to answer your questions."
Raven remained silent, gazing out the window.
After several minutes, he spoke again:
"What do you think life is?"
The driver readied himself to answer.
'Why is this kid so talkative today? I only offered to answer questions out of formality, and now he's asking such strange things! What else can you expect from a 14-year-old boy nicknamed with "The Hollow Kid"? Such a creepy name!'
"Well, young master, I believe everyone has different views on life. For me, I simply want to earn enough money to send my daughter to a prestigious school."
Raven studied him with those hollow eyes for a moment, then sighed.
'So again, it's all about money.'
After an awkward silence, the driver asked:
"Young master, what about you? What do you think of life?"
Raven turned back to the window without answering.
The driver thought to himself:
"Here we go again! Why am I stuck with this creepy kid?"
Suddenly, Raven spoke:
"For me, life is hollow and empty."
The driver didn't understand.
"What do you mean, young master Raven?"
'So creepy! This kid is beyond creepy. Why does he keep opening that disturbing mouth of his? Every word sends chills down my spine.'
"I mea—"
[CRASH!!]
Before Raven could finish, a jet-black car slammed into them.
Their white car rolled across the road like a toy, windows shattering, metal crumpling with a massive dent in its side.
For a moment, Raven's senses went blank.
When his vision cleared, he saw a pool of crimson blood—but it wasn't his.
Raven's eyes widened at the sight before him.
There lay a head, detached from its body, its eyes lifeless.
The person he'd been talking to just moments ago.
[The driver is dead]
