The battle raged on until Gyarados made his dramatic appearance, overpowering the enemy's pirate ship with overwhelming force. The pirates of the Megashark blew their horns, signaling a counterattack. The enemy was thrown into disarray, quickly collapsing under the pressure. With the high-level combatants being occupied by Gyarados and Swampert, the remaining pirates had no reinforcements to rely on.
As the sun began to set, the red hues spread across the sea. The Megashark's deck was soaked in blood, the scene a brutal testament to the savage and heroic clash between the two pirate groups. One by one, the last enemy pirates fell, and the remaining crew of the Megashark cheered for their hard-earned victory. They had emerged triumphant from the bloody feast.
Corpses of pirates and elves littered the battlefield, with riches and treasures scattered throughout. Chaos had paved the way for their rise to power. The pirates, exhausted but victorious, knelt, crying and raising their hands in joy, shouting their triumph. The setting sun bathed them in its glow, almost as if the heavens themselves were celebrating their victory.
Inside the ship, Darian Voss heard the news that the battle had ended and quickly wiped the blood from his face. He pretended to be exhausted as he stepped out from the cabin, eager to present himself as a key player in the fight, even though he had stayed hidden during the chaos. After all, he had been part of the effort—albeit in a more strategic sense.
At the bow of the ship, Mrs. Sanju stood, holding the severed heads of the two first mates. She looked cold and resolute, stunning the crew into silence with her chilling display. Her voice echoed across the deck as she addressed the crew, her tone sharp and final.
"The two first mates were traitors, planning to kill the captain. They have been executed to eliminate the threat to our ship!"
The crew stared at Mrs. Sanju in shock, the woman they had once seen as gentle now standing before them as a figure of ruthless authority. Darian Voss immediately raised his arms, shouting in support of Mrs. Sanju's leadership.
"Mrs. Sanju is strong! We support you as the new captain!"
The crew quickly echoed his words, their fear of the new captain's coldness giving way to a unified cheer. Mrs. Sanju stood tall, her cold eyes scanning the crew. She raised her arms high, letting the wind whip her hair as she declared:
"From now on, the flag of the Great Shark will fly higher than ever before!"
"Long live Mrs. Sanju!" the crew shouted in unison.
The sails of the Megashark fluttered in the evening breeze, a symbol of their victory and the new path the crew was about to embark on.
Later that night, the pirates salvaged what they could from the enemy ship, eager to divide the spoils of their victory. Darian Voss, meanwhile, took stock of the loot he had personally gathered. Sitting in his quarters, he spread out the items across the small table. The first thing he noticed was a pile of alliance coins—30,000 of them. He smiled at the unexpected windfall.
He also found two Poké Balls, one containing an agate jellyfish and the other a lobster soldier, both at low levels of 16 and 17. While these Pokémon wouldn't be of much use to him, they could likely be sold for a decent amount of money. Darian Voss also discovered a training manual for lobster soldiers, which greatly piqued his interest. The manual was produced by the Elf Alliance and contained invaluable information about training, feeding, and even emotional bonding with the Pokémon.
Darian Voss locked the manual away, knowing it could be a vital resource in his future endeavors. His thoughts briefly turned to the pirate he had killed earlier, whose training manual he had now acquired. That pirate had once been an Alliance trainer, but after his family fell out of favor in the political turmoil of the Alliance, he had turned to piracy to survive.
As Darian Voss continued to sift through the rest of the loot, he found a few other minor items, but it was the manual that he knew would be the most valuable. After sorting through everything, he went to bed, reflecting on the events of the day.
The next morning, Darian Voss woke up to the sound of seagulls outside his window. He stretched and, with a contented sigh, began to take care of his Pokémon, feeding them and making sure they were well cared for. He admired the lobster soldier, which was already starting to show potential. He also noted that energy cubes were an excellent investment, and he hoped to learn how to make them himself in the future.
When he went to the restaurant to eat, he found himself sitting across from Tatama, a rugged man who had been one of the pirates to survive the battle. Tatama, in an effort to build rapport with Darian, offered him a meal—Slowpoke tail, a delicacy among the pirates. The food was surprisingly delicious, and Tatama played it off casually, all while hinting at his own ambitions.
"Brother Kuroyu, this feast is thanks to the captain's leadership," Tatama said, his tone light but with a hidden meaning. He likely saw Darian as someone who could help him secure a higher position within the ship's ranks.
Darian Voss, ever the opportunist, smiled and ate without hesitation. He knew that maintaining good relations with powerful figures like Tatama would help him rise within the crew. He even made a small request to Tatama for advice on training Pokémon, and Tatama eagerly handed him a manual on breeding lobster soldiers.
As Darian returned to the deck later, he saw that many of the pirates were exchanging spoils. Some pirates were eager to replenish their teams of Pokémon, while others were looking for valuable items. Darian Voss watched as a proud swallow, near evolution, was bought by one of the pirates for 140,000 alliance coins. It wasn't a great price, but given the risks involved in taming the Pokémon, it was reasonable.
Darian Voss noted the growing sense of competition among the pirates, especially with the two first mates dead and Mrs. Sanju now firmly in charge. She would need to consolidate her power and secure the position of first mate for someone loyal to her. The race for that position was already beginning.
The scene on the deck was a mixture of celebration and quiet competition. Everyone was eager to claim their share of the spoils, but Darian Voss knew that the real challenge lay ahead. With Mrs. Sanju in charge and the balance of power shifting, he had to be careful about how he played his cards. The life of a pirate was dangerous and unpredictable, but with the right moves, Darian Voss could secure a powerful future for himself.
As he walked along the deck, he found himself reflecting on his place within the crew. The risks were high, but the rewards were greater than anything he had ever imagined. He would continue to rise in power, all while using his cunning to navigate the dangerous waters of pirate life. The chaos of the battle was behind him, but the true test of survival was only just beginning.
